Sorry I could not update yesterday. Had a few guests visiting.

She had to muster courage before she went home on Friday. Bani was expecting a huge scene after she would tell everybody what she had in her mind, and it was not going to be pretty.

Part 12

'Are Bani, tum aagayi?'

'Haan mausi, main abhi aayi.main zara fresh hokar aati hu'. And Bani ran up to her room, to be stopped midway by Ranveer.

Ranveer hugged her tightly.

'Ranveer when did you arrive?'

'Abhi abhi Bani. Turns out the project finished of sooner than we thought, so I came home. But why are you tensed? Anything wrong?' How he did that, not even Bani knew, but like always he has guessed that something was on her mind. Just for now she lied, and said she was fine. Bani did not want to break the news before dinner otherwise it would spoil the entire evening. And Ranveer's arrival did not make things easy for her. Now she feared his reaction the most.

Finally everybody had their dinner. Bani took a deep breath and like she always did, walked with the tray with cups of tea and coffee for everybody towards the living area. The whole family was gathered there. Bani gave everybody their cup and said:

'Mujhe aap logon se kuch kehna hai.'

At once she had all the eyes looking at her. By the expression on Bani's face they knew it was serious. Startled Aditya said; 'Kya huwa Bani, is everything alright, tell na, kya huwa?'

O boy, this was not going to be easy.

Bani licked her lips. Her mouth suddenly seemed dry.

'uhmmm……………..woh……..uhm…………..'

Aditya: 'Kaho beta, hamari jaan ja rahi hai.'

The only thing that came out of Bani's mouth was uhmmmmmmmmm………………………

Until she finally blurted out: I'm moving out after the wedding!!!!!!!!

The whole family had their eyes wide opened. You could hear a pin drop in the whole house. Even Tony looked up at Bani with questioning eyes. Rano almost had tears in her eyes.

Finally Ranveer broke the silence and said:

'Great! Need help in packing? Why after the wedding, I'll drop you now.

Judging by the sarcasm in his voice Bani knew he was royally mad.

'Ranveer, don't do this to me.' Bani pleaded.

Suddenly she heard a cacophony of questions hitting her.

'Why are you moving out?'

'Humse koi galati huwi hai?'

'Tum rahogi kaha?'

'Have you lost your mind?'

Bani laughed. She knew Ranveer must have asked her the last question.

She calmed everybody done. Well, she tried to and started explaining.

'Maine ek apartment dhoondh liya hai, aur mai shaadi ke baad waha shift ho rahi hoon.'

Tarun stood up from his seat and walked up to Bani. He held her hand.

'Bani, tum jaana kyu chaahto ho? Did we do something wrong? Did we say something to you you did not like?

'No uncle, nothing like that, it's just that….uhmmmm.' Bani took a deep breath and continued.

'Woh mai shaadi ke baad yahaan nahin reh sakti, isilye. Mai jaanti hoon ki aap sab ko bura lagega, but I can't live in both my sisters' sasural. That is why I am moving out after the wedding. I just can't……'

Before Bani could finish her phrase Ranveer stormed off to the garden. Bani tried to call hoim back but he did not listen. Rano followed Ranveer to the garden.

The rest of the family just sat in the living area silently. Till Karuna asked Bani: 'You have made up your mind na?'

Bani nodded. 'Aunty I know I am hurting all of you by doing this, but I don't want to. You are my family. But the truth is that I need to start living on my own and take care of myself. Learn how to deal with my own responsibilities.'

'Bani that is not true and you know that!' Aditya yelled.

'You took care of yourself and your sisters all these years, so don't give me cr*p about wanting learn how to live on your own and all that. You are afraid of what people might say when you live here after the wedding. You are afraid people might gossip about the family and appear in a sleazy tabloid as headline, because that happened a few times. They wrote something about you guys.'

Jigyasa put down her hand on Aditya's knee.

'Calm down Aditya, don't yell at the poor girl. Bani, we want you to stay, but you will have to decide. We won't force you.'

Bani looked at Jigyasa with gratitude.

Bani knew she could handle the rest of the family. They would come around, but Ranveer was a tough nut to crack. Jigyasa indicated with her eyes to the garden. Bani knew she had to talk to Ranveer, thus she went into the garden, preparing herself to be ignored, or yelled at.

Bani felt guilty when she saw Ranveer. He was sitting in the white swing, holding Rano by her waist who was standing in front of him. She knew both of them were crying.

Bani sat down next to Ranveer, on the swing.

'Ranveer, I have to do this. I have to live my own life, and discover who I am. To do that I have to move out. I love you guys, but this is one of the things I just have to do.'

Ranveer looked up started screeming

Bani I know that is not the reason! The gossiping has finally got to you! Why do you even care about what they say about us, or about your relationship to the family Bani?!! If you really care about our friendship you won't go!'

Bani was trying hard to control her tears. Was the reason that visible?

'Ranveer, you are marrying my baby sister, and I don't want anything to go wrong. Pia and Rano are getting married in this house, they will form a bond with the family, and I can't live in their sasural. Sooner or later problems might arise and I don't want that to happen. I don't want them to be unhappy because of me. Plus I want to give them a proper maayka. Don't they deserve that? Earlier I was given the position of daughter of the house by the familymembers, so it did not matter a lot what outsiders said. But now I am also a relative of this house where my sisters are getting married. Mujhe kuch niyamo ka paalan karna hai, jo samaaj na tey kiye hai.'

Ranveer averted his gaze. Bani stood up and said: 'I am moving out Ranveer, I'm sorry I am hurting you, but it will happen.' Bani walked into the house.

Rano was gently caressing his back when she whispered: 'Let Didi go. She has taken care of us maybe half her life, ever since mama got sick. Her life revolved around Pia and me. Let her live her life for a change. Jaane ki wajah jo bhi ho, lekin woh khush rahegi. I know you are scared of losing your friend, that is why you never made friends. And I am scared of losing Di, but she deserves a life of her own. She needs your blessings Ranveer, warna woh khushi se apni zindagi ki shuruwaat nahin kar paayegi. Let her go Ranveer.'

Rano made him look up to her. She wiped his tears. Ranveer smiled. He made her sit next to him on the swing.
'You are right Rano, she deserves her own life.'
Ranveer wiped Rano's tears and kissed her.

okay I just love the relationship ranveer and bani share its just superb....!

Looks like Bani has made the decision to leave WM and go.
