''Casting couch'' phenomenon is not new: Ronit Roy
Small screen actor Ronit Roy on Thursday said the infamous ''casting couch'' in the film industry was an old phenomenon and co-star Aman Verma had fallen prey to a trap laid in the guise of investigative journalism. "Casting couch is an old phenomenon in show business ... it is not new," he said adding it was only now that women were coming forward to lodge complaints with authorities. Defending Verma, who figured in a sting operation of a television news channel, Roy said his colleague had fallen prey to a trap laid in the name of investigative journalism. "I feel that Verma was exploited," he said adding that his co-star "is a bachelor ... there is nothing wrong in him meeting girls."
