I don't think he would have come back to Prerna either. And yeah - he died when Mukti did; because he lost all that UDness that attracted us to him in the 1st place...hmmm...this is an interesting concept and one that I wanted to see for a long time. If Ekta won't give it to us, we'll just have to figure out another way 😈

Sneha - after the rape track, she should have pulled a Shruti and blasted at Sneha for the way she treated her. Instead, she acted as if nothing had ever happened On Mukti's behalf, I was furious!

Totally Sneha was a cow. But Sneha has always been wrapped in wool, no one calls her on her shit ever😡 I personally also think she was a little too quick to forgive Prerna and co too.

I was watching the Valentines vid the other day and have to say although it was totally out of character the fact that Mukti did sleep with Prem when she did was a really big thing in making me find her that much more interesting and facinating. That moment of weakness and vulnerablity just really surprised me.

Nats, one thing I loved about PM was that they fought about everything under the sun. And their fights were not a result of the usual "third-party" intervention/misunderstanding - it was because they were so different. At the time, we hated UD for not admitting that he loved Mukti, but now that I look back on those eps - it makes me kinda sad. He truly didn't want to hurt her - he just didn't love her. Or if he did, he didn't know it. She couldn't understand how he couldn't understand her love; and he couldn't figure out why she blamed him for something that wasn't his fault. It was heartbreaking but so beautiful 😳

Oh for the first time I was happy with the way Balaji showed it!! usually it's pathetic 🤢 but I thought the frustration, anger, weakness of both characters at that point looked very natural. And hats off to MT for doing the scene with conviction.

very well put Vasu. As always I gotta agree with you!😆 But what you said has made me think.....did he love Mukti from the start or did it happen gradually? Do you think he always loved her but just didn't realize coz he was always so confused? what do you think?

I always though Prems problem was he didn't really understand himself let alone anyone else. He was so emotionally stunted, any concept of feeling beyond "warm body for the night" and "money for me" was lost on him. It was Mukti's steadfstness and stength of feeling that got through to him more than anything else, thats why I always got a "made for each other" vibe from them. She was the only one to make him make sense. As Vasu says it was beautiful (and way too deep fro Ekta)

You know, I didn't like it at the time, but in retrospect - I totally see Mukti's reasons for doing what she did that night. At the time, as a woman I wanted to slap her - sleeping with a guy who was all set to sleep with another woman five minutes before her...it seemed so degrading. But having looked at the bigger picture - Mukti saw something in Prem that no one else could see, because he wouldn't let them. She gave him what he needed (but would never admit to) - love.

Oooh! I was off somewhere else, and looks like I missed a gr8 discussion.
Actually Vasu, I liked how mukti handled everything post-rape/court case. It was like i'm going to forget all the bad stuff but not the lessons it taught me. If you notice, she wasn't all like Choti maa, sir the way she was in the past. She was more careful and reserved around them, not wandering and entering at will in the Bajaj house. It made me feel bad when I noticed it but also I was a little like 'good for you, girl. you can do fine on your own.' She also tended to stay out of their family matters, no jhasoosi or anything. She just let it be. Like with Debo, she knew something was up. The old Mukti wld have pulled a dtective act to get to the truth, but not the new Mukti. She just shrugged and let it go. I really really liked that. Poor Mukti! 😕

Agreed. Nats - I believe he always loved her. From the minute she changed those files😆 and outsmarted him, he was hooked. Of course, the love thing crept up on him. But his problem was that he just didn't know what love was. He had a hard enough time figuring himself out. Love complicated things. He was content, as dee said, to keep things simple - one-night stands and no hooks, strings, attachments. Being unattached made him impervious to pain, or so he wanted to think. But Mukti stuck around; she showed him that she wasn't like Aparna, Prerna or any other person who came and went from his life at her whim and fancy. She didn't love him for his money or his "bees-saal-baad-returned" status. She loved him despite who he was; maybe because of who he was. In fact, for no reason that he could fathom, she just loved him. Full stop. And that scared the crap out of him. So he backtracked and hurt her to avoid being hurt himself.

Dee - PM was the one creation of Ekta's that went beyond her capacities - I don't think she realises what genius she created until much later on...and I guess she couldn't handle it
