You are not wrong. Their behaviour is totally out of the place . Normally no parents would act like this with their sil ..here they were clueless about him , prernas marriage with him but still. He helped them in veena s case..at least they shouldn't be taking sides here. But he did become the reason for their humiliation in front of society of basus.. they sympathize more with anurag and rightly so.

I believe a wife's respect in her sasural is more dependent on how her husband builds the bridges ..and a son in laws respect in his wife's maayka is dependent on how the girl builds the bridges between them . Anurag failed to build a bridge between mohini and prerna and prerna couldnt do that with her family and bajaj..at least anurag is close to mohini but prernas relation with maayka is like what was shown today..they get bored in each others company or r plain disinterested in each others lives and relations.

The Sharmas were treated very badly by the writers from the beginning. Except Shivani, the rest have always been kabhi idhar toh kabhi udhar depending on what the writers smoke that day.None of the members in the family had any graph to begin with. The show has always revolved around the Basu family and BB😆Anurag showed more concern for Pre when she was about to get married to NB! The Sharmas were busy making fun of their damaad-to-be instead of talking to their daughter and finding out why she was marrying an old,creepy,twice-divorced guy😆When they never cared about Prerna, why will they care about her new husband? Except for Shivaani, I didn’t see any of them being disrespectful to Bajaj. Or did I miss something? Veena was awkward when he came to visit them not rude or disrespectful.

Bold - yaar their son in law was set on fire, and they were busy talking of prasad and who had the house keys! Anupam, and even Mohini n Tapur showed more concern

I don't remember his dialogue verbatim but didn't he tell Pre on their honeymoon that he is not interested in her romantically and also that he is capable of having more beautiful woman than Pre for some bucks? Then toh Pre was not even worth as much as those women. I mean then toh he was more interested in women with questionable morals than his blackmail karke hi sahi but his Mangalsutra pehenai hui wife.
