EPILOGUE:

"Jai! Jaiiiii! Why do leave your things everywhere like this!"

Almost a year had passed since Jai and Bani's wedding. Bani had fit in well with the family, looking after them all and fulfilling their every need and want, especially Jai's…

At the moment though, Bani was not very happy… Jai was always leaving his things lying around the room… kitni baar bola hai! Aur yeh hain, ki sunthe hi nahi…

"Jaiiiii –"

Suddenly a hand clamped around her mouth… another circled around her waist, underneath her sari… A soft, husky voice muttered in her ear, playing with her senses, "Tumne bulaya…?"

Bani pulled Jai's hand away from her mouth and turned angrily to face him. He was half dressed in his trousers… bare chest… with his wet hair flopping lazily across his forehead… She held up his wet towel between them and shook it angrily… "Yeh kya hai Jai?"

"A towel jaan…"

"Yeh, your wet towel. And where was it? On the bed, where we sleep!"

"Hmm… bed… good times…"

"Jai! I'm serious!"

Jai pulled her close to his body… "I know, which is why… (his voice lost its huskiness) you should just chill yaar!"

Jai enjoyed teasing Bani… he did it everyday, it was routine.. without annoying her, his day was incomplete…

Bani glared at him… "What did you say to me?"

"Acha baba! Sorryyy! I was only kidding Bani! Now, give me a kiss before I leave for the office"

Bani smiled and shook her head… he was never going to change! She gave a quick peck on the cheek and made to move away, only.. she couldn't. Jai was holding her tightly.

"Hey… what was that?!" He made a fake hurt look…

"What was what Jai?" She made a fake innocent look, trying hard to hide a smile…

"Like you don't know! Khair… meh hi tumhari galti ko sudhar deta hoon!" And before Bani could do anything, he kissed her… his hands roaming around her body, through her hair…

"Ahem… agar tum dono ka yeh… jo kuch bhi horaha hai, katam ho jaye… toh…"

Masi was stood at the doorway, hands crossed, but smiling...

Bani pushed Jai away quickly... "umm.. voh Masi... meh abhi aarahi hoon.. I was just... cleaning the room..."

"Haan haan… dhikraha tha… Ab jaldi aaja.. tera nashta thanda horaha hain"

"Iski kya zaroorat thi Masi? Meh khud banadeti"

"Hatt! Iss halat mei? Nahi beta, iss halat meh apna dhyan rakhna chahiye"

Bani blushed… her hands automatically going to her stomach, where there was a small lump growing..

Bani was now 5 months pregnant and the whole family was constantly around her, making sure she was okay. Bani smiled as she remembered the day Jai had found out she was pregnant… he was beside himself with joy, as any father-to-be would be! Since then, he had been looking after her like a child. First, he had forbidden her to come to the office… then he would ring from the office every half hour, making sure she was fine, whether she had eaten or not… even what she had eaten! Then, at night, he would cuddle her close, stroking her hair… often rubbing her stomach gently…until both of them had fallen asleep in each others arms.

"Don't worry Masi" Jai came behind Bani, circling his hand around Bani's waist again, and resting his head on her shoulder… "Main hoon na dhyan rakhne ke liye!" He kissed her lightly on the cheek… "See? Nothing to worry about!"

Masi laughed… "Ok, ab tu bhi aaja neeche, nashte ke liye" and with that, Masi left, leaving them alone once more…

"So… where were we?"

"YOU were going to get ready! And I'M going downstairs"

"Aise bhi jaldi kya hai" Jai's voice had turned husky again as he nuzzled Bani's neck gently…

"Jai please! Mujhe jaane do… please!"

"Chalo… hum saath hi neeche chalte hai"

"Par…"

"Par var kuch nahi.. chalo"

Silently Bani followed Jai downstairs… trying desperately not to laugh… Jai seemed to have forgotten that he wasn't wearing a shirt…

They sat down together at the dining table. Everyone had already started, but stopped eating suddenly to take in Jai's appearance… gradually, they all started laughing… nervously at first… and then loudly.

Jai looked at them angrily… "Why are you all laughing!" He turned to Bani at his side, who was also laughing… "Someone say something!"

Aditya finally spoke up… "Jai… umm… haven't you forgotten something?"

"No… like what?"

"Er… like your shirt?"

Jai looked down... oh shoot! Embarrassed, he ran upstairs as fast as he could, as everyone continued to laugh downstairs… within a minute, he was back downstairs, this time fully clothed in his immaculate suit. He had silenced everyone with one look and breakfast was completed with no more laughter.

"Chale Aditya?" Jai motioned to Tony to get his keys, as both men got up to go. "Oh.. I almost forgot… Pushkar kaha hai?"

"Jai, voh office mehi mil raha hain hame. He had to do a few last-minute touch ups to the presentation. After all, he's making his first presentation as an Executive Manager! That too to the Board of Directors!"

"Ok.. chalo"

Jai was at the door, when Bani called him from behind… "Jai?"

He turned to face her, grinning… he already knew why she was calling… he had forgotten his lunch.. again…

"Why do you forget it everyday, Jai?" She wasn't angry, but smiling back at him… She knew he forgot it purposefully…

"So that you can give it to me everyday… so that I can be close to you for one more second of the day…"

"Tum bhi na… you'll never change!" She blushed, looking away from his eyes…

"And neither will you!" Laughing at her embarrassment, he gave her a quick peck on the cheek and walked out to Aditya, who was already waiting in the car.

Bani stood at the door and watched him go down the drive and turn onto the main road…

Bani's life had changed so much since she married Jai… He had given her such a loving family… so much happiness… Smiling, she remembered back to her wedding night…

Bani had been sitting on the bed, which had been decorated beautifully in red and white roses, waiting for Jai to come… She heard the door open and close… footsteps coming closer to the bed… the bed sinking at the side slightly as Jai sat down… then, he lifted her veil, gently pulling up her face with his finger, before speaking… "Bani… I love you… I love you so much… I've always wanted someone to love… someone to call my own… koi apna sa… and you are that someone…"

Just thinking about what he had said always brought tears to her eyes… she shut the door behind her and leant against it… her hands once again found her stomach… "I love you Jai… thank you for making me the happiest woman on earth…"

as u can see.. its not very long.. but i cant help it! its a disease 😆
