Bani arrives at Mumbai…while going towards Walia Mansion in a taxi, she looks around, such a big city…in her whole life she remained within Rajasthan and had been to Delhi when she was very young but Mumbai, she started wondering how will she cope in this congested big city…
Seeing Walia Mansion, her heart beat skipped, it was big and sprawling in one of the posh areas of Mumbai…aren't the real estate very high in Mumbai and maintaining such a house…wondered Bani…no wonder Pia was finding Mt Abu home small….
Bani enters with Pia and Pushkar…seeing them two elderly ladies who were sitting give a delighted cry…they must be masi & dadi, Bani guesses, Pia had told her about the members of Walia Mansion, Jai Walia a man of 38, shares his house with his masi, who was widowed at an early age and ever since stayed with her sister and her family, his elder sister Jigyasa, her husband Aditya, his mother Dadi or Biji and their children Ranveer, Sahil and Anu and last but not the least Nachiket, half brother of Jai & Jigyasa.
Arree beta aah gaya…Pushkar & Pia take their blessing and Bani follows….jeete raho jeete raho…
Dadi: Toh yeh hai Bani…kitna sundar ladki hai…ayo beta, baitho
Masi calls for tony to take their luggage and sends for nasta…
As Pia was giving an update of her visit, suddenly Bani notices, a lady coming down from the stairs, she was attractive but dressed to look as if she was going out to some party…comes and sits down and looks at Bani…
Pushkar: Jigyasa maam, yeh Bani hai, meri saali…
Jig: wah abhi singhania khandan bhi hamare dharamshala me a geya….yeh baaki tha…
Dadi: Aare Jigyasa...Pushkar ne Jai se pooch liya hai aur Bani to parne ayi hai…
Jig: Ajtak Jai bhaiya ne kisi ko na kaha hai keya…jo bhi dekho chale ateh hai..
Masi: Jigyasa apne jaban ko lagam dena seekho, aur us hisab se hum saab Jai ke meherbani se rehte hai…tumbhi, mai bhi…
Jig: Masi, yeh mera ghar hai, me is ghar mai pali bari hu, mai hak se rehti hu…
Masi: Toh theek hai na...tumto ho na idhar...aur yeh saab baato ko chhoro...munna sunega toh gussa karega....chalo Bani, mai tumhe tumhara kamra dikhati hu...
Bani goes with Masi to her room, which is just next to Anu's room, Jigaysa's daughter Bani learns....
It is a quite a large room, beautifully decorated but not as per Bani's taste…dark colours, heavy curtains, closed windows because of the airconditioning…Bani likes airy rooms..with natural ventilation…but she likes the bathroom….very modern and luxurious…Bani starts unpacking…as she was putting things away, she thinks about Jigyasa, thank god I am not going to stay here for long, god what a snob the woman is…though masi and daadi are down to earth but then…it is very difficult to put up with a woman like that…how does Pia manage…she thinks…but then Pia can answer back she knows….
After Pia and Pushkar leave for office later during the day…she spent her time with masi & dadi…they like her…such a bubbly and simple girl….so pretty thought dadi….her eyes twinkled when she laughed……….towards the evening Anu, daughter of the house came in, nice girl thought Bani but a little spoilt…same age as the twins, she found out…
During dinner time, she met rest of the party except for the owner of the house…he has dinner appointment, she came to know…took instant liking of aditya…like his mother he was happy go lucky man..Bani couldn't help wondering how could he end up marrying some one like his wife…found their son Sahil to be a big flirt..winked at her when she was being introduced and Ranveer very serious, has joined his Mamaji's business, and with a tika on his head looked quite formadible…she liked Nachiket, half brother of Jai & Jigyasa, a simple guy, maybe a couple of years elder than her, smiled easily…very level headed thought Bani, .the family had all their meals together unless they have invitations otherwise…
After dinner, Pia goes off to bed, she was very tired. Pushkar informed her that tomorrow morning he will introduce her with Jai Sir and then they will decide the rest…in the meanwhile if anu has no objection she can use her P.C to find out about the colleges in Mumbai offering such course….
Anu was going out with her friends, its Friday night…Bani logs on to her computer…around 1230 in the night…..anu is still not back…Bani switches off the computer and gets out to go to her room, from the gallery sees a man wearing a dark suit entering the house…his gait is such, it reminded Bani of a Lion walking in his territory…Tony hands over some mails to him, he goes through the pile, takes two or three and gives the rest back to tony and heads towards the staircase…Bani goes into her room…

Next morning, Bani comes down to the hall, find everybody has assembled except for the owner of the house, Masi is going around with arati ka thali....suddenly it goes all quiet and Bani looks up to find the owner with long strides is walking down the gallery…as the rest of the members go to take their seats in the dining table, Pushkar holds Bani back…..masi goes forward to give him the arati as he comes down…muttering to herself…mai aur kitna din yeh karoongi….ek bahu la de…Bani sees a faint smile on his lips…kisses masi…Masi yeh dialogue bahut purana ho gaya …kuch naya sochiye…
Masi: Yeh dialogue tujhe sunna parega, jab tak mere bahu nehi a jate…..
Pushkar: Good Morning Jai Sir, yeh Bani hai, meri sali….
He looks up to watch Bani doing a namaste…..Bani feels a gaze piercing through her, looks into a pair of hard eyes, though the lips twitches into a smile, but they do not reach his eyes…he simply nods his head in acknowledgement….Bani could feel her hands growing cold, she looks at Pushkar, who in the meanwhile was giving a brief update the reason for Bani's visit…he listens intently….
JW: Aisa hai aaj subah mere kafi sare appointments hai…tum ek kam karo…Mrs D'silva se check kar lena…aur ho sake to aaj hi 2nd half me Bani ko office le ana…ha aur don't forget her papers…he goes to take his seat at the head of the long table for breakfast.
