Honestly this whole show is such a mess that even sitting to debate about it is taxing. I mean why put your brains into something that's supposed to be illogical, mindless entertainment?
Prerna is one of the worst ITV characters ever, but even then, I feel like Anurag and his family have been so ridiculous in the past few episodes. All of them pressurizing her and putting the onus of his release on him. I mean how on Earth did Mohini think Prerna can get him released? What ON EARTH? Where is the logic? And Anurag doing the same. She'll get me out. She is there. You're there. My god the pressure. They were actually supposed to understand her mental space and tell her it'll be okay. That kind of ridiculous pressure and emotional blackmail shouldn't be brushed under the carpet either. Honestly it's just funny, how Prerna was suddenly the one with the power to get him released. What about the Basus' affluent connections or Nivi's brainsmarts? LOL. This show is so SO BAD, even talking about is a waste of your mental capacities.
And then of course, Prerna's mahanta circle and the stupidest move of all time. She's just going to marry him now. I can't with this girl. She hits a low every time and I don't even want to talk about her.
My main problem is with what they're doing to Bajaj. Instead of building a character from ground up, they're basing him off the hype of S1's Bajaj. Somehow he's already established. Somehow he's this big shot who keeps telling everyone what a bigshot he is. I wanted him to be cruel and a little psychopathic in his emotional range. Someone who actually came off as menacing and sent chills down your spine. He on the other hand is given scenes here and there to mouth heavy words and just act cocky. I'm not against the attitude, but it kind of ruins the kind of intensity and gravitas I expect from Bajaj. He's supposed to be dark and grey but THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE THE GUTS to portray him as that. It's an all-around frustrating watch tbh. And the only reason I'm sticking is because I've waited so long to see KSG do a grey role.
My same problem is with Bajaj as well. I don't want to see him turn goodie goodie right now. I want him to do those shady things again & again to restablish that he isn't a morally uptight man in conventional ways. I want to be one of those who hates to love Bajaj for things he does at this moment. But they are playing safe with him.
Klaus-Caroline, Damon-Elena are everyone's OTP of that era. They did shady things to Caroline & Elena & yet convinced audience to root for them when they showed character growth. Klaus begins with forcing Tyler to kill Caroline but then sweeps in to save her, wish her brithday with a present & a lesson on how she is made for more while Caroline says she hates him & he remains unaffected by that. That was a good grey character.
