But having looked at the bigger picture - Mukti saw something in Prem that no one else could see, because he wouldn't let them. She gave him what he needed (but would never admit to) - love.

That is also so in character with the old Mukti. Charging in, with total trust. And I completely agree with you abt Prem. His point of view was right in a way. He didn't love her. (or didn't know it.) He didn't pretend to her, he didn't try to deliberately hurt her, it was just how he felt.

Can you blame the poor guy for being so messed up? His life was a drama from start to finish. And in an episode he also said that he was born not just illegitimate but his sole purpose was to save his sister. And look at everything else he went thru. The first time he tried to change, slap slap slap for something he didn't do. Grrrr! Makes me boil to think of it. How else do you expect the wounded to react?!! They strike back, at everyone and everything! My poor baby! 😭 😭 😭

But his problem was that he just didn't know what love was. He had a hard enough time figuring himself out. Love complicated things. He was content, as dee said, to keep things simple - one-night stands and no hooks, strings, attachments. Being unattached made him impervious to pain, or so he wanted to think. But Mukti stuck around; she showed him that she wasn't like Aparna, Prerna or any other person who came and went from his life at her whim and fancy. She didn't love him for his money or his "bees-saal-baad-returned status. She loved him despite who he was; maybe because of who he was. And that scared the crap out of him. So he backtracked and hurt her to avoid being hurt himself.

Dee - PM was the one creation of Ekta's that went beyond her capacities - I don't think she realises what genius she created until much later on...and I guess she couldn't handle it

I agree Vasu but I also wonder if maybe she saw it getting too deep and figured the audience wouldn't like it (I dont think everyone likes overanalysing and actually watching stuff that makes you think😉) - but I don't know, either way she ruined an excellent story with her stupid "twists".

I know Nikki. And I agree with you about how Mukti turned her life around after the rape. She was still Mukti - still refusing the family car and preferring buses, still independent and strong. But she was definitely not "choti ma's choti beti" anymore - she was a survivor in her own right. I think that the whole ep with the family scarred her - she was even more cautious around Rishabh; more hesitant around Sneha etc...it was sad, but they deserved worse.

So she deliberately sabotaged a work of art so that she could dumb her show down for the masses? Then she's a bigger fool than I thought - and she certainly doesn't deserve to call herself "creative" 🤢

I think Prem loved her from the start too, he just didnt know it. I think he did love her that night (but wasnt ready to see that). The way he looked at her and did try to leave says a lot to me about him, actually aknowledging her feelings was a huge step for him anyway.

Totally agree though Nikki, Aparna messed him up good n proper and Mother India militant pyar didn't really help too much.

yes, if Ekta hadn't bumped off Mukti, brought in the clone, and blah blah....I would be smiling lie this > 😃 but after those crappy twists...I'm like this> 🤢
PM storyline was so young, fresh, youthful and both characters had a lot of spunk.Sometimes I can't believe that those scenes were done by a Balaji scrpt writer!!

And I also feel that UD, from the very first time he met the lil dynamite Mukti.....fell for her!😆 He just realized very late

very well said vasu di! mukti loved him for watever he waz and i think she started liking him when he saved her several times; like when she got drunk or at the panchmeshwar dance. she thought that he did have a heart underneath that mask of UD. And she always sticked wid him even when he wasn't "prem", she tried to make him understand wat he waz doing wrong. Ekta did make a wonderful creation but unfortunately it didn't last long

Mother India really didn't understand the whole "carrot and the stick" approach - less of the stick and more of the carrot should have set him straight...

I know - the thing that redeemed him on that night was the fact that he wanted to leave - because he knew he couldn't give her what she wanted, and he didn't really want to cheat her. But he wanted some love too (and some lovin', no doubt 😆 )

Hee! I don't know how her brain works but while she ruined them all I will give whoever in Ektaland deserves credit for Prem/Mukti and Shruti/Paro/Om total dues
