CHAPTER 2

In London, Rishabh has changed a lot after returning from Kolkata. He spends his entire day at office only. And he spent the nights in his study or in his bedroom after a heavy drink. In simple words he did not interact with anyone specially with his family members including Kukki. He refrained himself within a shell.

But this change in his behavior was not gone unnoticed by his aunt Sharda. Though she did some nasty things in the past with Rishabh and also tried to harm him but still he was like her son and she still held a lot of affection for him as he was almost like his son and She was the sister of his mother.

So she decided to talk to Rishabh regarding his behavior towards them. As she has thought she asked Tanvi to feed Kukki earlier than usual and also to take food herself. After making sure that both of them are deep asleep, she quietly left the room and went to the study to talk with Rishabh.

Rishabh was going through a file when Sharda entered the room. He was pleasantly surprised to see her at such odd time of night. His first thought was about Kukki.

Rishabh: " Masi, is everything okay? Is Kukki okay? and Tanvi."

Sharda: "Yes, beta don't worry about them. They are sleeping. I have come here to talk about you."

Rishabh: " Me? Why suddenly ? I am absolutely fine. Nothing has happened to me."

Sharda: " You are not at all fine. I am like your mother. So there is no point of lying to me. I have noticed you since you came from Kolkata, you have grown distant from all of us and do you have the slightest idea of it's affect on Kukki."

Rishabh: "Kukki !!!!!! Is she alright? "

Sharda: " No beta. Yesterday she cried the entire day thinking that you do not love her anymore."

Rishabh: " what !!!! How can she even think like that? I love her more than anything . You know that.

Sharda: " I know that but your daughter thinks that you do not love her anymore and that is the reason you do not spend your time with her."

Rishabh: " That is not the reason. "

Sharda: " Then what is the reason for which you forgot your daughter?"

Rishabh: " Prerna."

Sharda: " How is Prerna has something to do with it?"

Rishabh: "I love her, masi. I love her a lot. But she hates me. I destroyed her life and at the end fell in love with her. I tried to tell her but could not. Whenever I open the room I feel her presence but she is not there."

Finally the ruthless and most powerful businessman broke down in the arms of his mother like. The facade of the strength broke mercilessly without any kind of warning. The pain and hurt that he has been carrying since he has left Kolkata and maybe since he has handed Prerna over the divorce papers. Sharda was shocked with his revelation but more than that she understood the extent of Rishabh's love for Prerna and the current pain she is going through.

After sometime his crying subsided and on Sharda's insistence he went to his room but not before promising her that the next day he will not go to office and spent the time with Kukki.

"She must be the happiest person in this world. Who wouldn't be when she have the love of her life as her husband and a symbol of their love growing inside her."

'I love you, Prerna and will continue loving you till infinity.'

was his last words before he drifted into a dreamless slumber.....
