Drama: Katha Ankahee

Based on: Binbir Gece (Turkish dizi) - translates as '1001 Nights'

The Turkish dizi ran for 3 seasons, 90 episodes: 2006-2009

Background: Binbir Gece itself was inspired by the literature classic --'1001 Nights'. Also known as Arabian nights, it is a collection of Middle Eastern folk tales from where we get the tales of Ali Baba, Sindbad, Aladdin. It is one of the earliest literature classics where we have a story within a story format.

The overall story is about the Persian King Shahryar who gets cheated on by his wife. Heartbroken, he has her killed. Subsequently, he marries for a night and then has the woman killed -- in order to prevent getting cheated on. One of his wise ministers has a daughter Shahrazad and she decides to marry the king. The minister is horrified but relents after his daughter convinces him that that she can put a stop to the king's madness.

On the first night in the bedchambers, Shahrazad begins a story and it goes on through the night. As dawn breaks, she stops. Shahryar has to know what happens and so keeps her alive for a few more days and nights. So it goes. As she finishes one story, she begins another. This goes for 1001 nights. Through the process, Shahryar changes and he also gets to know his new queen. So they live well after that. The dizi contained many quotes and references to the literature classic peppered through its story.

I think it's just to make Viaan's guilt trip huge... Anyways why did in the original FL doesn't tell the original reason at the first time only ??

in the original, he never knew she was even married. basically she keeps getting rejected from jobs because she is mom with a sick child. so frustrated, when she applies for his company, she lies that she is single. thats how she gets the job. so when he asks why she needs the money she does not give any reasons because she is afraid to lose the job.

katha is supposed to be temporary staff. so it sounded like she was freelancing and not permanent designer with viaan's company.

I liked the episode. 👍🏼

I love the bonding between Katha and Aarav. She is such cool mom and that kid is ❤️. Got emotional while watching their scene tonight.

Precap is interesting. So the rival company is offering her one crore.

Girls, what will u do if you were in Katha 's place? Will you accept the offer and cheat with your company? Or will you accept the OG offer?

I am little confused here. Sayad mei cheating kar leti. 🙈 Bhagooooo.. 😆

If it's freelancing then I don't see why she can't accept rival company 's proposal. It won't be called cheating then.😆

I think she is a permanent employee. Now I am really excited to see what will trigger her to accept that proposal.
