Jai made his way upstairs. He opened his door and walked into his room. He saw an idle figure wrapped in his warm blankets. He got closer to her. Her hair was still wet, slightly frizzled. A subtle smile played on her lips and she wore a peaceful expression in light slumber. Jai was mesmerized. He couldn't take his eyes of her. She looked adorable in his extra large red shirt. She looked beautiful and innocent, in her own little world. Jai eyes moved to her slender arm and he noticed there were scratches on them. He felt anger bubble inside him and knew those beasts were responsible for them. It pained him somehow. He moved his fingers towards her arm and felt her soft skin brush against the tip of his fingers. Those scratches must have hurt her. Suddenly, he saw her expression change. He removed his hand. She was frowning and started to stir. Her peaceful expression was replaced with a troubled and scared one. He felt her struggle. She started mumbling, eyes still closed.

Girl: nahin… nahin… mujhe.. Chod… do …

She started whimpering. Jai grew concerned. Beads of sweat started forming on her forehead. She eyes shot open and she sat up, terrified. Breathing heavily, she frantically looked around. Jai sat beside her and placed his hands gently on her shoulders. She let out a yelp and moved pushed off his hands, tears now streaming down her cheeks.

Girl: let me go, LET ME GO! Mujhe ghar jaana hai… mujhe meri mummmy chahiye… AAP KON HAI?!?!
She managed to say between sobs.

Jai stared at her innocent eyes welled up in tears. He wanted to hold her in his arms and let her cry on his shoulders. She started crying loudly.

Jai: Shhh! Shhh!

He tried to shush her, but she wouldn't listen. God knows why she kept screaming that she wanted her mommy. Where's MW when u need her?!?!?! He couldn't take it anymore. Jai cupped her face with his hands tightly and pulled her close. Frightened, she closed her eyes tight and shut her lips.

Jai: Chup.
He wiped her tears, slowly ,and loosened his grip. She opened her eyes and started at the handsome face in front of her. She recalled MW coming in earlier and telling her how her son had rescued her and how MW helped her into his clothes. She was lost in Jai's eyes as Jai was lost his hers. He had the most intense and gorgeous muddy brown eyes she had ever seen. He continued stroking her soft skin and she realized how warm his touch felt, how she luved its sensation. The stranger drooped her eyelids and a slight blush crept to her cheeks despite all her efforts to control it. Jai let go of her and she felt a sharp pain somewhere in her heart, as if she had been separated from her soul mate.

Jai: Are you… okay? I'm sorry this had to happen to you. You are safe here, you can spend the night if you wish.

The stranger looked back at him. After an uneasy silence, she mumbled a quick thanks. She voice was syrupy sweet and though it didn't surprise Jai, it drew him even closer to her.

Jai: It's fine. Ummm… who, if I may ask, ARE u?

The girl looked up with weak eyes.

Girl: I am nobody. I have no identity. Meri vajood ab aur nahin rahe. I have no one. I am no one.

Jai: Uhhhh…. Ooookay.
He saw the pain in her eyes when she uttered those words. He sympathized with her and wanted to know why she was compelled to say those words, for he knew she meant them. It was going to be a long night.

Jai: Well, I hope things get better. I wish… I wish… I could just give up too.

Girl: give up?

Jai: Yea, give up. I'm tired of hiding all the pain. I'm tired of hiding from life.

Girl: then face it.

Jai: It's not so easy.

Girl: I noe its not.

Jai sighed and looked down. He was loosing. Loosing to life, loosing to the world. Loosing to himself. He felt like pouring his heart out to the stranger in front of him.

The beautiful ajnabi moved her hand from her lap and touched his cheek gently. She could see that he was in pain. She could see that he was not as strong as he appeared to be. He was scared and lonely. Just like she was.

Surprised at her warm gesture, Jai looked up. Her touch was so comforting. He felt so close to her.

Girl: U noe how they say that God gives us only so much pain that we can handle?
Jai slightly nodded. That was very crappy advice according to him.

Girl: well, u can either believe in that, or believe in yourself. You can either look to God, or look to yourself.
She took his hand and place it on his heart. : Look inside yourself. Inside your heart. And noe that you can do it. Kismat hume dard deta hai aur iska samna hum khud karte hai (srry for da bad hindi, I'm not Indian nor do I speak hindi. I only understand it). If you have faith in life, if you have faith in yourself, that inner strength comes from within. Comes from here. - indicating the heart with her hand.

Jai looked at her, amazed. She was so weak, yet so strong. She had not given up on life, she was determined to live fully. He gazed into her eyes. Gosh, they were so emotional and beautiful. She removed her hand.

Girl: Bhagwan par bharosa rako. Wo hame dard aur shakti dono deta hai. Aur hume us shakti ko khud dhoona hota hai. Never give up.

Jai was speechless.

Jai (barely managing to speak): who…. Who are u?

Girl (chuckling softly): Bas ek ajnabi.

Suddenly, everything went dark. The electricity went out. The young girl was frightened once again… dead scared of the dark. She huddled closely towards jai and hugged him tight. Her eyes were shut tight and her lips were trembling. Jai was engulfed by darkness, yet a new light had come into his life. Like a wild wind, like a thundering storm. His hands moved up to her back and he held her with all his might, breathing in her homely essence and warmth. Both of them sat in a tight embrace as time seemed to come to a beautiful standstill.

😭 i feel lyk crying myself. srry, it was a boring part... but i think u guys will enjoy the next one... 😉 the story takes an INTERESTING turn....

probably gonna update tomorrow. im so bored. and lazy.
