Today's eppy was one looooooooooooooong bhashan: AVOID IT IF YOU CAN
Prerna arrives at the police station where she comforts a crying Sneha...boo hoo...Doris tells Prerna that she tried speaking to the Inspector but he's reluctatnt to let her go. Prerna goes to talk to him.
Is it me or does the inspector look worryingly like Inspector Sawant of the rape case? A case of judwa bhai lost in the Kumbh Mela?
He tells Prerna that this is a serious case (ya think?) and that the guy she hit is in the hospital and until they receive his statement, they cannot let Sneha go. Don't let her go for all I care, at least if she's inside, she won't be able to bore us stiff with her tears...tell you what, give her some space in Sharad's cell...there they can patch up or she can really beat him to death , either way, its win-win for us...
The inspector advises Prrena to arrange for a lawyer (lol, every time they say "vakeel" it reminds me of "vehicle" ) and to arrange for bail if there is a case on her...
Prerna thinks that they will have to call "Mr. Bajaj" now...how ridiculous is it that she still calls him that? She is about to call him when in pop Sneha's saviours (Why, God, WHY? ) Mahesh and.....Prem
Mahesh tells Prerna that he was at the hospital with the police when the guy gave his statement. Mahesh explained to the guy that Sneha made a mistake and the guy didn't file a case. Oh WOW, so that's how one gets away with these things!! OK, next time I MURDER someone, I'll just use the defence of "Sorry, I made a mistake" Oh wait...does that only work if my name is Sneha?
Mahesh says that it was good that Prem arrived straight away and told Mahesh everything, otherwise, things could have gotten out of hand....out of hand? Just wait till you get home, then you'll see what "getting out of hand" means. Prerna looks at Prem with motherly pride, until he goes and ruins it with a comic, "Mother India, you have trained your daughters well. Aap hi ki tarha baat baat pe danda utha leti hai" So true, baby, so true........
Prerna looks at him in exasperation and he takes a step back and stops talking....
Mahesh arranges to take Sneha home and Prem says "Chaliye Mother India ki beti....Sister India" this was the only comedy and the only good scene throughout the entire eppy, so watch this if you want.
At Bajaj House, Rishu is waiting in his best nightgown (it must be his best, he's had it for the better part of 30 years! ) for his delinquent family to arrive...is there anyone in his family who hasn't been to jail at one point?? Prem, Sneha, Prerna and even himself were all at one point at the mercy of the law....must be contagious...
In come the band of criminals lead by the Bandit Queen herself, Sneha...the look in Rishu's eyes is MURDEROUS...jaise kacha chaba jayega sab ko....wouldn't put it past him...start with Sneha, please, start with Sneha!
He blames Doris for what has happened to Sneha...now Rishu, this is unfair, how is it Doris's fault that his good-for-nothing daughter has a few screws loose in her head? Or should I say, is very close to losing her head completely?
Now Rishu starts on Prerna, reducing the poor girl to tears...Rishu honey, if you wanna humiliate your wife, do it in private please....and why hasn't that crybaby Sneha opened her mouth yet? Just stand there and watch your mother take the blame, as usual...
Rishu once again praises Prem for getting there on time and solving everything, adding more fuel to the Prem-Tushar feud, which methinks will explode in some way or another one of these days...
Finally "Stupidity, thy name is Sneha" speaks up and says that it was all her fault...then she starts her sob story again Sorry to all Sneha fans, but I just cannot garner anymore sympathy for this girl....
She tells him that she drank alcohol and become even more depressed...well DUH! Its hardly a happy pill, is it?
Rishu still shifts the blame on Doris, that for the first time she took her out and let Sneha drink alcohol? Let? Sneha is not an eight-year old anymore Rishu, she is a grown, stupid and foolish woman who can make her own mistakes, which she does, regularly...but Rishu is stuck on his zidd that everyything is Doris's fault...wonder why he hates her so much?
He begins attacking Doris's character, her sanskaar etc. He says that to support her "lifestyle", she needs money, which is why she has latched onto Tushar.....and finally, Tushar breaks. For the first time, he speaks out against his dad...its the end of an era
He says the despite knowing Bajaj's feelings about Doris, he has kept quiet because he knows that the right to be angry lies only with the elders of the house, and it is the childrens' duty to listen....whether it is right or wrong. Well said...
He says that Rishu even took out his anger at Tushar's work--he demoted him from the MD position and yet he said nothing, but today Rishu has insulted his wife and he cannot accept that. He won't take it. Way to grow a backbone, Tushar...
He says that his wife was not with another man, they were all her friends, and that even though he knows that they have a different culture, a different lifestyle, Doris is still his wife. He says that Rishu's gussa is "sar aankhon par" but he should not say anymore about Doris.
He says that if someone were to insult Prerna, would Rishu accept it? Rishu again turns the whole argument against Doris. OK, the argument is way too long to repeat here, but suffice to say, Ronit's dialogue delivery is great, as is that of every other actor....this scene may not be the best we've seen, but is=t sure has some wonderful tension and emotion emanating from the actors and their acting... kudos to all.
Sneha once again butts in, telling everyone to stop arguing because of her. Rishu starts wondering at what Doris has done to his children: the kids who never shouted at him before, all because of this girl, they will make eyes at him.
Prem sticks his two cents in: it's just about a drink. Actually, its about Assault and Battery, but whatever...Prem, you seem to be rejoicing in the fact that your sister is slowly (or fast) becoming an alki just like you...maybe you can go on binge-drinking sessions together?
He tells Tushar that if he is so upset about losing the MD-ship, he can take it back...Tushar says he doesn't need or want it....its not about the MDship anyway....Prem tells him not to take his frustrations out on him...both start fighting and it almost comes to arms...Prerna stops both of them. Looks like Mahabharata is ascending again....with Prerna as the Lord Krishna trying desperately to stop war....
She tells them "Aren't you ashamed to fight in front of your parents?" What's that got to do with it? Should they hide from you and fight? Besides, if Maa-Baap fight like this in front of everyone, then kids will learn from them, right?
Prerna says that while she has no umeed from Prem (Prerna, remember, umeed na bhi ho phir bhi milega "Umeed se dugna!") but Tushar should behave.
Kuki Madam butss in with a "why is there so much difference between Prem and Tushar?" If Prem is allowed to bring dozens of girls home and to live his life on his own terms, then why is Tuskhi being punished for marrying of his own choice? Sneha agrees with Kuki....I still think that there is something big that Bajju is not telling us or his family, he is not the kind of guy to freak out over a gori girl being his bahu and nor is he one to do something without a little logic or coherence. But why he doesn't tell anyone, no one knows.
Everybody leaves for their rooms, heading in separate directions, indicating a separation of paths. Or maybe just the fact that their rooms are in different places....
Mahesh tells Prerna and Rishu that thet are both right in their own places...way to be diplomatic! He says that they must both change their ways of thinking and bring them to concurrence with each other, otherwise the children will suffer. He leaves.
Prerna and Bajju have a long conversation about the rights and wrongs of their separate thoughts. Prerna tells him that she sees their house slowly breaking, the office differences WILL seep into the family life and that is what has happened. She tells him that when children grow up, parents too should grow up with him...and that it is their fault that the children are thus divided. Rishu tells her that it is all her fault, he had warned this girl from living here, but Prerna had taken her responsibility. It is all her fault.
She blames him and he blames her blah blah blah...it goes on till the end.
*wearily* That's all folks...word of advice, don't watch the ep, just watch Prem's part which is somewhere close to the first 5 minutes....other than that, skip, skip skip.
