They (basically the father in law) were not accepting kathaa and aarav for 8 years. The father in law refused to provide financial help for Aarav's treatment.

After treatment he has realised his mistakes and accepted them

I watched a episode when Viaan came to know about katha a single mother. I think Katha's mother in law's birthday party one.

I thought Father in law & mother in law both are nice.

Mother in law is nice. Infact she is definitely among one of the best characters of show. I love how she makes her husband realize his mistakes..

But Father in law was holding grudges against kathaa that she snatched his son..he became better from the party only
