I have had neither the time, nor inclination to read all the posts so apologies in advance if what I'm about to say has already been covered.
But I do have some facts to put down to addition to all the facts that are being presented here.
1. FACT: shows take time to settle down when they start. It's not uncommon for shows to take 1.5 to 2 months to reach their peak. In fact there are many shows which never reach their peak of topping the charts through the course of their run and yet are termed hits.
2. Next, there's something called a tragectory. An upward or a downward graph. And even going by the slot data posted by one member, the tragectory is clear, that the show had a week on week upward tragectory. I. E the show wa simp roving in its rating through the course of the Naveen track. In fact the rankings started dropping again when the show lost its momentum post Naveen's exit and picked up again only when the track again went in the direction of anupre eventual love confession, as can be seen in the data.
3. Next, komolikas full fledged entry and anurag and komolikas marriage actually dropped the ratings and the show lost is slot. (refer to the post made by a helpful member). The show regained momentum only when prerna entered as the first wife and the pre vs kom began.
4. Next, what, pray tell me, does a Komo centric plot mean? Honest question, but have members who call it a Komo centric track actually watched those episodes? Because anyone who watches it can see that komo is clearly at the LOSING END in these tracks. Prerna keeps winning every challenge, there was an overload of anupre moments for the viewers, and it was obvious that the end of this track would result in anupre reuniting again. How this becomes a komolika centric track beats me? I guess definition of "centric tracks", are changed here. Because the way any average viewer sees this and what he understands from it is that this was the only track of the show which was anupre centric. Prerna was anurag's wife, they loved each other, prerna was fighting komolika and winning.
However what is to be noted here is the show enjoyed a period of constant high spots for many weeks and was stable between the 4th and 8th slot. Again, people will give credits as they see fit.
5. What happens after Bajaj enters? Now to begin with, the episodes when Bajaj entered and the first few weeks post that was a high point in the show. Whether Bajaj will separate anupre, will anurag stop the bapre wedding and then Swiss. All were high points. So when you compare these high points with the previous high points in the show, the ratings were not at par, either in terms of numbers or rankings. In fact rhis was the first and only time the show had a foreign location shoot and still the numbers were very ordinary for such a high point. In comparison, The week where ronit kidnaps prerna had the same number and a higher rank than the Swiss track. Go figure. A foreign location shoot, bapre were married, a heartbroken anurag and still rank between 6 and 8. And numbers between 1.9 and 2.2. Also it is very clear here that the show is starting to slide. It never again reaches the highs of the 3rd, 2nd or 1st slot and hovers between 5th and 8th slot. I. E., the decreasing trend had started. The only exception is the bapre wedding week, which, as we all know was constantly promoted with anurag stopping the wedding the biggest high point. Infact the precaps for these episodes even had anupre getting married in the temple which turned out to be anurag's dream. So whether people watched thinking anurag will stop the wedding and anupre will get married which will be different from what happened in s1, or watched knowing the reboot will repeat the same story as season 1 is up for debate. But that week was promoted through anurag and anupre is undebatable.
6. Finally I'm curious as to why the wonderful data compilation mysteriously stops after ek chhatt. Surely Bajaj was there even during ek chhatt. Ekk chatt is when the bapre track actually started with so called domestic bapre, bajaj falling in love, their out of this world dances culminating in the utmost butchering of the male lead. Surely the numbers as well as slot positions during that time will also tell the story? Since I've only seen the numbers till date, I know they were abysmal but maybe the slot rankings tell a different story? 🤔
Facts cannot stop at convenient places. When we want to put forth facts and then make conclusions based on it, it is imperative that the facts encompass the whole story and give the entire picture.
As it remains, this is just partial data which stops at a convenient place. Thanks for it in any case.
Happy Sunday. Just 2 more weeks and the discussions on this show will hopefully stop. 🙏
