In tonight's episode of Kasturi, Amita Chandekar makes her entry on the small-screen once again.

The actress had ben keeping a low profile for quite some time, so what got her back on television? "I play Pooja and the character has some interesting shades of grey. I will be wearing noodle straps and sporting a new, short hairdo," she says.

Happy to be back

Amita was last seen in Kasautii Zindagii Kay as Mr Bajaj's daughter, Vishakha.

"I don't think my track in Kasautii will be around after the generation leap.
But I am happy with my role in Kasturi," says the actress, who will be seen opposite Nikhil Arya.

Will she be wary of Nikhil, going by his reputation of being a flirt? "I think he's quite chilled. He's just a good friend and we get along really well."

On the personal front, Amita celebrated her birthday with friends and family on Sunday. However, she brought in the celebrations a day earlier as she was shooting on her birthday. "It was a quiet affair and I only invited close friends," she says.
