Does IF Forums Really Have Free Speech?

I just saw a post made congratulating JBians on holding on faith for the couple closed saying it was not fair to other groups. I wanted to discuss this matter in the open because I think it is highly unfair. To be fair to some "groups" rules after rules have been imposed on this forum to make it so uncomfortable that droves of loyal posters have left as they found it restrictive and insulting that every word they said gets monitored and they were persecuted for voicing their opinions.. It is fine that we have posts after posts of Pia Princess Campaign and that never gets closed even though it might be upsetting to JB fans or AD-DDG fans. Now we have one post congratulating members on holding faith for the couple and fighting to have them on screen and the post gets closed saying it is unfair to other members.

In all this effort to be fair I feel JB fans are penalized the most for being the majority. How is that fair? It's like reverse discrimination. It's ok to bash Bani and Jai, but as soon as someone else is bashed all are up in arms. This used to be such a friendly forum and now it feels as if nothing can be said freely. Most posts now end with "Did not mean to offend anyone". More and more people are leaving, and more will leave if something is not done. From having over 200-300 pages a month its barely 80 now as people don't want to post not knowing who they will be accused of offending.

A protest by a loyal forum member. Enough is enough, or just tell us to leave the forum.

I whole-heartedly agree and am almost sure that soon enough this topic
will be closed too. However, I wanted to get my two cents in before it did
get closed. I have been a silent observer of this forum from way back
when. Practically from the 'original' KS days whereafter I became a
member and dared to post among along these very active members.
Things have gotten out of control more then once and I feel we have lost
many wonderful and intelligent members almost every couple of months
due to these very issues. I was hoping to post regarding something
similar and hesitated fearing intense retaliation. For what? Simply for
expressing my feelings. It amazes me that in past members have been
warned or have been forced to leave the group for issues that were
deemed as chatting. Whereas nowadays it seems like there are always
personal threads asking people to clear PM boxes or even posts providing
screencaps of a full PM box and they all go unnoticed. Anyway before I
say anything more I shouldn't I would just like to say once more I
completely agree with you and am glad finally had the chance (and
courage) to speak up.

I agree with Megs here,
when i saw that post even i wanted to say something but like Megs said in fear of accusing someone or simply offending someone i restrained but that didn't mean i wouldn't fight? i would if had a chance.
i was about to take this matter upon a higher ground but i think it is better if we discuss this among ourselves.

my first thought for that post was that we really don't have freedom of speech.
but yes it seems lately the JB fans are being targeted especially certain few.
and it seems that the most friendliest and busiest forum is loosing its touch and we are becoming the most 'rudest' forum as some would like to put it.

But my questions to the Mods: Are we not allowed to express our feelings? that post that was just closed was a expression of freedom of speech and by closing it, it seems that we don't have that freedom why? is it because JB fans are the majority? or is it because of something else?

I'm simply disappointed and yet confused

Also one more point the post under question deals only with the fictional
characters not the actors or Ekta or the creative team. So what harm is
there? Absolutely none. It is almost as if there is a never ending mission to
corner one group and hold them liable for finally being able to enjoy a
moment. I don't recall the Pia and JW followers ever being held accountable
for their thread after thread showing support. In fact if I recall there was
some level of pride when Roshni Chopra mentioned in an interview that her
fans had gone to such an extent. Something similar could be in store for JB
fans for all we know. But why are we being denied that chance?

My regards exactly!
i agree with you. i was having the same thoughts. and it seems that the JB fans are always singled out when it comes to name calling. it seems that we are the only ones to call names to a fictional character and no one else, when there is no harm there.

Looks like at this rate JB fans will be forced to leave involuntarily and then it
will become a non-JB forum anyway. I still don't get it. Up to not being able
to discuss actors and real people I can understand. But to not be able to
discuss and bash fictional characters? Does not make for much stimulating
discussion. I guess if one likes to glorify then this is the ideal setting.

exactly,
if you can't bash them then how are you suppose to discuss? i mean u simply can't be nice to a character you hate and still discuss...that is just plain madness. however u can say that u can bash a character to an extent then i would understand but simply can't bash them...that is just a mystery!😕

Megs I absoultely agree with you.

I wont say rules should not be imposed but impose it only when necessary not all the times and most importantly not unfairly.

There was a thread to go ga ga over AD, a Princess Pia campaign, ghantees group and all...But why when someone has to congratulate a particular group of people, it is not right and that thread has to be closed? That thread did not bash characters or actors unlike some other threads, so why was that closed?

I really feel the forum has become more and more restricting in the past few months.

criticize the fictional character.

Megs...freedom of speech is so subjective isn't it...I have got to the point where I merely write on posts where I know the author will not misconstrue anything I say...and ignore the rest of the posts.
Its also the reason why so many people have left the forum...selective application of the rules is unfair and unreasonable.
