Chetan is born & brought in Mumbai. From 32 years he has been in Bandra, he is a typical Bandra boy. Mom is doctor, pathologist and dad is a businessman.
Everyday with parents is an emotional day for Chetan. They are always with him, always supported him for anything he did. Even when he was doing nothing for one two years, his parents didn't say anything to him, other parents would have thrown their kids out.
School- Jamunabai Nursee in juhu. He feels very emotional every time he passes through his school. He had best times there. It was a huge school.
Chetan was a child artist till 16. He has fond memories as a child actor. Chetan remembers when for the first time he went to France with Gulzar, Khalid Mohammad. He was 14 at that time. That was the first time he went to abroad.
Chetan was not good at studies as he was a child actor and would be most of them time shooting. He never used to do homework so he used to get lots of remarks as. Sometimes he used to take sign by his parents and sometime he sued to sign himself being embarrassed from remarks.
Chetan's closest childhood friend from school is Vishal Gandhi. They were really close in school but parted from college. They met recently in a movie premiere. Vishal is his best friend and like a brother. They used to spend their vacations at each others house. Chetan is not so much in touch with him now.
School teachers: Colin Demonty. She was Chetan's class teacher. She was very protective to them. There used to be fight in classes and she used to protect them. She was Chetan's favorite teacher in school.
College- Mithibai College. Chetan remembers his college canteen. He never attended college from six month after 11th, so he doesn't know much about college. There used to be a lukka corner in college from where lots of actor and directors have came out. All guys used to be hang around there. Vj Ranbir from channel v was there, Sajid khan, the host was his senior, Sajid just passed out when Chetan entered college. Chetan knows him from college. Lots of people from lukka corner are now successful people.
Chetan was in acting from his childhood. His cousin (Juggal Hansraj) used to act and model, after seeing him Chetan told his mother that he also wants to act. She then started sending his photographs to different people. He started acting since he was 5 yr old.
As Chetan was a model, he didn't have to struggle. Till 16 he did modeling and acting. And from the age of 27 he again started acting. He struggled for 2 years; he didn't get any work in that period. Then he got 'kkusum' in tv and he did well.
No body helped him during that period apart from the family.
First break: Luckily from Chetan, Kushal his friend was supposed do a show in balaji. At that time Chetan was doing nothing, so Kushal called him and told him to come there with his photographs.. Chetan went there and gave photographs, they liked it, they called him for audition, and he did very well there, and got the show 'kkusum'. Chetan thanks his luck for that. Kkusum was his first serial. He did one ups before that in like 'ssshhhh koi hai.' with Pawan Kaul with whom he is doing a movie. Pawan is directing it and Nari Hira is producing it. In the movie Chetan has nice positive role, something that people don't expect from him.
Right now Chetan is doing 'kahani ghar ghar ki', he will start doing 'kasuti zindagi ki' after sometime. Balaji is like a house for Chetan. Everybody there knows him and he knows everybody from Balaji. He can visit any set any time and chill there.
Man Friday: Chetan had a boy who was always be with him but he ran away with his maid. He was the only boy that Chetan had.
Pets: Chetan used to have 13-14 cats, some of them died, some they left in fish market, as they couldn't handle them, some ran away with male cats and the mother cat died sometimes back now they have no pets.
Once Chetan was beaten by guys, Chetan's leg was hurt and when his brother came to know about that, he went to them and hit the shit out of them. . His brother used to be very protective and is protective till now. Chetan had lots of fight with his brother in childhood but they love each other.
People who made difference in life: parents, family, Lavinia, friends. He has nice group of friends and they have been with him all the time. Tony, Muneer, Wazil. Was always there with him during the time when he was not doing well, they supported him, encouraged him. He knows tony and munner from past 15 years, Wazil for past 10 years.
Influenced most not alive: Nanny in dubai. She used to look after him when he was a kid. She is no more now. She was very dear to Chetan as he grew up in her hands.
Incident: The day Chetan joined Balaji. He remembers the day very clearly. He was hesitant to sign the contract as he dreamt of doing only movies and he didn't knew much about TV, it was not like what it is today. He was confused and he called Tony and asked him. Tony told him that after some months he will be earning more than a CEO of a company earns. Just do it, trust him, just do it. Chetan went and signed the contract. When he walked out of gate of Balaji, he felt very relaxed like thousands of kg weight has been lifted out from his head. He remembers that evening, it was nice and bright and it changed his life. He was a nothing person then. He would have never imagine seeing himself in paper doing movies and TV after 2-3 years of struggle that he did before that. That contract with Balaji changed his life.
Enemies: No enemies, if Chetan is angry with someone he won't see his face and just walk through them and he will never acknowledge them.
Most embarrassing moment- At Gladrags in the year 2001. When Chetan went to stage and they asked him a simple question, he just froze, he doesn't know why. If he had answered that question he would have probably won that contest. He answered very badly but still he came third and he got the best physique award. He don't know what happened to him on stage , he just went talking 'blah blah blah' and he didn't knew what was coming out from his mouth. His brother was there and he remember looking at him like 'oh no'.
Chetan: Ekta because of her only he got the life, lavinia, a baby, a car . He wants to thank her for whatever he is today. Without her casting in the role, he has, looked after him, gave him role after role and making him work to make a name for him. So she is the most influence person for Chetan. He feels that she guides his career. She gave him show 'kasuti zindagi ki' recently.
Chetan met lavinia through common friends at metaphera disc. He had a fight with Tony and muneer and he went to disc alone. Lavinia was there with her friends.
Chetan wants to do movies and wants to continue doing shows he feels that he can do well in films and could get a filmfare or something like that or go abroad and do some movies there and then retire.
No regrets
One day Sandeep Sikand the creative head of ' kahani ghar ghar ki' of came to Chetan and told him that Ekta has finalized him for 'kahani ….' and he gave one line narration of the role that is of a male bitch. Sandeep asked Chetan is it ok with him. He said yes and then Ekta ns Sandeep developed Chetan character. Writer Mahesh the way his gave character instants, the dialogue writer and everybody gave Chetan character something. It was initially there for only four months but it impacted people so much that people now call him 'shasha'. Now he again has come back in that shows. It's incredible how the character came up and changed his whole e career. Before that no one knew Chetan and after that now everyone knows him in india and abroad when he went to do some shows.. When Chetan joined Balaji, Ekta told him that just give her six months, she will make him a star and that's what happened. 'kahani' was biggest thing that Chetan has done till date.
Chetan is right now doing a historical 'prithviraj chouhan'. Its format is bit different and Chetan has fun doing it. He will do 'kasauti'. It's a negative character but totally different from what Chetan has done earlier.
