Thank you all for reading and comments. Its nice to hear your encouraging words. Don't worry JB will be together in the end... (just kidding ,it will be soon). Now we need to shift the scene a bit to Rano. I hope you like the following parts. It will give an idea behind Pia's actions.
Part 8(a):
Rano has been following Pia since their meeting that day. She had hired a reputable detective to do the snooping. It was costing her a bomb, but it was worth it. From the reports she noticed that Pia was making daily trips to the bank at lunchtime. Today, Rano decided to trail her and see what she was up to there. At the bank, Rano bumps into Pia ,with banking slip in hand, both their slips fall to the ground.
R: Pia, tum yahan.
P: a bit scared of Rano. Ha kuch kaam tha (nervously)Rano purposely picks up the wrong slip, quickly glances at the account no and amount. Rano has a photographic memory and a penchant for numbers memorizes all the facts. Rano walks away towards the counter
P: Rano, rukho!
Rano turns around and looks at Pia with a 'what is it' look.
P: I think our slips got mixed up.
Snatches her slip from Rano's hand
P: yeh tumara hai (hands her the one in her hand)
Pia leaves, Rano smiles.
Rano makes her way to meet with the bank manager. Uses her Walia connections to dig information into Pia's account.
Rano is shocked when she get Pia's balance statement.
R: 10 krore ! Pia ko itney paisey kaha sey mile? There was a two deposits of 5 krore made last month, one during the time pia was in dubai and one after she returned.
R: Mr Verma, could you please monitor this account and let me know when further large deposits are made?
V: No problem Mrs Walia. We have a long relationship with the Walias and I am happy to assist in any way possible.
Rano thanks him and leaves.
Rano receives a call from the detective. Pia had gone to the hospital for a check-up and gives Rano the name of the doctor. Rano makes an appointment for herself with the same doctor.
D: Mrs Walia, so good to see you. How are you?
Rano pretends that she has been having tummy pains and especially bad during her mensuration. Doctor does a scan and says everything looks normal and prescribes some medication to alleviate the pain. Rano gets a bit nosey
R: My sister comes to see you too. How is she doing? Yes, isn't it good news she is going to be mother again. Everyone in your house must be so happy, especially Mr Walia. He was so excited about his baby the last time but it was so sad what happened to Mrs Walia. She was so badly beaten up we couldn't save the baby.
Rano is shocked. Di is pregnant! She is lost in thoughts
D: Mrs Walia, Mrs Walia (shouting)
R: Sorry doctor. Mein meri dusri bahen Pia ki hal puchna tha. She came for her check up today. How is her condition?
D: She is improving. After the operation she is still having some infection problems, so she is still on the antibiotic course.
Rano is confused.
R: Per usney kaha key woh maa beney wali hai. Shayid meiney galat samjha.
D: No problems. it happens when both sisters come in for checkups together. Maybe you misread the names on the reports.
R: Who collected the reports?
D: Your sister Pia did.
R: Thank you doctor, i need to go.
They shake hands.
Rano is really angry this time. She could strangle Pia. Pia switched the reports. What is she up to?
