Loving the wrong person
Part 1
Thump, thump, the raindrop sound made on roof, as lighting flashed, and it began to rain louder. In one of the rooms of a beautiful double story house that was located on the hills there was a shadow of person sitting on the rocking back and forth on the rocking chair. Isolating herself from her family, who were watching the , she preferred being alone in the room, and watching rain drops fall on the ground.
Leaning her head back, remembering how her beautiful life had turned from color to black and white in one moment. What could anyone do, when you are in this position, blame your self or put it on your fate? The only crime she had committed was letting her heart fall for the wrong person who she thought was her (Mr. Right) how wrong she was.
When she closed her brown eyes, she could still remember his face, even though it has been eight long months that he had walked out of her life forever, not turning back, not looking at her. Everything had shattered in her life.
Staring into the darkness she went into her past, the past she wanted to forget but she couldn't. It was a raining that day they had broken up. She could still remember that day as though it was yesterday, even though it had been eight months ago.
Black, clouds, were hovering outside, make the day feel short and gloomy, this was the beginning of the spring season, but it was still feeling as the day were shorts instead of long. All she wanted to do was get inside her bed, close her eyes, and sleep just sleep forgetting about everything and the world and go into a dream land, where it was peaceful and nothing else. But if one could just go on to sleep without the worries, it would have been great. Sleep, was the last thing on her mind right now, as she glanced over the white paper, and read the fonts over and over again, making sure that her eyes were not playing tricks on her, or this lab report could have belong to someone else. Nope it was certainly not the case here, as it read Bani Dixit.
Moving around, making sure all her daily chores were done, in her two bedroom apartment that she had shared with her boyfriend Jai Walia for the last three years.
Each passing hour, when the on the wall clock began to ring, her heart began to beat faster, and faster, mentally counting how many hours are left till he arrives home. She was pacing from one end to the other from her living room to the kitchen, and to hallway.
Biting her finger nails, and marching down the hall, she was looking at the door, thinking Jay would come home early and how she will break the news. Since the lunch when she had gotten the report, each time she thought about how he was going to tell him the news. Thinking about what will she tell him, how would she tell him?
She didn't care about his reaction; she knew what his reaction will be. He will be shock; his eyes would go enormous as the Ping-Pong ball. "Oh god", she was just over reacting and thinking of the worse.
The music began to play, as she saw the clock had struck, five o'clock pm; she moved her head toward the direction of the door, as she watched the knob turn. As she watched the tall built figure of Jay enter their apartment making the apartment feel smaller. He was tall at 6ft 2, is body was of an athletic built. What attracted her most, towards him were his dark chocolaty brown eyes, they were deep as the ocean that can make anyone drown into them, and they were also dangerously intoxicating.
"Good Afternoon, honey, how was your day", as he put his brief case on the couch. he smiled as he walked towards, she felt her knees weak as a jelly, as he approached her place a kiss on her lips, but she had turn her head instead he kissed her cheeks. Taking an deep breath, " Good, I have some news I want to share with you", she said in a lower whisper averting her eyes from him.
"Sure why not, what's the news?" He asked her looking all relaxed. "Let have a seat first", as she motioned him towards their dinning table. There was five minutes of moment silence between them, as he studied her face, but for the last five minutes she was looking anywhere but him, her fingers were drumming the table. "Can you tell me what the matter is?" His voice was half worried, and half annoyed. All she could say was, "the report came in", taking a deep breath in a lower whisper, "today I got my lab report", not looking at him. There was an awkward moments of silence.
"What does the report say?" He asked, has the dark eyes grew big, and looked at her. Quietly she had slid the report towards him, indicating for him to look at it.
"It's positive", she whispered.
"Repeat it again", not trusting or believing what his ears were hearing and what is eyes were seeing on the paper. "It's positive, the lab report is positive, I'm pregnant", she said.
"WHAT? How in the world can you be pregnant? I thought you, and I had used precaution", He yelled.
"I don't know how, it happened…" her sentence was cut off. Of course she knew how it happened, as it takes two tango, but she didn't know how the baby happened they had always used protection.
"Oh for god sake, don't act innocent". Anger was boiling inside him; his brown eyes were turning red. Since they have been together, both of them had used protection, she was on pills, while he used the condom. She heard, the chair move, as he approached her so they were inches away, from each other, the smell of his cologne invaded her nostrils.
"Bani", he said her name softly but with an warning tone, which made her look at him. "What have you decided? How long have you been pregnant ?" He looked at her curiously.
"I have been pregnant for almost one month, and I don't know what I should do", as she broke down. Pregnancy wasn't on her mind, not at the age of 25 when she was just starting to make her career in dental hygiene field.
"Have you thought of abortion", he asked. She just shook her head in negative way, and looked at him. "For god sake!!" as he ran his hand through his thick black hair, and swore under his breath. Taking her hands in his, "the best thing for us would be you got an abortion." She looked at him in shock, and was disbelieved at what she was hearing.
"Abortion" Her eyes grew big in the size of marbles, as she looked up in a shock. She stood up letting go of his hands. "Are you just telling me to abort an innocent child who is one month old, that we created even thought it was for our pleasure. To have them killed, not letting them see the world, what has an innocent child done to you or me. Why should it pay the consequences of our on mistakes?"
"Exactly Bani, instead of bringing this child to world, it will be the best for all of us, if we get the child aborted." His hands were placed on his cheeks that stung like a bee hand stunt him. He looked up to meet her eyes; tears were streaming down her cheeks.
"Abortion, by having abortion you will just get rid of the problem for now, but one day Jay Walia this action of yours will haunt you, taunt you in your dreams, will give you an restless night, where you would wish that you hadn't make this choice. In the end, there will be no way out for thinking about decision that you had me committed."
"I love you so much, but I won't listen to you, and get this baby abort, even though this was created unwontedly, I will bring the baby to the world. "
"Then it over", he said not looking at her.
"Excuse me, will you repeat yourself once again." Not trusting her ears, as she looked at his face in disbelief.
"It will be over, if you decided to keep this child, I won't have anything connected with this child."
"How can you say that, we had been through a lot for the past three years, and it will be over just like that?" She said while snapping her fingers.
"When you moved in this apartment and decided to live with me, there was no promise of an marriage or baby carriage nor a promise of life time commitment."
"I knew that there was no promise of a life time commitment or marriage, but I had hope Jay I hoped that my loved would change you so you would give this marriage idea another chance. I just realized what a fool I that I hoped that maybe living with you will change your mind in marriage and help you give you another chance. Just because your parent's relationship didn't work out, doesn't mean that ours won't. One day you would have to face your fears, and you will find the person that you will want to settle down with for the rest of life with and you will hear my words". She wiped her tears an had slammed their bedroom door shut, when she had come out of the room after two hours, he was gone, there was no sign of him. There was note on the dining table, on top of the lab reports written in his writing.

That night she had cried like an child, cried her heart out for taking a wrong decision that had ruined her entire life. Where her wrong decision had ruined her life but it had also created an new life which was growing inside of her, as she looked down at her stomach and touched the flat stomach. In eight months from now a new being would be brought into this world, giving a new hope to her.
The grandfather clock struck downstairs, making her come back into the present, as the rain had stop. She got up from the chair, and looked into the darkness, she had changed so much both mentally and physically, her stomach had grown huge and the baby was healthy. The one thing she was happy about was, the support of her parents, sister her family, they had made sure that she was smiling, taking her vitamins in time, and one of her parents or her sister was always their with her when she went to the gynecologist for check ups.
Lighting flashed, rain began to pour again. As she put her hand on her lower abdomen, as she felt the pain. Holding on the edge of the side table, she lost her balance, making the glass vase fall shattering into tiny pieces. There she lied on the floor, holding her hand placed on her belly, waiting for someone to come to her.
