Do boys and girls in India get married while in college?!

This seems rather new to me ..I have not lived in India for most of my life ..We moved to the US when I was a kid ..but I have a lot of cousins in India ..and no one even "thinks" about marriage and stuff while in college - sure a few of them have boyfriends ..but even so no one gets married while still in college to my knowledge .. and I think boys marry a little later than girls do in India, if i'm not mistaken ..So i'm just surprised that we see the Basu's so keen on marrying Anu even before he's finished his studies ..I mean I understand now Mohini has a rush due to Prerna ..but even before that she kept looking for girls for him ..I remember the count had gotten up to 51 or something .. please shed some light on the marriage age trends in india

I am going to turn 29 and I still consider myself young isliye haven't married yet😆

Can't imagine 20 year old teens marrying

I know ..I have cousins who are close to 30 in india who are still single ..and who still don't feel the rush to marry either!!

Telly serials do not reflect how people live in India...especially Indian TV serials...So stop treating them as an encyclopedia for indian culture..

But Anurag is some undefined age whereby he was doing higher studies in the UK and living in with a girl doing the same. That was two years ago and he is not studying again...maybe he is in his late 20s?

did you read my post fully - of course i'm under the impression that no one gets married (that early)..but the only Indians I know in india are my cousins ..and that's a very small subset of india's large population!! ..and since the Basu's are shown to be a progressive forward family - I was just curious! ..please read my post again ..there is no underlying offence in there!!!

I was actually offended just by reading the title...and they i got really worked up and posted a very sarcastic reply...but really dear..before i could edit it and delete all that rubbish I wrote, you read it...sorry about all that...no hard feelings eh!!😊

ust a few days ago someone commented on the way Indians use English... I try not to ...but I just explode to such posts...working on myself.😆

when i m in hostel my two friends got married just after final semster

i india when u trun 25 faimly start thinking about their children marriage

i think anu is 23 or 24 truning soon 25 thats why this marriage

Yea😳 I mean I still feel m a teen. In fact the feeling that I will b 30 next year hasnt settled yet.

Mom gets so annoyed that I don't even look at the proposals that they get for me .I m like "don't b silly, who marries so young " 😆

And she is like, I had 2 kids when I was your age..

😲 I guess times have changed
