I think JAi is trying to protect Bani since someone is trying to hurt her or he is trying to expose Saahil's murder mystery with help of ACP.

Yes I agree too...
1. Bani is innocent
2. Jai is now first going to get Bani out of the jail on the plea that she is "mental"

3. The camcorder recording was deliberately done by Sahil to frame Bani - he pointed to Bani in his camcorder as his murderer and then he disappeared (killed someone else - abhilasha's bro - and let people think that he died in the fire accident)

4. Jai found this out and got the camcorder evidence destroyed.

5. Jai realized that Sahil is trying to prove Bani committed his murder so Jai devised a plan with Karuna to make it seem as though Bani is imagining everything (or has gone crazy)so that she is not put in jail 😳
- he paid the old lady at the temple to behave the way she did
- he asked Karuna to appear before Bani near Jannat apts. and later deny that she was ever there.

6. Jai and Karuna are still working hand-in-glove to get their hands on Sahil 👏
