Otherwise grey characters are quite interesting and make amazing villians or anti-hero compared to plain white or black characters

I feel like weeping...

I'm reminiscing characters like Ammaji, Viraj Dobriyal and Maya

This is an open thread not an IO... There is no rule that one cannot quote the other's post... Stranger? LMAO... Even strangers can participate in a discussion happening between two friends, or have the rule changed of late? Misinterpret... Whatever floats your boat, eh?

I won't quote you ever again... As long as you do not glorify demons and satans, i won't quote you... PROMISe..

Have a good day too!!! And Peace out!!!

Dude, there was NO glorification, Am I not writing it correctly that there's no attempt of glorification of Ravana from my end because it goes against my faith.

Principle - A basic idea or rule that explains or controls how something happens or works.

Ravana had HIS OWN principle or set of rules doesn't mean those rules were RIGHT, is it not self explanatory? When I said that Good wins over evil, what is the glorification in calling someone evil?

You can definitely quote any post you wish to but do not repeat something which was never intended. You don't hold on to a fragment of conversation and insists upon demonizing of people on one sentence, you have to read what led up to it and if it is still not clear to you then I get that it is deliberate attempt from you to prove a point, I just want to see what will happen if you are indeed able to prove that I glorified Ravana? The notion disturbed me so brownie points for that, but what else?

@RD - Can you please delete this whole debacle?

We live in a country where there are temples of Ravan and people worship him toh agar koi Ravan ko glorify karta bhi hai toh isme itna bura manne ki baat nahi hai.

PS: IMO i don't think she was glorifying Ravan.

Exactly.

Weren't they villians? Of course they were. But yet a section of audience liked them.

Because those villians came with "layers". There were shades to them rather than being white or black.

That's what is a grey character. Contrary to people assuming that anti-hero or a hero with some flaw is Grey, No that's not how it happens.

Grey characters are villians . But they make the show interesting because of the amount of layers attached to them.

Lets not go around in circles please... You glorified Ravan is my opinion, especially when you tried to establish him as someone with boundaries and principles, when in my opinion and from whatever I have read of him tells a different tale..

You stated about Ravanas principles and boundaries in the same line as him being Lord Shiva's devotee... Right and wrong was not the argument you put forth then.

Sorry dude, I'm not a clairvoyant who can see what are the intentions of the person behind the keyboard. I was stating a fact that Ravan neither adhered to any principles nor built any boundaries when came to his lust.

I don't need to prove anything.... I'm not a forensic scientist. I wrote what has to be written, rest it is upto you whether you want these posts deleted or retain them. Please do the needful.

Peace out!!!

Of course I have no problem with glorification...

Even I will say that Ravan was a great scholar, man/demon of unprecedented wisdom, a great parton of science and art, a king par excellence, and one of the greatest warriors of all the time and many more.

Glorify him for the things that he actually signified. i fact I will gladly participate in such a debate and add on my two cents too. But lets not present him as someone with principles and boundaries, because that was not the case with him, especially when it came to women - case in point Goddess Parvati and Mata Sita.

@ Bold : Perceptions. So lets agree to disagree..

Both Jenny and KVB were fantabulous in their anti hero villainous roles....but I hated both the characters. But both those shows were about them only and there wasn't much focus on the other positive characters to give them more substance and meat to their roles....However, I still hated both these characters and was looking forward to have them pay for their deeds. Didn't like what happened with Saubhagyavati Bhava at the end though he did end up in an asylem....The message would have been stronger had they showed her successfully leave behind what happened with Viraj and became a survivor with a new start in life....As for Maya, they way they underplayed all the other characters and made just Maya with any brain didn't sit well with me.....yes psychos are smart, but others are not brainless either and there are many smart, intelligent people who are perfectly good and able to outwit these psychos....Why can't Indian shows keep a good balance?....Urgg.

I concur...

However, whenever I watched them, I sympathized with all my heart and hated with all my guts simultaneously. At times they were childlike and at times even instilled fear.

This is ITV... As long as you don't show something ilogical, audience will not flock in. Naagins and Makkhis are what get the highest ratings even today. So, although I resonate what you think about these characters, yet I'm happy that none of them was ever turned into a clown.

Back to KZK 2, please... Don't want you getting reprimanded because of me.😆🤗

It depends what kind of principles and boundaries she was talking about maybe it was nothing to do with Parvati and Sita because I didn't took it that way. Maybe Principles and boundaries in managing his kingdom because as far as I know he was pretty good king. I thought this principles and boundaries has everything to do with the 1st paragraph not about Sita & Parvati. When you mentioned Sita and Parvati even I was confused for a moment because I didn't seet it from that POV.

And as you said perception differs some people see Ravana as god and they worship him despite him doing all those nasty things and some thought of him as demon. Peace✌️
