Was a little bored this week. And Vasu is a really bad influence😉 😆

Chapter 7

"Here's the file you needed" UD looked up so see Shruti enter his office and throw the file onto his desk. UD raised his brow at her

"Nice of you to finally turn up" he said

"I've been keeping up with the work," Shruti said, a little defensively

"Work that could have been finished in half the time if you'd come in earlier like you were supposed to" UD accused her.

"Well I'm here now," Shruti bristled. UD watched her, too much restless energy to be contained; she was fidgeting with her hands as she stood in front of him. She looked great, he was surprised at how pleased he was to see her again. He didn't want to admit he had missed her.

"And it only took you almost a week" UD said archly "I'm surprised you were so chicken, the mighty Shruti Agarwal" he mocked

Shruti's hands curled into fists as she tried to control her anger "I was not chicken." She ground out "I was just busy with other things"

"Sure you were" UD said "Busy hiding from me"

"I wasn't hiding, or chicken or whatever you want to say. Maybe I just had enough of looking at you and felt like a break" she said angrily

"Don't insult my intelligence" UD countered, "We kissed, you ran away and I haven't seen you since"

Shruti sighed, he wasn't making this easy. So much for her big denial, the "pretend it didn't happen" plan. She looked over at him, as he sat in the chair. There was an edge about him that he was finally showing and it attracted her to him. No, she told herself, you don't like him. The last thing you need is another relationship- remember Sameer. Aryan, they always go bad -not that he does relationships anyway, and you're not exactly a one night girl so don't go there.

"It didn't mean anything," she said. UD looked at her questioningly "The kiss" she clarified "it meant nothing. Just a mistake"

"Ok" UD drawled, trying work out how her felt about that. On one hand he was kind of glad she was dismissing it, it meant they had a chance of staying friends on the other hand it was a really good kiss, how could she write it off so easily?

"So we're still friends?" he asked

"Yes" Shruti agreed in relief "Friends. That's it"

"Cool" UD said. Getting up to shake hands with her "Friends"

Shruti was a little confused by his behaviour but took his hand anyway

"And no more trying to kiss me" she added and winced immediately. Wishing she could take that back.

UD frowned and tightened his grip on her hand "There were two of there. Princess. You weren't exactly a statue"

Shruti tried to twist her hand free "You kissed me" she repeated, more to convince herself than him, "Just don't do it again"

"But you liked it so much" UD said, using their connected hands to pull her closer to him "you most definitely joined in"

"I did not join in," Shruti said indignantly "I was surprised, and I pushed you off"

"So it did nothing for you?" UD asked, moving in closer still "If I did it again, you would just scream?"

"Uh huh" said Shruti becoming distracted by his closeness. She felt her heart starting to beat a little faster.

"So right now if I put my lips to yours, you wouldn't react," UD asked softly, pleased he was getting to her. He wasn't unaffected though, his own heartbeat was racing, and his breathing becoming a little shallower.

Shruti was dismayed. She really wanted to kiss him. She hadn't forgotten what it felt like, the memory was burned into her brain. She found herself leaning forward and grabbing him.

She was kissing him. UD couldn't believe it, he only meant to wind her up, he hadn't expected it to go this far, but he wasn't going to stop it. He put his arms around her and kissed back, it was better than last time-if that was even possible.

UD had no idea how long they had been kissing, when he heard music. He was confused, he couldn't believe the their kisses were powerful enough to make music. He realised Shruti had stopped kissing him and was trying to break out of his arms. He looked at her, uncertainty showing on his face.

"Your phone is ringing" Shruti hissed at him. He let her go as he answered his phone. Shruti took a moment to sort herself out. Her hair was mussed from his hands. She finger combed it and straightened her top as she tried to think about what had just happened. She'd kissed him, she couldn't even blame him for this one. It was all her. What was wrong with me? I don't even like him half the time and apparently that doesn't even bother me. What was she supposed to do now? Clearly denial wasn't working. She was going to have to come up with a better plan.

"Sonia, yeah. Sorry about that. Tonight, I remember" UD said, flinching. He knew Shruti could hear him. He wanted to hang up and sort things out with Shruti but Sonia just wouldn't shut up. He figured agreeing with her would make her hang up faster but it wasn't working. He saw Shruti's face clouding over with rage and knew she most definitely heard him.

"I'll call you later" he ended the call.

"So Sonia huh? Big date tonight?" Shruti said angrily. She couldn't believe she'd just kissed a guy who was already making dates with random women.

"It's not what you think. I already had plans with her" UD said, "I didn't know you were coming here"

"I don't want to know. Its not like there's anything going on with us" Shruti said, but the words sounded false to her. She didn't know what was happening but something obviously was.

"Don't play dumb." UD said, anger rising in his voice "There's something here. I don't understand it but since you can't keep your hands off me you must feel it too"

"You arrogant, insufferable ass" Shruti shouted at him "I'm not the one with a harem looking for additions"

UD cringed, he probably deserve that. Anger made him say the wrong things. "Ok. Look, I'm sorry. But we need to talk. We can't just leave it like this"

"Fine" said Shruti "but not now. I have work to do. Maybe tonight…Oh! I forgot. Tomorrow night." From the look on UD's face Shruti knew the jibe had hit home. She was being a bitch, but she was unsettled, it was only fair he suffer a little too.

"Have fun with Sonia" she said as she flounced out of his office.

UD watched her leave. Confused. He couldn't decided if he was mad cos he still wanted her or irritated that she got the last word again. That was becoming a bad habit. So much for just friends, he sighed....

*Wooh!* You know, you're the real bad influence...the last time I read your ff, I was inspired to make my UD-Shruti sig....and I thought I was beginning to calm down again when lo and behold! The lady comes back with an even more disturbing update! 😆 😆 What am I supposed to do now?

God - this really makes me wish we could see them together...and not just Manoj and Tina...actually UD and Shruti!
