I couldn't even watch a lot of those shows even though I loved their portrayals, it messed up with my head with shit loads of negativity, coz it was just TOO extreme. Actually, those shows weren't about balance. And I think I'd be able to answer your other questions better here. You felt they need to pay for their deeds. I never felt they had to do that, not because I believed they were right or they were not BIG bad deeds, but I was just too, too impressed with the characters' psych and their ability to mould everything around their own lives. Loving yourself, treating the world like shit and having your way requires shit loads of self-absorption. And I loved that.
And since I watched it through the eyes of Viraj or Maya alone, and not from the point of view of Good Vs Evil, I couldn't continue watching. Coz it got too much for me to take.
@Bold: I watched those two shows from their perspective too. If I would ever consider myself a fangirl ever(though I'm just not fangirl material) it would have been KVB. Viraj's antics were actually quite comedic even at some of the creepiest moments before they took things too far....but I watched the whole show....so even though their portrayals were excellent, it just gets to a point you really do hate these characters though knowing their psyche and how they turned the way they did, kind of makes you empathize with them. Yes they did take both of these shows too far.
