Chapter 5

Jai worked most of the day in his study closed with Sam popping in here and there making sure that his medications were taken on time. Where was Bani? Leaning back satisfied in finally catching up with all the correspondence of the past 3 months he stretched his muscles. The bruises weren't too bad today but fatigue was getting to him. Jai knew that he should not drive himself too much especially at this healing point, but where was Bani? Not once today she came to check up on him or disturb him. Why?

Opening the door he climbed the stairs to go freshen up in his bedroom, their bedroom! Hearing a laugh he stopped. That laugh, it had been ages since he heard it. There it was again. Walking towards where it was coming from. "Only if you say so," Bani repeated followed by another laugh. Another set of voice replied, but Jai couldn't see the person and make out the words clearly. Anger surging through him, how she dare smile and laugh and flirt like that, without him there. She was supposed to laugh like that with him, but with him it was only the distance and that sad and confused look. Why was he feeling this way Jai didn't care, but he was raging with anger now and God knew why he hadn't barged in the room there and than. Walking towards the door to the balcony, Bani cradled comfortably in the arm chair with a huge mug of steaming liquid in her hands and a shawl over her shoulders. She looked so cozy. The only thing Jai could think of was getting cozy with her! It was a beautiful evening, and here she was flirting with, walking closer "I tell you that is it, " he heard, Jai knew that voice too well, none other than its Aditya, the handsome, single Aditya. For some reason Jai didn't know why but he couldn't hear no more and barging in opening the door. "You get up and out right now!"

Aditya looked confused at Jai, what could that be for? "Jai what's wrong?" satring blankly, "Nothing?" scratching his head, I have to talk to Bani and I don't like her openly flirting with my staff. Bani turned to look, her smile vanishing and a stern look on her face. As soon as she heard flirting she got up looking at him "whose flirting?"

Jai looked from one to the other, Aditya was his friend and she his wife, not once during the day did she come to see how he was and how was he feeling but she had time to sit here and flirt with Aditya. "Jai, would you relax man, I was merely explaining" Jai cut him off "I don't care, that can wait, I need to talk to Bani?" Aditya looked from Bani to Jai, God whatever has happened between these two, I don't want to get involved. Today Aditya had seen a side to Bani he didn't think was there and for some reason he was glad that for all the girls out there she was the one Jai had chosen. It was nice sharing the talks about the house and Jai's family with her. Jai looked on without giving Bani a glance indicating to his friend, solicitor to leave ASAP! Bani getting up "don't worry Aditya its alright, I will be fine and nothing is your fault." "I will talk to you later." With that Aditya left shrugging his shoulders, yet smiling behind both their backs. They didn't even know what he could already see.

"How dare you give orders to my staff?" "First you flirt with them and than?" Bani stared back blankly at him. She had after such a long time really smiled Aditya was a good guy, a nice brotherly figure to have around the house. He was merely telling her who Dadi was and how was she related to Jai, where the rest of the family was and how he wished he had met her before but he was abroad on another assignment for some new ventures for the Walia Group.

Jai looked at her, the smile was gone and that distant look was back. How dare she not look at me like that? He wanted her to look at him like that, to smile up to him like that. To take his name, like she had of Aditya's. God Jai, what's wrong with you, why are you being an ass?

Bani looked up at him, she had to do this for Varun and she needed Jai, but she wasn't going to let him run all over her again!

Was he jealous? OH my God is she imaging things? Was Jai Walia actually jealous of her talking to another man? Bani you are imagining things, how can that be possible. The man who can throw you out of his house and life early hours of the morning, how can he have anything for you in his heart?

"Flirt with your staff, how can I flirt with your staff when I have…. Break Bani, Break! Paushing herself, she had to control herself, what was she doing? She was going to confess to him that having him around how could she ever flirt with any other man. How could she even think of any other man! OH Bani. Jai looked at her "when what?" Bani ignored his remark and gaining composure looked up at him, "why would I flirt with Aditya" "Am I not married to you?" Bani kept looking at him her head held high. She wasn't going to budge. She could see something flicker in those icy cold jet black eyes. Was he impressed by her outburst! Whatever it was he didn't respond for sometime. Bani continued "you shouldn't really think things like those when you know I am your wife, you should be concentrating on getting better!" "We all will do anything to help you get better" "why don't you take a seat and I will get you something to drink?" "do you fancy anything?"

Jai looked at her "a glass of wine would be good?" Bani stared back at him, some arrogance, itna bemar hai aur phir bhi, "I don't think you should drink that especially with all the medication you take!" Jai looked at her, so much for being fussy! Why did you even ask what I wanted t han? Bani looked at him and just stared, "I will get you a glass of orange juice"

Jai stared at her as she left him, taking his seat. Bani heaved a sigh, at least he sat himself and didn't question her no more. Jai looked at her "how much are you wiling to do for me?" Bani stopped, she was on her way to the kitchen to get him some orange juice. Did she hear him right, he just didn't say that? Was Jai actually flirting with her now. Bani stopped in her tracks without turning to look at him. Many emotions flickering on her face yet she didn't want to turn, it would be too visible to him and the questions that would follow, she wouldn't have answers!

Dadi had just entered the room when she spotted Bani walking. "areh Bani, I told you nah not to go anywhere and to seat yourself and rest." Bani looked at Dadi and lookind down "woh Dadi meh?" Dadi had spotted Jai on the chair that Bani had been and walking towards it taking Bani's elbow and leading her. "I told Bani to not go anywhere and to rest here Jai, she has a mild fever and she needs to drink a lot of fluids and rest" "Why are you making her work?"

Bani looked from Dadi to Jai and back. Oh God I hope he doesn't get mad again. "Fever?" "I?" Jai feeling a bit stupid and looking at Bani who was looking at Dadi only and didn't even look at me. And here I was thinking why she didn't come to check up on him all day. Sitting Bani close to Jai Dadi turned to go back, smiling to herself. "meh kuch bhejti hu kahne ko, tum dono tehro yaha?"

Bani sat really stiff, her shoulders were touching his and she felt very very aware of him close by. Jai just stared back at her. The way her hair smelt, it was so, so refreshing. Wanting to move his hands in them, fiddle them. How would the feel in his fingers? Bani sat quiet not saying anything to Jai and just stared at her finger nails "I wasn't flirting with Aditya!" she said flatly. Jai looked at her confused why was she so distant with him, "wasn't he a caring husband, didn't they have intimacy in their relationship, weren't they the normal lovey dovey couples out there?" "Bani I," moving closer to her and placing one hand behind her sitting to face her on the sofa in a comfortable position! Bani stared back, what was he doing? As it is this much distance wasn't good for her self control and if it wasn't for Dadi she would have got up and ran at the first opportunity.

Jai looked at her features, so simple, so innocent, how a business tycoon as himself married such a simple girl. "Bani, did we have a fight before the accident?" Bani froze and all of a sudden started sweating, feeling of cold chills running through her body. "Everytime im around or we are together, I feel there is a wall between us, did we?" Dadi was a saviour, coming in with Sam and a tray of tea and things to eat. Bani looked up "Dadi, heaving a sign of relief. What was she supposed to tell him, God save me wiping her sweaty hands and shaking, lifting up her cup of tea?

After which Jai retired back to work and Bani headed of to their room, out of his way and out of his sight. Things were getting too out of control for her and she didn't want to mess anything further. She knew too well what the real Jai WAlia was like so she wasn't going to fool herself with what all she was seeing now!

It must have been close to 9pm when Bani finished with her shower and wiping her hair came out of the bathroom. Her bathrobe in place she threw her towel after vigorously drying her hair, onto the bed without looking and headed for the dresser to comb her hair. If she could get into bed before Jai, she didn't have to answer to any questions. It was easier dealing with him in that way. She had made sure that Sam had given him his medications and food on time, he was well looked after.

Combing her hair, one stroke, two she froze half way looking through the mirror as Jai sat with his laptop looking at her from the bed. Turning quickly fidgeting with her hairbrush, "I am sorry, I, I didn't see you," running forward grabbing her towel that had apparently landed on his head and he was sitting there smiling. "Its okay, waise bhi mera towel hai," jai gave it to her returning to his laptop, only he knew how much he wanted to get up grab her and hold her. "Not now Jai Walia, he kept correcting himself." Bani took the towel quickly and took it to the bathroom, cursing to her self "stupid' "stupid" "stupid" His towel, ofcoz Bani it's his room, in his house, so it's going to be his towel. She had dried herself with the exact same towel. It felt so intimate and blushing without reason BAni had to regain her composure before going back into the bedroom. Face reality Bani, this is not he real Jai, get your mind straight and stop wondering.

Lifting the duvet of her side of the bed she got in turning the switch on her side and tried sleeping. Jai turned to see her get in bed and turn off her lights. Working on his laptop, his concentration long gone he tried hard, poor guy, what was one to do when you have a sexy looking wife, all wet out of shower walking around you so relaxed, so beautiful. Oh it was so hard.

Bani tried so hard but sleep that was far from coming. Jai finally after some 30 minutes or so closed his laptop taking his last medicines for the day, turning towards Bani as he leaned forward slowly. Bani closed her eyes really tight and pretended she didn't feel him move towards her. Closing herself together bringing her legs hugging herself as Jai leaned forward straitening the side of her hair and kissing her cheeks. "Good night" he whispered, finally turning his side of the lights off and sleeping. Bani opened her eyes and for the first time in many months felt good about being here, being with him. Was this a reality or a dream did the mean, ruthless man who had once been so harsh to her just kissed her goodnight so gently? Oh she was so confused, where was this marriage going? What kind of future did it lead? And most importantly, what would happen when reality hits Jai and he gets his memory back, what becomes of me than? Closing her eyes, once again the black clouds seemed to cloud her thoughts!

She used his towel... hayee.. so cute!😳

OMG you should have seen my reaction when i read the words "Aditya" and "Young and single". I sort of went "..." because I thought it was something else😉😆 and I was laughing like crazy😆😆😆. But i was wrong in what I thought...i misunderstood it all😆!

I have to admit that it is cute to see JW so confused...I can imagin it all! So sweet!!😛

I like the way that he is slowly realizing that B is so distant from his and has caught on that perhaps a fight took place! I don't want B to give in so easily to JW😡. Poor baby...she must have cried so much😭, makes me feel so sad and unhappy!

btw I loved her feelings towards the simple cute kiss😛 that JW gave her....it's cute that he can be sweet...but still to me he is a J.E.R.K till i know why he treated her like a dirt!
