Does IF Forums Really Have Free Speech? - Page 8

A very well written post.Didn't check the others writtings but in my personal opinion you are absolutely correct.I hardly post a new topic b'coz I fear if I would hurt anyone.If I even write a character bash post I have to write that last line though I never mean it.
Recently,the case regarding the vedio,though did not checked what is scribbled but knew that it would be something like not to post any vedio or other but if IF is an discussion forum,I feel,it better if we are allowed to do so.An episod worth watching was the reunion,everyone should be allowed to get the pride that they had posted the vedio of the best day.
Morover,CAPS are used not only to show anger but exitement too.
Mostly when I analyse something new I try to find if similar is made or not (or else my post will as usual get closed).But if one asks me to I can aleast find more than three post regarding same thing with different name.
Some member(there are more thar one)post consists only one line in it and then they make another post containing the other line.Of course these one line posts are expanded so that the same line constitutes for nearly half the page.Any rule against them?I would have agreed if it would have contained totally different concept but mostly the concepts are nearly the same.
I myself am a regular update complainer as half the days we don't have any update at all.I feel it is b'coz of the rules that no one other than the appointed one should post the update and the past analysis tells us that no one updates regularly it depends totally on the updaters mood if they will update oer not.They do not have any sense of responsibility and this can be simply found out by "No update was posted so I am doing this one"

i think you are being too hard on the updaters.
you see our regular updaters have a life and they are busy during these days. i know many of them are working, so they barely have time. while others do it via MSN like klue, who lives in Carribbean but she does the updates whenever she can but other times she is busy.
so you can't really say that our regular updaters are not feeling to do the job. i know 3 people who are so busy that they barely have time to talk to their friends here on IF.
so please don't say that, the Updaters are doing a great job when they can.
this issue came up while back and it was discussed then too

I'm saying the following because we don't see eye to eye lately, because believe it or not, regardless of what was said or done, I really do hold no ill feelings or bitterness at all towards you. You were once my friend and so at least for the sake of that, I'm not trying to shell you by saying the following -

With regards to being you feeling that you were biasly treated, I think that comes down to nothing more than a personal point of view. The thing is that mods do have to answer to seniors also... and therefore if they try and favour some and whup others, it would not be accepted. Also, there is no reason why any mod(s) would want to pick on a popular member of the forum like yourself.

Also, you said that you backed away because there was no point fighting for fairness... but I'm sure that all your posts so far on this thread have been fighting for what you consider fairness to be. Therefore, if you really were mistreated, then why did you not protest to the highest mods? I mean, something serious like being targeted back then was something you were willing to back down from... but now you want to stand up to supposed mistreatment?

And pyariladki, whilst not actually writing it, you have kinda implied that you were discouraged from posting because of things like this happening... despite the fact that these sorts of things never started happening until around about June time. Oh well, I have no issues with the silent following stuff... it's just that your heavy handed approach is one that I thought was familier. Anyways, that's a minor thing! Keep posting and keep enjoying 👍🏼

KS Dev Team had closed that post based on the current situation of the forum, as a member's reply towards someone will bring another 2-3 members into the post who doesnt like it and they will drag the reply and in the end the post will turn out to be a war between one group of fans and between another group of fans.

They closed the post bcoz they felt that it would go out of hand if , but yes the reply could have been trashed and let the post open but how do we know that again members would not come with similar replies again, and to avoid such rifts on forum they have closed it.

All JB fans has the right to celebrate their joy, neither we have any issue with it nor we will stop it as long as its taken smoothly and members are free to give there views in anyway as long it wouldnt hurt another member.

The author of that post's intention was only to celebrate the joy, we are not blaming the author of the post at all, it was a good post needed, afterall its been a long journey of JB..and finally all JB fans will get what they wanted. So lets not get into this more and start celebrating as the post has been opened as well. 😊

Why can't we have reasons written in the box you like to write"This topic is closed".

Furtghermore why was the PPC was never closed.It has always hurt me.What can you say about it?

Also, it was posted again and again by KS Dev Team and sometimes, a GM, not to ATTACK a Member/Actor/Character, and if so, topic would get closed, so no fighting occurs

We have Never bashed any member or Actor,but what is wrong about bashing a character?Are we here to just praise them?

Then,I request members to please start praising Pia for infidelity,for commiting such a mahan thing like "Adultery".AD and Pia for Blackmailing. and so on....

I know that updaters are 'real' human beings and they do have a busy time.

I respect mods but I feel it is totally b'coz of the mods that no other member who are willing to do the update provides it.

It is a wonder that everyday X does the updater but when Y does it, its her update in the sticky topic not X.Why?

Sometime,when X is busy we get the updates from Z but not from Y,but still it is her's update which dominates over the other updates.Why?

I respect and admire Klue for providing updates when no one did.

I feel enough has been said already but this new rule to not bash any
character is completely ridiculous. How can we not bash a character? Tell
me, for what should we praise Pia? Should we just praise each character
to the skies? Then what is the use of a forum.

Coming to JB fans being discrimitated against, well I see that happening
many times even outside IF - the majority is being discrimitated against
to please and 'protect' the minority. Before, I strongly felt that is the case
here too. But I can't speak about what's happening now because I've been
pretty distracted lately. I didn't pay much attention to the happenings of
the forum.

Anyway, no matter how things are going here, I would like to express my
appreciation towards the Mods and Viewbies who keep this forum going.

Let's just remember that KS forum has more conflicts because it is one of
the most active and best loved. 😃

I agree with what Meg has put across! I had also read the post by Somali congratulating JBians and even though I couldn't reply to it, I am pretty much stumped by knowing that it was closed down😕 As far as I remember, it was a normal enough post, with no character or actor bashing!

Also, why do most of us always forget that its just a serial that we are discussing and even if we do bash certain charaters...they are fictional and not real I agree with the part that we should limit actor bashing (only limit not stop altogether) because it could have other repurcussions for IF, but what is wrong, if someone of us choose to vent our ire or for that matter express our happiness over a certain ficitional character or pairing?

The Print-media and the Electronic-media bashes / criticizes or praises actors and characters...Then why cannot an Internet-based medium be used as a platform to express our views?😕

Though in all honesty, I strongly feel that the Moderators and Viewbees on this fourm do a remarkable job, considering that ours is the most vocal and most active forum in all of IF!

I have been a member of the KS Forum from the day it started and now its more than a year and a half and I have seen a lot and lot of happenings...good, bad and the ugly! But it is to the credit of the KS Admin Team and some very sane and sensible members (won't count myself amongst them😕) that the forum has been functioning so wonderfully! Hence, we fully respect all the rule and regulations laid down by the Admin Team, but there are certain things that are just not clear, one of them being, "The freedom of expression" as Meg has rightly put in!

All of a sudden, a new rule sprouts up one day, regarding what we can write about and what we can't!!! How can there be a rule against something as subjective as 'Character Bashing'? If we praise a character in the serial we watch so passionately, can't we voice our displeasure against the same?

I am not taking any examples here, but there have been certain posts that have never been shut-down, even though they have been the cause of lot of bad blood here...but posts which just express their euphoria over their favourite characters are shut down without any logical reason!

Forum rules are meant to be abided and followed, as long as its the same for one and all....All the time!
