Chapter 41 ' Zindagi kehlati hain..tum se hi (English)
Devika gently patted Kasturi's head, her eyes slightly teary and sung to her:
"Sola singaar karke godh bharaayi le.."
Prachi added with a mischevious nudge:
"Saiyyaan se kheli bahut ab chhotu ko khilaayi le"
Sola singaar karke godh bharaayi le.."
"Chhotu jo aave ghar mein, naani behlaave
Paayal pehenke naani naach dikhaave
Haan, chhotu jo aave ghar mein maasi ko bulaave
Naadi badalke unki lori sunaave
Oh, teri hasi bhar bharke
Ghar mein chhidkaave
Oh, sola singaar karke godi bharaayi le
Sola singaar karke godi bharaayi le
Saiyyaan se kheli bahut ab
Chhotu ko khilaayi le
Sola singaar karke godi bharaayi le
Sola singaar karke"

Kasturi entered the bedroom and began to take off her jewellry. Robbie walked in from the adjoining bathroom.
"So how was the godh badhai?" he asked, gently helping her remove her ornaments.
"It was very nice. Everyone gave me so many gifts and good wishes. And there was lots of singing and dancing too."
"Sounds like you had lots of fun. Didn't even remember your beloved," complained Robbie.
"Who said that you're my beloved? When have you said "I love you" to me?"
"Kasturi! Don't lie! I've said it so many times," reminded Robbie. "You say it to me."
"First you say."
"No, first you say!"
"I won't say."
"Go on, say those 3 words."
"First you."
"Fine then. Until you say it I'm going to stay upset," decided Robbie.
"So even I've decided that I won't say it," decided Kasturi, equally obstinate for once.
"I'll make you say it," challenged Robbie.
"It's a challenge then."

Kasturi and Robbie sat down together at the table for breakfast. Devika smiled at them and began to pour some tea.
Robbie slid his left hand under the table and clutched Kasturi's right hand tightly. As Devika turned away, he whispered. "Say it?"
"No!"
"Then I won't leave your hand."
"Robbie!"
"What are you two talking about?" inqured Devika, noticing their mutterings.
"Nothing, mom. Just I'm very hungry," answered Robbie slyly.
"But Kasturi, why aren't you eating anything?" Kasturi began to eat, hoping Devika wouldn't notice she was using the wrong hand.
"Kasturi dear, what are you doing? Eat with your right hand."
Kasturi struggled to keep a smile on her face and think up an excuse whilst attempting to free her hand.
"That..I.." she flailed, blushing. Robbie's smile was smug.
Devika figured it out and quickly looked under the table.
"Haiyye Kasturi, you've been married and still you're acting shy like a newly-wed bride. If that cheeky Robbie has held your hand then you can tell me, no? Let go of the hand, Robbie," she said sternly but with a hint of a smile.
"Yes, mom," said Robbie, looking a little embarrassed.
After breakfast, Devika left for the office and Kasturi went to wash up in the kitchen.
Robbie sneaked up behind her at the sink and hugged her tight.
"Now who will save you?" he threatened with a chuckle.
"Uff Robbie, let go," protested Kasturi.
"Say it.." he implored.
"No," she giggled, playfully splashing him from the tap, then sprinting away. He chased after her, laughing as well. Finally, they ran out of breath and collapsed upstairs on the bed.
Their eyes met and they stared into each others'; Robbie gently cupped her face in his hands.
"Robbie, mein tumse ek baat kehna chahti hoon. Sach kya hain hun dono jaante hain, phir bhi.." whispered Kasturi.
Robbie smiled, impatient to hear the words he'd been waiting all day to hear.
"I..love..you," she whispered, blushing a little.
"I love you too, Kasturi," he declared passionately.

Kasturi was sitting on the bed hemming her sari; out of the corner of her eye she could see Robbie pacing up and down the corridor.
"The new secretary has gone on holiday, and mom has given me this list! Sh'e told me to calculate the profit. Ugh how will I know all this? And on top of that I can't ind the calculator. What shall I do?" muttered Robbie in distress.
Chuckling, Kasturi tiptoed up behind him and commented: "What's this? The famous rockstar Robbie Sabharwal doesn't know how to calculate profit?"
"What do I do, Kasturi? I was always weak in accounts. I failed Maths though, that's why."
She smiled. "It's no problem, I am here, aren't I. And at least your actuary wife will come in handy."
"Thank you, Kasturi, you'v taken such a load off my mind," gushed Robbie, overjoyed to see the last of all those figures.
"Uff Robbie, in marriage there's no sorry, no thank you. Now you leave. Don't you have to go to the office?"
He gave her a quick hug. "But don't work too much. And stay sitting down."
"Uff you're too much, Robbie. Now go. You'll get late." He gave her a quick hug and rushed outside.
As she picked up the pile of papers, a single sheet fell out. She picked it up with a smile, which turned to shock and fear.
