Erica has to do better -DT NT Pg 8

Ever since I've started watching this show in bits and pieces, all I've been doing is criticizing acting. Because it's not like the plot is even worthy to warrant criticism. Anyway, watched the Bajaj/Prerna scenes. The way KSG had been "acting" lately, I figured Erica would be able to keep up with him. However, the reality is different. Erica is bad in every scene with him. It's not dialogue delivery or any such thing. It's screen presence. Put next to KSG, she has absolutely no screen presence at all. It's interesting because while Parth and her have contradictory strengths as actors- Parth's good diction and her lack of it, her emotional range and Parth's lack of it- they don't visibly overpower each other onscreen. That is to say, you could point out who is acting better or worse but it doesn't create a visible disconnection between the pair. However, this case is very different. KSG and Erica have similar strengths and weaknesses as performers in theory. Meh dialogue delivery and good emotional range. But KSG's screen presence (coupled with the character strength) is completely overpowering Erica's Prerna. She is reduced to being a teenager trying to make inconsequential points. KSG has his own dialogue delivery issues, I am tired of going over and over it. But he is picking up the calm-amused oscillation to a certain extent. Erica however, just looks disinterested, and worse, like a petulant teenager. It's a combination of the weak characterization and the mediocre acting. Her character is terribly written. She herself looks under-confident and shaken in every scene with Bajaj. She is acting and reacting how she is supposed to but there is no life to it. Every scene between them is being controlled by KSG's Bajaj, and no, it's not just because he has the better written character. For instance, the scene where she tells him "I feel hate for you", she had the stronger comeback on paper. But when executed, it again looked like she is a lifeless doll mouthing heavy lines. Where's the presence? To top it all off, KSG isn't even acting that well in this show.

I physically cringed at the precap, it was that bad. She is acting like a young adult throwing a childish tantrum. The contrast is especially bad because Bajaj appears to be perpetually calm. So this tantrum-throwing behavior is exceedingly intensified. It's unbearable to watch. She has to do better if this "pairing" is a go.

Well i am not a fan of ericas acting and her pairing with parth . But i feel this disconnect is more due to her weak characterization..she was bombastic in kuch rang , i loved her ther4 , infact i didnt even know who parth is , i saw the initial epis of kzk just for erica...n gave up on the serial totally as i found it too ott n idiotic... . Erica is capable of carrying a meaty role as she did in kuch rang pyar ke , the cvs must and MUST bring loads of attitude in her n thats when her scenes with ksg will be well balanced. More than what she did with komo . They both r good in emotional scenes (although i feel parth also aces them , given a good script ) so we need to see a good emotional bond only developing between bajaj and pre ..a different kind of unconventional bond ..in the later stages of course..

I have watched KRPKAB and I see the same flaws she had then and has now. If anything, Sonakshi's character concealed many of her visible flaws. That said, this character Prerna is also terribly written, so it's impossible for her to do much about it. It's not the crying, I don't mind a crying heroine at all. But it's the lack of life or energy behind her emotions. She is disappearing, dissociating. Weak characterization is a major part of it, certainly, but I am feeling a disconnection in her acting as well. She is failing to give voice to her frustration or anger.

This is the way many of us speak Hindi. In the sense, catholics who are raised and reside close to the church in and around Mumbai. Genelia D'Souza ( Ritesh Desmukh"s wife) speaks in a similar tone.

I have seen KRPKAB and she aced in emotional scenes or those typical Tashan fights between husband and wife.

I feel she is a director's actor vs Parth who brings in a certain individuality to Anurag.

Diction issues never existed in KRP for me atleast. She was loud and clear. Infact SS went pretty low in his tone.

KSG as Mr. Bajaj cannot act like a 20 year old teen, Prerna is very meek in front of him. Anurag had similar traits in front of Komolika, he just gave up and Prerna is doing the same.

When fear is ruled out, Prerna may stand against him. I see a very desperate Pre

KSG's acting abilities will be tested when he takes care of his wife who is bound to a contract. Till then the ball lies in his court.

Maybe Erica has to work on her diction if it is an issue.

I am the only one who thought KSG > Parth in BajRag scenes, given that Parth had most dialogues and basically the energy level of Anurag with his anger and frustration was higher than energy level of Mr. Bajaj who had calm and cool demeanor.

In Bajaj Prerna scene, Prerna was emotional with ridiculous dialogues, it did not create an impact for me, if anything I think she was wearing a wig and it distracted me. Mr. Bajaj was again calm but this time with better dialogues.

Why she says "A-rest" instead of "Arrest"?

In kuch rang Shaheer and Erica were bomb ..such a fantastic chemistry I am yet to see but I am having some hopes from KSG and Erica pairing becoz for me respect and maturity comes before any feels or push pull type love story. .I don't care how bad or ruthless is bajaj but one thing I know he is best for Prerna...

I am rooting for good mature love story between PreRish and I am sure she is going to improve a lot ..She is best at subtle scenes and here in kzk most of the time it has been ott and rona dhona for her.

Right now with his chracterization of Bajaj, KSG is better than everyone in this show. That's because his characterization & dialogues are powerful which demand an aura & body language, which KSG portrays convincingly. As for diction, KSG has a different voice tone which comes naturally to him. Some have very clear voices, some don't. But I can hear him perfectly, same applies to Erica but her characterization is very poor right now.

On the contrary, I felt Erica did an excellent job. Sure her diction is a little problematic. But she emoted well. That is how Prerna had to look in this scene. Haari hui .... Frustrated, weak and majboor . And she played the part well
