The doorbell and Asha's cry made Bani came out of her sweet beautiful moments that she had spent with the father of her child and the first love.
"Coming" she called to Asha and the person who was on the other side of the door.
As she quickly went to open the door, to meet the impatiently person on the other side, her eyes grew big, and heart beat was beating fast.
"Tum", she said dryly, looking at the person.
He was wearing an blue long sleeve shirt, and the first buttons were open and he had an black coat on, "dam" she thought to her self he was still making the hair on the back of her neck stand, she wrapped her arms across her chest.
"Jai" she let out his name, think of the devil and the devil appears she said under her breath.
"Hello Bani," he said with an smile, before she could let him in, she remembered their daughter crying, and slammed the door on his face before he could react, she rushed to her daughter who was crying in Bani's room, she picked her daughter up from the crib.
"Aww my poor Baby, did you have an bad dream, because mommy just saw the devil at standing at the door." Trying to be clam, and smile at her daughter, even though she was nervous and shaky. Asha looked at her mom and started wailing at top of her lungs.
"My poor baby, what wrong honey? Do you need your nappy change?" She checked Asha diaper, and offered her to drink the formula but she was refusing and continuing to cry. When Bani looked up and stared at the reflection, she saw her self, her hair tussled up, the tee shirt she was wearing was see through showing bra, Dam she said to her self but shaking her head focused on her daughter.
"Hush little one", she said with an sooth tone, and lovely, as she paced back and forth, and entered the living room of the apartment, when she heard an knock on the apartment door, she ignored knowing who he was.
Go away Jai, she said to herself, she didn't wanted to deal with two demanding people, the father and the daughter, his daughter was already making her loose her energy, and patience. She looked at her telephone was on coffee table.
All she wanted to do was call her mom, and ask her for help, and cry like an lost child, how can she be an good mother, when she didn't know what was wrong with her daughter of three weeks. She felt like an lost little girl who simply needed her mommy even though she was an mother. Putting the baby on the pink baby bassinet, and turning on the musical toys that were hanging on to it, she reached for the phone.

"Bani, let me hold her?" Said an deep voice from the door way. She turned around and meant the eyes of Jai,
"How dare you, broke into my apartment and invade the privacy." Her voice was low but cold and her eyes were flared with anger.
"Well someone left the door open" He gave her grin, which she wanted to wipe, and hit him with something. .
"O," her mouth formed. "That not an excuse you should know better." putting the phone down, and went and picked Asha up from her bassinet.
He took an step closer and she felt her apartment so small like it was an tuna stuff in an can, and she was suffocating with his appearance.
No, I don't want you to hold Asha. She looked at the baby who was putting her tiny finger in her mouth.
"Stop that, she gently took out the fingers from the baby's mouth, and seconds later she began to cry." Bani looked at Jai, and he gave her a look saying wrong move.
May I hold her? He asked Bani again, looking from Jai and back to their daughter, she realized how much Asha resembled her farther, and she reluctantly handed the baby.
"Just be careful, don't hurt her Jai." She handed him the baby. "I won't"
"Hey Princess" told her in an soothing tone, "what's the matter honey?"
"Bani can you get her bottle, I will try to feed her"
"Sure, you can try, she was refusing to drink her milk" As she headed for the room, to get the baby bottle, and then to the kitchen to clean the bottle an make another set of milk.
When she came into the living room, she thought her heart was going to burst out from her chest.
His deep voice was smooth and soft, when she went inside the living room, and saw him sitting on the Emma single sofa, in his arms were Asha, looking into the eyes of her father. As he sang the lullaby, she went and put the bottle into her mouth, which she happily accepted, as she was enjoying the attention and the song.

When the lullaby, ended Bani almost found her self to be asleep but she so that Asha was not asleep yet.
"I think you should keep singing lullabies, until she fall asleep." As she touched her daughters finger.
"She has the habit of Om" Jai said, he always liked me to sing to him until he went asleep.
"Om," Bani repeated to herself, she wondered who he was and what was the relationship that Jai shared with him. "Jai who is Om" she asked, he looked at her and then at the baby.
"Om is my son Bani" He closed his eyes
Bani let his word sink into her head, "Om is my son" Where is his son? Thousand questions ran into her hand, as she watched him put Asha in the bassinet.
"Do you talk to him? He how old is he? Where is he? She asked curiously with the new information that her boyfriend of many years revealed.
"No I don't, I can't talk to him or anyone can talk to him"

"Because he is dead?" His eyes were cold with no emotions playing

"He died drowning in the swimming pool at his Moms house, when he was two when I turned 21.

"Where was Om mother?"
"She was making out with her lover upstairs in her room, while I was at work. I was shattered when I found out that my wife was cheating on me, while living the baby in the hands of the babysitter."
"What sort of the woman, would do that? Bani asked with an disgusted look.
"What did you say? Did you say your wife?" She looked dazed.
Jai, you were married or are you married? I thought you were single when you meant. OMG this is the past that Jiju said you had. She braced her self, and sat down on the couch. New sets of tears were forming in her eyes, she felt betrayed.
"Bani I am sorry."
"Don't you dare sorry me, I feel betrayed and cheated." As he bent down and touch her hand, and she looked up into his eyes and saw the sorrow.
"That's why you are afraid of commitment, and you didn't wanted a child because of OM and what he means to you." She held his hands.
"When you told me you was pregnant, but I was scared to loose another child, I was scared to go through the same emotional out break. I was lost Bani."
The day when you told me you was pregnant, I had meant Meera, he looked into his eyes for some reaction. She was at the hospital, with her three year old son and she was pregnant. All the anger I ad her all this years, came to me, and I felt like strangling her." She felt an lump in her throat.
Realization drew into Bani as moments passed, he was worried about being hurt again, but he had also hurted her, and made her feel lonely, when she wanted him in her eyes.
"But you also hurted me Jai, why didn't you came after me, and talked to me?"She asked softly looking into his eyes.
"I did but your dad told me not to meet you, and he told me to give you and me some time" She felt betrayed, her dad had broken her trust, and hidden something important like that.
Why didn't he do that? She felt anger rasiing in her.
"Because he didn't want you hurt."
"Why did you call?"
"Because you changed your cell number."
"You had my email"
"You blocked me" he accused, she lowered her gaze, she was angry at him.
"So you didn't wanted the baby because you didn't wanted to hurt or loose the child like you had lost Om." His face went cold and he got up and turned around, not looking at Asha or Bani.
" I can't even imagine loosing Asha, I would just die without her. I will panic if she is out of my sight for an minute." She looked up and saw his back was turned, and she walked up to him, and gently put her hands on his shoulder and turned him around, and saw his eyes were filled with emotions, and he was holding back the tears.
Without saying an word, she wrapped her arms around him and hugged him, knowing deep inside, he was sad.
Never wait until tomorrow to hug someone you could hug today, because when you give one, you get one right back your way.

Bani went brush her teeth, and then went an gave Jai an spare tooth brush, so he could brush his, and gave him one of her oversized night shirts to wear. While he was brushing his teeth, she prepared breakfast for them both, as both of them didn't eat dinner, and she was hungry, and she knew he was hungry.
After the Asha was settled down, Jai watched his daughter from an distance, who was putting her right hand on her tummy, and taking small deep breaths. He turned his attention to the mother of the child, the person who he cared about.
Taking his coffee mug, he went to the sink, and was about to wash the mug.
"Jai, I will wash the mug."

"No its not ok, besides you hate washing the dishes", she had an smile playing on her sleeps.
"I have gotten used to it, since I live alone." Their eyes meant, and it was like they were talking.
