Contract Heir
Bani gets down from the auto at the gates of her mamaji's house in Mt Abu with a mixed feeling. She has just given the examination for her graduation and is returning from her hostel from Jaipur to her mamaji's place in Mt Abu, which has been her home for the last 3 years as she has lost her parents Nishikant & Kiran Dixit in a car accident just after her Class XII examination…she was visiting Mt Abu, like she did in most of her holidays, being the only child she loved to be with her cousins, Pia, Rano and Dhruv and her parents were coming from Jaipur where her father was a civil servant, to take her back but on the way, met with an accident, and Mt Abu, became Bani's home town.
Raghuveer Singhania was sitting in the varanda in an easy chair with his tea and the news papers, lifts his head and looks towards the gate as he heard it open to see Bani entering, dragging her suitcase and her bags along….he shouts for Dhruv and tells him to help Banidi…Dhruv comes out…quite a handsome young man, slightly spoilt by his mother but not harmful and loves Bani…hi Bani, exam kaise huwa, achhai hoga…tumhe keya kehna, achha student ho…
Bani: didi kaha gayi…mai tumse bari hu…
Dhruv: Ha bahut bari, 9 mahine ka....he takes her luggage and goes inside.....Bani comes and stands next to her mamaji's chair and takes his blessings..
Raghu pats Bani's head: Bus ka time bata deti toh Dhruv ko bhej deta tujhe lene ke liye..
Bani: Mamaji aap bhi na, ek scooter mai itna sare samaan thori na ata aur waise bhi Dhruv subah utt nehi pata hai..
Raghu: aree abhi kal hi to Pia ayi subah subah, Dhruv gaya tha uska dost ka gari leke, aur Pia ke saman ke samne to tera kuch bhi nehi hai beta…
Bani: Pia-di ayi hai, aur Pushkar bhi ...
Raghu: Nehi Pushkar nehi, sirf Pia, ja ja andar ja, teri mami se jake mil le...
Bani goes inside, she was dreading to meet her mami, thinking what will she say...when Bani used to visit earlier, her mami looked forward to her visits as Bani's mother sent lots of gift for her and her children....but since her parents died and from the time Bani is staying at Mt Abu, Maya Mami's attitude towards her has changed....another girl in the family...how will she get her married, bear the expenses of her studies, fooding, lodging etc etc...tumhara mama ka chhota sa business hai, aur makan pushtaini hai, isiliye hamara gujara ho jata hai, abh teen teen bacche hai hamara...abh phir tum...kyo tumhara chacha kaha reh gaya...kyo nehi leke jata tumko…etc etc.. but bani knows that her mamaji inspite of his personal financial difficulties have invested her father's money which she got in such a way that expenses for studies and hostel fees were taken care of…
Bani because of her mami's cribbing, she went away to Jaipur for her graduation.
Bani enters the house…sees her mami is sitting in the dining table cutting vegetables while Rano kneading the flour…Bani takes her blessings….
Mami: A gayi, ho gaya parai…abhi agey ka socho kaya karogi...and before she would complete...rano takes over...aree Banidi, bahut accha huwa tum a gayi, Piadi bhi ayi hai aur humlog khub masti karenge…jao jao haath muh dho lo..mai roti banati hu aur abh sath me nasta karenge…
Bani goes in…the house has 3 bed rooms, one for mama & mami, one for the girls and the 3rd for Dhruv…Bani enters the girls bedroom to find that Dhruv has dumped her luggage in one corner and rest of the room is occupied by Pia's luggage…Pia is sleeping on the bed wearing a pajama and a skimpy top…Bani looks at her and then pulls her suitcase to take out her clothes…
Pia: Oooof hooo, dhruv sone do…tabse khali khali awaze kar rahe ho….
Bani: Good morning Pia Di…mai Bani…
Pia: Oh Bani...abh toh utnahi parega...she gets up, yawns and stretches showing half her body…
Bani: Kaisi ho tum…suna tumne shaadi kar li, lekin jija ko nehi laye saath me…
Pia always had big dreams, unlike Rano & Bani, she always got dressed as per fashion, street smart, she was considered to be a beauty in Mt Abu and as she was extrovert too, boys got attracted to her much to her father's dismay and her mother's delight. Maya was proud of her first born…uski shaadi mai uchi khandan me dungi, kisi paise wale ke saath and was very disappointed when Pia had informed her from Mumbai where she was working in the Walia Group of Industries as Marketing Executive for the last 2 years that she wanted to get married to her colleague Pushkar Shukhla, an orphan but blue eyed boy of their employer Mr Jai Walia…Maya refused to give her permission, keya ek anath ke saath saadi karegi…Mr Walia ka blue eyed boy hai ko jab tu pata sakti hai to Mr Walia ko kyo nehi…TV me dekha hai woh bhi kafi handsome hai, shaadi bhi nehi hui hai unki…ha umar me thora bara hai…lekin usse kya hota hai…
Bani knew Pia to be fickle minded and had a tendency to get bored with things easily but if she wanted something, she was a go getter…did not leave anything unturned to fulfill her needs….so one fine day, Rano called up Bani in her hostel about 3 months back and informed that Pia had called home a little while ago to inform that last night she & Pushkar have got married…Since Pushkar stays in Mr Jai Walia's home, she has moved in with him soon after marriage in the mandir…and gave them her new phone nos…and as predicted mummy is drowning herself in tears. Papa upset…maine bola tha tumko shaadi ke lye raaji ho jao, anath huwa to kya huwa, accha kamata hai, apni beti ko bhi nehi pehchanti ho..
So Pia has come after three months on the insistence of Mr Walia's masi to pacify her parents and if they agree Pushkar will join her for two/three days and then she will go back to Mumbai…
Pia: Kya garmi hai idhar..ek cooler se kya hota hai…shaam ke pehle ghar se hi nehi nikal sakte…bore ho jayungi mai ghar me baith baith kar…phirbhi achha hai tum ayi ho..company mil jayega…Mt Abu waise ki waise reh gayi…
Bani: Abh to February ka mahina hai, garmi kaha hai, aur mumbai me garmi nehi hai keya...
Pia: Walia Mansion pura a.c hai aur hamara office bhi, gari bhi toh garmi ka patah hi nehi chalta....
