In this whole scenario, Katha should not play any role as it’s purely between Viaan’s family and Vaanya’s family. Katha’s intrusion is hell annoying now.

Agree .. While I enjoy watching love struck Viaan, always in awe and admiration of Katha.. it's like he has completely given the reigns of his life in her hands. I didn't appreciate few things even early on before all this happened

1) how Katha questioned his decision of hiring Vanya after the one on one interview... She downright said how could you hire her without consulting me? Errmmm he is the CEO. He can hire whoever he wants and if he needs to consult anyone it would be Ehsan, his partner not Katha his employee.

2) The way Katha shot down his ideas when he was talking about the theme park for kids in the Lonavala project. That was rude and unprofessional. I know Katha knew immediately that she was not right the way she talked to him but Viaan was ok with it... That was my problem. One doesnt need to have an ego but at least have some self respect.

I hope this equation changes as the show progresses. Difference of opinions, conflicts keep a relationship real and healthy.

Viaan has been compensating for that "dark night" in ways that don't look justified at times. It's like in comparison to what I did to her, she is allowed to walk all over me for an entire life and it wouldn't be enough.

Imagine some years after marrying katha, viaan says i don't love you. In fact i never loved you. It was all guilt. Ab mujhe sukoon chahiye 😆😆

Now i want to date my hot secretary and watch jugnus with her. Ok bye. Ta ta.

.... Yaarrrrrrrrrrrrr khatam karo yeh track... Both of them are looking like idiots here... And get some friction between them, ho gaya bahut sooraj barjatya, let's get some anurag kashyap.

Part of the problem also is that we are not used to seeing ML like this so early on.. he has been on guilt trip from episode 34 and this worshipping Katha practically started from there only.. I was very happy with the way they showed him redeem himself. He won her trust, her forgiveness and her respect.. this track was kinda the main plot from Viaan's past.. I hope now they smoothly transition into the next phase where they have a more balanced equation..where Viaan feels comfortable and secure to go against her if need be without the fear of offending her and in the process losing her.. let's see...

have mentioned this long time ago but in many Indian languages, we have several words for love -- romantic love is right next to lust and is on the bottom. we see love as a fleeting and fickle emotion. it is why we don't really emphasize or talk about it so much.

now respect on the other hand such a strong emotional connotation which just does not come across in english. just say 'izzat' and how strongly we feel.

I am reminded of a bagya lakshmi serial scene where the daughter will be rude to the 2nd wife for telling her to study. then the grandfather will chide her saying, "first of all, she is your father's wife and you should respect her. you don't have to like her but you need to respect her as your elder because of her relationship with your father. you don't have to like or agree with what happened between your parents but that has nothing to do with you. however as a human being and a woman, you should give her respect as that is our culture."

for me, that is what this conflict should be about -- the battle for respect. teji blackened a man's name after his death. that is such a no-no in our culture because honour, name and reputation is so highly valued. that is the crux. now in order to get respect, you cannot justify your actions in the name of love.

viraj was unhappy and wanted to leave -- that is okay in my book. as ruchita mentioned, there have been many murders and crimes when people wanted to exit a marriage. in many crime patrol episode, the host will say, "just choose divorce. please don't resort to murder".

in some families, there may not be physical murder but it is so emotionally toxic where they all hate each other and kids end up despising marriage and love. so in those kind of emotionally toxic and turbulent situations, it is best if the couple splits up rather than hurt each other.

there was a regional debate show where adult children said openly they wished parents didn't stay together for the sake of children because they were so miserable growing up.

so if viraj wanted to leave -- happens. viraj wanted to live with someone else and a different life -- happens. teji was upset and created drama -- happens.

now what I find weird is the justification track by using the excuse of love. that is very strange. viraj was unhappy and that had nothing to do with whether he loved teji or not. their marriage was clearly a mismatch and that happens a lot in arranged marriage. so why are they talking so much about love? that I don't get. it is irrelevant if he fell in love with seema -- if not seema, it would have been someone else because he was unhappy and he wanted a different life. these things happen.

so all this justification by using the word love is total bakwas. seema is a 3rd party which is a fact. it is also fact that that she wasn't mistress but more second wife. we can debate law and legalities but within Indian context, second wife does have some respect.

so teji's actions on their izzat was messed up -- seema should have been given the respect of second wife and viraj was not some playboy. maligning a man's character after his death where he is not around to defend himself is a real low. so if the makers just approached from the izzat/respect angle without going into this weird tangent about love, it would feel more desi. all this talk about love makes me feel like I am watching some western show.

humans are messy. just show how the relationship and marriage deteriorated without doing a black and white approach. I can't believe I am saying this but even serials like bagya lakshmi and anupama had a far more sophisticated understanding of how marriages unraveled. 😆

Very interesting opinion, Mango.

--

Long time no see, guys! I saw KA after a long break actually, and I just saw the second last episode. And I must say, I was shocked by the turn of events!! There have been such interesting conversations on this forum, that I thought I could also share my thoughts on this situation. Pardon me if I am unaware of some details from the show, as I didn't see many of the episodes.

First of all, what a messy situation. I must say that I feel incredibly sad for Viaan, as he is placed in a situation where no one is entirely right. Furthermore, his views on who everyone truly is (which have been shaping him since childhood) has been shattered, and now he has to pick up the pieces and build his own sense of truth.

From what I understand, it seems like Viraj and Teji got married (from arranged marriage probably), and then their marriage eventually deteriorated. Viraj and Seema fell in love, and now Viraj wants to divorce Teji. Teji didn't want that, and thus she went on to separate Viraj from his son, and eventually presented a completely different picture of what the whole situation was, to her son.

In my opinion, I think this is an extremely grey situation where everyone is wrong, but at the same time, they also have some valid arguments to their situation.

First of all, I personally do think that Teji is a selfish woman. I am saying this from experience as I have interacted closely with people like her. The hurt that she must have gone through in this whole situation is undeniable, but I think it's extremely selfish of her to take control of the narrative and feed the wrong information to her son. This negative narrative has severely affected Viaan (considering his extreme views of women initially). I strongly believe that you can have massive issues with your spouse, but you have no right to let those issues mentally and emotionally affect your children, especially by constantly feeding them negative information about people. Trust me, I have seen children to grow up to be extremely disturbed after this.

But on the other hand, I don't think Viraj was right in expecting his wife to just accept an extramarital affair without any anger. I don't have much to say except for the fact that an affair is just unethical; there's a lot of immaturity in this decision. I do feel bad for Seema to be branded by the wrong names by society. But she was also involved with Viraj in his extramarital affair, and I personally cannot forgive that.

I wish both Viraj and Teji could have handled their incompatibility in marriage with more maturity (such as marriage counselling or something; after all, they are rich and can afford it!!). But the unfortunate truth is that they are not that mature, in my opinion.

Okay guys, now I am beginning to write essays and rants like Mango. 😂 But at the end of the day, this whole situation is messed up because there was no actual solution also; both those spouses were trapped in a toxic marriage, not knowing what the correct step in healing their relationship was. These kinds of situations just make me not want to get married at all 😭 😭

I agree with parts of what you say, but this line I think is the gist of my grievance. There was no easy solution for both but Viraj made his own solution that suited him without considering Teji’s dignity (the most humiliating thing for a wife is to be left for another woman) or Viaan’s suffering. Seema was the biggest beneficiary, she got Viraj without having to bother about his kid, she got a de-facto hubby & baby of her own & would have enjoyed life completely if Viraj hadn’t died. Eventually she wld have got legal status also.

As for Teji she did not get to choose a solution that satisfied her, Viraj’s solution was humiliatingly thrust upon her. In one day she went from being a business hotshot’s wife & society lady to a publicly deserted wife & society bechari. Therefore it is somewhat understandable, if not condonable, that she twisted it into a narrative that gave her more dignity. In the process she may not have realised how she ended up screwing Viaan’s life.

Maybe that is why they are showing Karma settling scores - Viraj died untimely & Seema develop dementia untimely.
