Part 6

He carefully brought her trinket to his eyes, narrowing them slightly in desperate vain to find the letters he had, had engraved so long ago. The silver chain hit the light, and he gasped.

"Bani I love you….J.W.K."

Yes, it was there. This was his Bani, his sweetheart…the one to whom he had given his heart to long ago. The shock was too much, he felt his body grow weak and felt the sudden need to sit down, letting go of her frail arm.

Bani stared at the handsome man in confusion, unable to understand what was going on and why all of a sudden he had grown pale. Never had she seen a man look so lost and dejected as he did, it was as if someone had taken a pump and pumped the life out of him. Her eyes wandered down to her bracelet unable to make a connection between his reaction and it. Sighing, she turned away, and looked out towards of the window, remembering the incident that had happened long ago. She mentally cursed her stupidity at driving drunk four years ago, resulting in her accident and amnesia. Bani didn't remember anything besides her parents…and the bracelet, which for some reason she felt attached to, but never quite understood why. Even when she had asked her parents about it, they has mentioned something about her best friend but had never explained who he really was, being only concentrated on her health. She now, really wished she had pursued her questions on it with them, but had let it drop; knowing then that they already had a full plate with her sudden memory loss.

His voice suddenly pulled her out of her thoughts, his question making her shiver with uncertainty.
"Where..where did you get that"

Jai stared at her, finally finding the courage to open his mouth
"Where…where did you get that?"
He was unsure why she hadn't recognized him, he surely couldn't have changed that much…but then he was not one to talk, having not recognized her. It took her a few seconds to finally reply, her eyes rising to meet his.
"I…I don't know" she whispered.
"What do you mean? This looks so expensive…someone must have given it to you." he urged, his temper slowly rising…how could she forget so easily?
"I don't know" she muttered quietly, as if scared of her own words, but Jai didn't care anymore…how could she forget?
"Kya hai…someone special give it to you? You must remember…it's not like you have memory loss" he sneered, knowing very well he was out of line in his remark…but he didn't care.
He saw her expression harden, her eyes moving away from his, and her lips pursed.
"Haan…hai. I am suffering from amnesia"
Her words hit him like a current, his ears unwilling to believe the truth that flowed so easily from her mouth….
"Wh…what??"
"You heard Mr.Walia…I am suffering from amnesia. I was involved in a car accident four years ago…I am lucky that I am even alive. So when I say I don't know who I got it from I have no idea…"

Bani, had no idea why she was telling her boss this ( or why he even cared so much), but she suddenly felt the need to tell him…as if he would understand. She knew the idea of trusting her boss with such personal things was stupidity, but she felt compelled…as if she owed him an explanation.
"I…I am so sorry" she heard him say, his voice sounding so sincere and almost hurt.
She looked back at him, searching his steady gaze for pity- the one thing she loathed, but found none.
"It…it's ok. I just really wish I knew who he was…my best friend. I don't even know how he looks like…but this…I.." she trailed off, unable to comprehend why she had said so much…it wasn't like he cared.
"S…sorry. This isn't your problem, I shouldn't have even told you this..I..I, Sorry"

She looked so lost and distressed, he just wanted to take her into his arms and soothe her troubled mind, explaining who he was, but he knew she would freak if he did. He closed his eyes, saying a silent thank you to god for finally answering his prayers, as god himself had brought his angel to his doorstep.
"It…it's ok. Bani" he stated quietly, suddenly amused by the way she said sorry so many times.

Jai Walia wasn't going to let go of her now that he had found her. He would make sure her memory recovered and she remembered him...he would have fun with her...teasing her memory, with his games.

Thanks for this awesome update. Liked how the storyline progressing. So Bani Rani is suffering from Amnesia and couldn't recognize love of her life. Wondering how Jai would help her with getting back her memory. Please continue soon 😃
