Oh sarcasm .....

Anyways.. objectively speaking ,the reason for mohini hating prerna is deep rooted and never addressed.neither by her husband nor her dear son...prerna is thopofied on her..it is getting messier and messier because nobody is ready to talk about it..rather just force their opinions on others.. ....mohini for a short while accepted prerna when she saw her saving anuraga life.....suddenly what happened that she switched sides again? Post bajaj anurag went on a self destructive spree all because of prerna not telling him the truth ..all that prerna has brought to anurag , in mohini s pov;is misery and pain . She is unable to see that in order to save anurag from prerna she is pushing him towards komo forcefully who will ruin them...(right now she doesnt know sona is komo) ..if given a chance prerna will win over mohini ..for that her husband and her son have a do a lot of ground work and not order her to accept prerna...

if molly thinks marriage is a joke ,its different...they consider sona as anurags wife and she is living with him under one roof ..what about that ? Anurags memory should come back then what?

Now for the slap things can be sorted without the slap but just to dramatize everything they just show it ...Idc for abusing n all....two mature adults indulging in slapping is not done.. although they could have done without it , may be it was necessary to rile up mohini further and make her turn totally evil..of course nothing will be sorted out this way...

IMO, fictional characters can do whatever they want as long as the audience watching them is entertained by them.

However when it comes to real life, there is no justification for slapping a partner, it is always an act of violence by a cowardly arsehole.

Moloy didn't do it with a wrong intention. He just gave one slap to his wife who is going on a wrong path. I know harming the person who does wrong things doesn't make him / her to correct their mistakes. But it's better than tolerating wrong doings of his wife. He had been patient for 25 years but how long he should wait more? Even our parents do the same thing when we did something wrong. Is that violence?

But the worst thing is that Mohini Basu still did not change her egoistic behaviour. Can't even imagine when and how it will happpen!

I don't expect much from this show in terms of the kind of message they're giving out. But to show a couple who have their differences but have had a fabulous marriage resorting to physical abuse in a conversation is just not done IMHO. Moloy should once in for all sit face to face with Mohini and logically counter her insecurities regarding Prerna and put his point across on why Prerna is the best suited for Anurag. Right now what Moloy is doing pushing Mohini to hate Prerna more with this act of slapping her.

Resorting to slapping is in no way justified in any kind of relationship ever!!

Thank you for the insightful post once again IF Love. it is good to see so such a well articulated and insightful post.

While i agree with you that all the slaps are not necessarily meant for hurling abuse, I can find absolutely no rhyme or reason for Moloy's slap to Mohini today.

No i don't like Mohini, the character. She has never been a good mother, neither is she a good human being and with regards to womanhood, she is a big blotch. But when it comes to being a wife, she has shown no reason to be called off on that front. So, it is the dynamics that has been built between Moloy and Mohini in their three decades plus conjugal life, that warrants Moloy's action redundant and distasteful.

Moh and Moloy have been married for around three decades and Moloy by now knows all the shades of Mohini. But he has never been shown to be abusive. The slap shows Moloy in a bad light. Besides, it is not the first time she has been nasty to Pre. Of course, this time Mohini has stepped out of line with regards to paternity of their unborn grandchild but then Moloy has lost the very moral ground of slapping Moh the day he let pregnant Pre out of Basu Bari without any guilt, remorse or even a slight hesitation. After the grave injustice meted to Prerna on that day (that too after calling her his daughter), Moloy no longer deserves to ride on his high horse and slap Moh.

However, I stand the ground that he should have tackled Mohini's vileness. For that purpose, the way he reprimanded Moh with regards to leaving house with AnuPre should have been enough... For added spice he could have simply questioned her worth as a woman and a mother... The whip of right words would have resonated much louder and more painful than what his slap could or couldn't do...

Bold - Yes, it is violence. Kids need to be explained patiently on the goods and bars, pros and cons of everything by the parents.

Kids who have gone through physical abuse by parents face a lot of psychological issues when they grow up and there are studies to prove this.

Yaar show ke liye jo justify karna hai kar sakte hain, I don't care.

But I had to reply to this because I don't think parents hitting kids and then saying ache ke liye maara is anyway justifiable. People go through a lot due to the childhood abuses they face, we can't just brush it off by saying it's for the kid's good.

I haven't mention about parents who abuse their childs dear. I just talked about one's who loves their children unconditionally. If that very child did something wrong which harms the society. It just broke their hearts. Today Moloy also like that. He just couldn't tolerate the way his beloved wife walking on.
