Like in Mother India the movie? Actually, that's what I thought a couple of weeks ago too... that at the end Prerna will end up shooting Prem/UD. Also, notice that Prem/UD talked about the movie Mother India quite a lot, and he often referred to its ending where the mother ends up shooting her son. Interestingly, though, he tells Prerna that he doesn't like the climax.

yeah no kidding though... Ekta isn't stupid... killing the character of Prem will result in the downfall of KZK. Plus, she knows (like millions others) that Indians HATE absolute HATE sad endings.

So I think the death of Prem by Mother India will not happen. Instead, what will happen is the death of UD by Mother India's (and Basanti's) love, and the transformation and liberation of Prem.

Prem is super scared of emotional attachments. WHen he was flirting with Mukti, it was harmless and without any strings attached... so he enjoyed her company as he enjoyed being with a "nice gal." But the moment she told him "I love you" the commitment and the emotional attachment of that scared the crap out of him. No wonder he put on such a shocked expression and simply ran away from her, without even replying to her question. Prem/UD is afraid of emotional attachments.

He liked her and I think he still cares for her. But he probably wants to make her and make himself think that he really doesn't care a hoot about her. I think he figures words really can't hurt her... so he taunts her to make her stop loving him and to make himself think he doesn't really care about her. But it's funny he goes only as far as words -- I was surprised he tells the goon to threaten Mukti (to take back the case) but "choona thak nahi" (not even touch her) to threaten her. Why would he say that if deep down he didn't have some sort of humanity, some sort of concern for Mukti?

I was really suprised by another scene. After Mukti declares to the whole family that Prem raped her, he goes and finds her and tells her it's not him. He also advices her to get rid of words such as "emotion" "love" etc. and that she's too sentimental... look at him and how happy he is without it all. He is really dirty when he tells her (after all the crap that happened between them) that they can continue what they did in Panchmeshwar again. I think the only reason he said something so low down was to make her feel he slept with her, but has nooooo feelings for her, and he would gladly sleep again provided there are no strings attached. I think he wanted her to know he doesn't care about anyone, even Mukti.

It's so interesting that whenever Prem is disturbed (like at the graveyard when Prerna begs his forgiveness, or at the disco when he learns Prerna is him mom, or before sleeping with Mukti) he screams "Don't touch me!" I am usually moved by how protective he is of his feelings, and how much he tries to hide his emotions. With both Prerna and Mukti, he was forced to show his emotions and his feelings (he cries with Prerna, and he has tears in his eyes when he screams at Mukti) -- and he hates that. He was forced to show his emotions, and he probably cannot get over it so he has to go overboard to show he doesn't care.

vaah!👏👏👏 kya baat hai!! dil khush kardiya apne!! what a wonderful way to justify what is going on inside the head of this very complex character. and for the record, i agree with you completely....it is his vulnerability that makes him so mean....he has never really experienced true, selfless love before he met Mother India, and after he met her, he tried to change. but when she "betrayed" him...he realised that he was right all along--emotions make you weak. As UD he was strong, no one could mess with him...didn't he say to Prerna once that a while back, she wouldn't have been able to hurt him so much...as UD he is infallible but as Prem, he is weak and bound by emotions and relations. This is why he has to force himself to focus on materialistic things in life because at least then he is in control of how he feels, these materialistic things cannot hurt him...aur inke chale jaane ka dukh bhi nahin hoga....

I always noticed that he kept saying to Mukti that you are a nice girl and I don't want to hurt you...even on the night of the rape when he threatened her, he said that. And then sending that goon but telling him not to touch her...he just got scared that people would see that behind his tough exterior lies a little boy yearning for the childhood that he should have received...with his parents and siblings.

prem is suffering from MPD. multiple personality disorder! he sure has a complex character. sumtimes hes cute n lovable( when he said sorry to mukti in the beach and the scene where he says "mujhe kuch ho jata to kya basanti? 😳 ), sumtimes a pucca gangster(the scene where he takes drugs and he drugs mukti), sumtimes hes the sweetest guy ever(when he said that mukti was beautiful from inside) and sumtimes hes the meanest guy ever (when he dragged mukti's character through dirt by calling her "driver ki beti" who wants to get married in a big household)

i hope he is taking mukti's side even though he is showing that he is on sharad's side. may be , i say cross ou fingures.

Don't you love it psawyer when Prem/UD screams "Don't touch me!" I mean really you wouldn't expect a guy, especially one like him to acts to be so nonchalant and so in control, to say something like that. Beneath all those layers of UD does lie somewhere a little boy just yearning for love. It's also interesting that with Prerna/Mother India, he screams "Don't touch me!" but not with the authority and the anger that he screams with at Mukti. I mean, I've never seen him so angry and so vulnerable at the same time than on valentine's night... with Mukti. I think he really hates that he showed emotions, plus he really wanted her to understand this was not going to continue and there was not going to be any love between them. Which is why the 'morning-after' he puts on such an impenetrable mask on his face, barely talking to Mukti, and he blows her off later on.
