She was brought up while enjoying the acting of famous actors Sachin Khedekar, Sayaji Shinde and Anand Joglekar. But it was a hilarious experience for her when she got the chance to work with them on the big screen. Yes, the famous Shruti of 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki', Tina Parekh is coming in her first film 'Satya Bol' directed by Sanjay Upadhyay. She started her career as a model.

The Jaipur girl was brought up in Mumbai, and made her entry into the small screen through some serials like 'Hip Hip Hurray', 'Dollar Bahu' and 'Khichdi'. But the character Shruti of the serial 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki' brought her identity in each home. Now, she is ready to hit the big screen. She was in Delhi for the promotion of her film, Smashits caught Tina Parekh and found out her views on the movie and also her future plans.

Excerpts of her recent tete-e-tete with smashits:

Did you plan to shift to big screen or you got this film by chance?

No, there was no planning. I got it by chance. I was called for the audition of the film. After giving audition when I heard the script I liked it and agreed to work in this film.

What kind of role are you playing in this film?

I am playing the role of a wife of a young police officer. From outside it seems that the wives of the police officers enjoy life. But in reality it is quite different. They face several problems like pressures on a police officer are reflected at home. So, it is all about the relationship of wife and husband.

As it is a cop story based film, how far have you got the chance to perform?

I am the only female character in this film. I have a track to move ahead from the beginning to the end of the film.

Would you agree for skin show and smooches in movies?

No skin show, no biknis, no smooches for me.

How could you escape from it, as it's the trend today?

No, this is a phase only. You may recall that there was a time when there were a lot of movies on Bhagat Singh. That has passed away.

How was your experience of working with a new hero?

It was interesting to work with Manish. He was totally new before camera while I had faced it already. I have only one scene with Sayaji and one with Sachin Khedekar. But it was exciting to work with Sachin Khedekar because I have grown up watching his serials.

Where do you find yourself among Tina, Shruti and Sandhya?

I am absolutely Tina. One can't identify me with the character. I am playing a role and that's all for me. But I would like to be known as Tina only.

Now offbeat cinema has become a challenge for the new comers. What will you do if you get that kind of an offer?

I know what kind of work I want to do. So I will wait for the kind of work. . Even if it will take time I wouldn't mind and wait for it.

What will be your priority while signing a new film?

Script and role is important for me. I also look for a good director. A good banner definitely brings success but I will give priority to my role.
