Cezanne-Shweta
It's been exactly five years since Shweta Tiwari and Cezanne Khan shot for the title montage of Balaji's Kasautii Zindagii Kay. The celebration of episode No 1,001 of the drama got the two actors backs together, shooting for the title track.
"It was a very emotional moment for me", says Shweta. The actress reveals that shooting it with Cezanne definitely felt different this time around.
"Five years ago, we were strangers, and both of us were new and raw. Today, after completing 1,000 episodes, we have gone through many ups and downs and evolved as actors and human beings."
When asked how it felt getting into the same outfit again and re-shooting the song, she says, "Can you believe it, I actually fit into the salwaar kameez I wore then? It goes to show that I can never gain weight."
However, on a serious note, she adds, "Shooting the title track during the start of the show was very mechanical; we did it because we were told to. But when it redid it a couple of days ago, I could relate to each and ever word of the song. The emotions that Anurag and Prerna have gone through have been beautifully described in the song."
Sunahari yaadein
Cezanne's experience was similar. "Kasautii has given me the lifestyle and independence that everyone craves for," he says.
"I still remember the day when Kasautii hoardings went up in the city. I woke my mother in the middle of the night and dragged her to Bandra Reclamation, to show her the billboards. She had tears in her eyes when she saw my face on them. I can never, ever forget that night."
Shweta's most cherished memory was of doing a dramatic court scene, without any glycerine, in one take.
"This was a scene where I was pregnant with Sneha, and asking for divorce from Anurag in court. It was a five-to-six-page scene, and the shot was okayed in one take.
After it was aired, I got calls from people, praising my performance. Ekta (Kapoor) called me to meet her, and told me she appreciated my acting. For over a month, I kept getting calls from fans and actors, complimenting me for the scene."
Dedicated to work
How does she manage to create magic with Cezanne on the show, despite having differences with him, Shweta says, "On the set, we work as Prerna, Anurag and Mr Bajaj. We may not get along with each other, but there is no doubt about the dedication and honesty that each one of us puts into our characters."
