Uday: Mein sidhe point par aata hoon. Hum aaj yahan apne bete ke liye apki badi beti ka haath mangne aye hain. Hum chahte hain ki Rano ke saath, Bani bhi hamare ghar mein aye hamari bahu banke. Jai ki patni banke.

Chapter 8

Nishikant: Kya??!

Bani: Kya??!!! Yeh.. Aap kaisi baat… Mein kaise…

Not knowing what to do or what to say, Bani simply ran off from there to her room. Her mind only on one question, why her?? She knew Jai Walia was one of the most eligible bachelor and very rich. Many women were willing to do anything just to get his attention. Of all those women, why did his parents want her as their daughter-in-law?! It was simply too unreal. This had to be a dream… no it couldn't be real.

~~ Back at the Dixit living room

Nishikant: Yeh.. Aap.. Mera matlab hain… kaise yeh sab..

Uday: Main jaanta hoon aapke maan mein hazaron sawalein honge. Apko jo puchna hain, just go ahead. But first, mujhe aur Krishna bohot dino se hamare bete keliye ek achi patni ki talash mein the. Hum jab us din aye the, to hamne Bani ko dekha tha. Hamein usi din hi Bani ko pasand kar liya tha. Kaise wo pura ghar sambal thi… kaise sab ka kyaal rakthi hain.. Hamein aisi hi bahu chahiye thi. Jo hamare pure ghar ko sambhale… hamare Jai ko sambhale. Aur phir uske saath Rano bhi hain. Dono ko ek duje ka saath rahega. Thik kahan na Rano?

Rano, jolted out of her thoughts upon being called: Ji.. Erm… haan haan

Without knowing, Rano had just given her consent on her Di to get married to Jai Walia!

Nishikant: Par.. Itni jaldi… mera matlab hain.. Mujhe Bani ko bhi puchna parega.. Uski haan ke begar to shaadi nahin ho sakti na..

Jai, who had been sitting down not saying a single word, but his attention full on the whole conversation, muttered to himself, " Na kahein ko acha hoga.. Mujhe koi interest nahin hain iss ke saath shaadi karne ka.."

Nishikant: Kuch kahan tumne beta?

Jai, shocked that he had heard something: Nahin kuch nahin.. Aap thik keh rahein haan.. Pehle aap Bani se puch lijiye.

Uday and Krishna smiled, knowing that things were going as planned. They both hoped that Bani would agree to this proposal. They had been longing for a bahu and now that they had found one, both were eagerly waiting for her arrival to Walia House.

Uday: Humne socha tha ki Ranveer ke saath, Jai ki bhi shaadi hojaye. Pehle engagement aur phir eik week mein shaadi.

Nishikant: Rano beta, tum zara yahan baitho, mehmaan ka kyaal rakhna, mein zaara Bani se puchkar aata hoon. Aap log zaara baithiyen.. Mein Bani se puchkar aata hoon.

Having said that he went to look for his eldest daughter. One part of him was contented with the fact that his daughters were getting a good family.. One part of him was worried about the fact that all this was happening too suddenly especially for Bani. For Rano, he was more than glad with the rishta. But Bani.. why did Uday Walia choose his daughter as their bahu.. he couldn't figure out their sudden proposal for their son. But he knew he could trust Uday Walia, he was a man of principle and a great person at heart. When he entered Bani's room, he found her looking out of the window, fiddling with her dupatta.

Nishikant: Bani beta..

Bani immediately turned upon hearing her father's voice: Ji papa.. Papa yeh sab kaise.. Wo mujhe apni..

Nishikant: Mein jaanta hoon beta. Lekin yeh rishta unki taraf se aya hain.. ek acha parivaar se aya hain.. aur Rano ka bhi parivaar hain.. Aur phir tumari shaadi hone ka bhi samay aya hain… acha nahin hoga agar choti behen badi behen se pehle shaadi kare.. Magar akhri faisla tumara hoga Bani. Tum jo chahogi vaisa hoga. Meri to iccha hain ki tum aur Rano dono Walia House ki bahu bane.. Unse acha parivaar tum dono ko nahin milenga.. Tum dono ko ek accha parivaar mile, isse behtar mere liye kya ho sakta hain.. Mein to aap budha hogaya hoon...

Bani: Nahin papa.. Aap aisa mat boliye..

Bani ran into her father's arms and let all her tears out. She didn't like it when her father talks that way.. Wiping her tears away, she said," Aap duniya ke sabse ache papa hain aapko pata hain? Mein apko kuch nahin hone dungi." Nishikant patted her head affectionately and told her he was waiting for her outside.

Bani didn't know what to do. She was very confused. She knew they were waiting for her answer. Everyone had high hopes that her answer would be a yes. Walking to her bedside wall, she looked up to the framed photo of her mother who seemed to be smiling down at her. Closing her eyes, she prayed, " Maa, mein kya karoon maa.. mujhe kuch samaj mein nahin aah raha hain.. Aap hi kuch upai dijiye.. Kya mein yeh rishta maanlu?" Just then, she felt something hit her head. Her eyes flew open, a flower had dropped from the garland hanging around her mother's photo frame. Tears filled her eyes, she was missing her mother a lot and yet today it was her who helped her take a decision.

Rano was chatting with Krishna Walia and Nishikant with Uday Walia when they noticed Bani coming into the room.

Bani: Papa, uncle, aunty.. Maine faisla kar liya hain. Mein is rishte ke liye tayyar hoon.
