kekekke... okay I can't believe this but I am going to play devil's advocate for papaG -- 🤣
so I ended up watching the last two episodes together and it gives a different tinge. basically we see one face with katha and a completely different one with mamaG. he is a complex character.
am reminded of this phrase I read long ago -- if you sit on grief or anger too long, it will corrupt you. that is papaG for you. he is still grieving the loss of his son 8 years later and he blames katha for the separation. he may not be crying tears or showing his emotions but his heart still bleeds over that loss. so he has not forgiven katha and hence his hard heartedness.
however, his scenes with mamaG (am ignoring that weird ghost in the mirror! 😂 -- see pic in arch thread if curious) was really good. first, it shows that he is indeed humane and cares deeply. mamaG and him have a good marriage where they support each other and also make each other accountable. when she was grieving the loss, he stood by her and was her rock. perhaps, in that process, he didn't let himself grieve.
that is one aspect. the other is the lack of relationship between him and katha. in every family, there will be one leech -- someone who is notorious for borrowing money or asking for help and then disappears. after a while, relatives start to groan when that person even shows up because they are immediately expecting some sort of request. when it comes to money, having a relationship helps as there is trust and concern. however, even then we prioritize how we spend the money.
in an earlier episode, mamaG said aarav likely does not have much hope but they can still give as charity. at this papaG asks "one crore charity? I can help 3 kids or more with that money." -- that is indeed true. we make those kind of choices all the time even with small donations. we give to those we like or feel for the cause. we have limited resources and so we see where it might be most useful.
think of a relative you absolutely despise or they deeply hurt you -- would you be willing to help out above and beyond? or would you say like papaG "it is not my responsibility"
now we can argue that it is papaG's grandson after all but it is papaG's hard earned money. he has the right to spend and legally he can write to whoever he sees fit. there is no obligation that he has to give to his son or grandson when it is earned money. (if it is inherited property/money, then automatically, son and grandson are eligible for inheritance)...
just like papaG, viaan also has two faces. these are men from two different generations who seem like pricks on the outside but on the inside to those who know them, another side is revealed. this is going to be fun to watch!!
and for those wondering why we have Gfamily drama -- there are there to stir the pot; otherwise, how else will we have 100+ episodes? 😂
here is my prediction: papaG will change his mind at the last minute and will pay the hospital directly. katha will come back from one night stand and curse herself for not giving grizzly bear a chance. as aarav gets better, there will be more interactions with the Gfamily. then people will find out about one night stand and all hell will break loose!!!
bring on the drama!!!!
