Part-V
The romance between Jai and Bani had already began to brew. With each passing day, the love and the passion were becoming more evident to everyone.
Being with Bani changed Jai so much. Jai had become more relaxed and patient and sometimes use to laugh and joke with others.
What surprised Walia family and Jai's close friends were the fact that the change in Jai though gradual was a welcome one.
Jai Walia the man who people use to think twice before speaking in his presence, the same man today was the talk of the town not for his business but for the romance he was having with Bani, a refreshing change to all the people who loved and cared about Jai.
The most shocking incident in recent months was when Jai proposed that they all go for a movie. The family could not believe what they were hearing. Bani was stunned and Jiggs and her family were gaping at Jai like he was a alien. Jiggs told Bani what have you done with my brother? Whatever it is I am loving this new Jai.
Tony almost dropped the tray with tea cups when he heard Jai talking about movies. He was very pleased to see Jai so happy. Though he did not get paid enough to take this kind of shock which Jai was springing on him on a regular basis.
They had now been going out for six months. And Jai decided it was time to take this relationship to the next level. He wanted to propose to Bani.
So he decided he needed Ranveer, Saahil and Anu's help.
He called all of them to his office this morning at 11:00am.
Walia Industries,
25th Floor,
Nariman Bhavan,
Nariman Point,
Jai Walia's Cabin,
Monday morning,
11:00am,
Jai Walia had been pacing up and down for sometime. His palms were sweating. He was nervous he could believe he was so nervous, he was Jai Walia, he was a business tycoon, he had sealed many deals and this is just proposing to Bani, I mean how difficult can this be? He was too agitated. His heart-rate was accelerating at the speed of light.
He was having goosebumps just thiinking of proposing to Bani, he mouth was dry, he could not believe why was this happening to him?
He had no speech, he was pacing up and down like a man man. He decided to say his speech outloud he said,"Bani you know what?
And the reply came,"Yes Jai what happened?"
Jai stood stumped in his tracks and turn around to look at the smiling face of Bani he had no clue what he was going to say.
Bani said tell me Jai what u wanted to talk about.
Jai smiled and said I want to take out on a date tonight at 8pm. Will u come?
Bani said, "Sure Jai I will where are we going?"
Jai said,"It is a surprise."
Bani said,"I like surprises"
They were about to kiss when the door opened and
Ranveer, Saahil and Anu walked in.
All three said in unison,"Hamne kuch nahi dekha, hum kuch nahi kisi se kahega."( We have not seen anything ans we not tell anyone about this.)
Bani blushed and ran away from the cabin.
Jai looked at his two nephews and his niece and told them that he needed their help.
Ranveer asked about what?
Jai looked at them and said,"Well, tonight I want to propose to Bani."
All three of them of them gaped at Jai they could not believe what they were hearing and then they started dancing and shouting and then they all gave Jai a huge hug.
Jai also hugged them and said I need ur help. And all three of them said whatever u want Mamaji.
Jai told them what his plan was. Ranveer& Saahil told Jai they will take care of the arrangements.
Anu said she will take care of the decorations.
And all of them left Jai's office and Jai made them promise that at no point of time should Bani get a wind of this. They all promised and went to take care of the arrangements to make it a very memorable evening for Mamaji and their future Bani Mami.
Jai then raced from his office cancelling all his appointements for the day and telling his assistant if anybody asked about him just tell him he has gone for a meeting. Nothing else.
The assistant told Jai,"No problem Mr. Walia. And good luck for tonight."
Jai smiled and said, "Thank you."
Jai called his sister Jiggs and asked her to be ready as he is coming to pick her up. He said he will tell her on the way.
By the time Jai reached Jiggs was waiting for him. Jai told Jiggs the reason and Jiggs could not believe what she was hearing. She smiled and hugged Jai. And off they went to the jewellery store to pick up the engagement ring for Bani.
Dixit Residence,
Bani's room,
7:30pm
Bani was getting ready to spend the evening with Jai. She kept wondering what would be Jai's surprise but had no clue. She probably thought Jai would gift her something nice.
The car came to pick Bani. Jai was not there. The driver told Bani Jai was waiting for her at the restaurant as he was in a meeting all day and asked me to come and pick you up.
Bani a little surprised but did not say anything.
The car reached the venue.
Bani came into the restaurant and was stunned to see it was completely empty. She saw it was beautifully decorated. A live band playing. A cake waiting for the ocassion. The room filled with flowers and balloons all over the place.
A romantic candle-lit dinner table waiting for her.
And Jai stood there smiling in a black tux.
Bani was stunned to see Jai in a tux. He looked so handsome and smart.
Jai smiled and walked upto Bani and guided her to the table.
The server came and poured champagne for them. Jai asked Bani to dance. And they slow danced to the live band.
Jai was getting restless and decide now was the time, the moment and he had the element of surprise.
So he took Bani to the window and told her that the night was so beautiful the moon, the stars and you.
They were looking at the sky when the fireworks started and Bani was so happy to see them and then came the words that Jai wanted her to see:
Spread across the blue sky were the words that Jai wanted to tell her:
It said:
"Bani, the love of my life, Will you marry me?"
Seeing those words spread across the sky Bani gasped and stunned looked at Jai saw Jai had gotten down on one leg and had a 10 carat stunning diamond ring holding towards her.
Bani had tears in her eyes she could not believe finally the day had come when she will marry Jai.
Jai said,"Bani you have made me the most happiest man, I want to be happy with you and you only. So to do that I want to spend my life with you. Bani, will you be mine forever. Will you marry me?"
Bani had tears flooding her cheeks. She was so happy and she nodded and then said, "Yes, Jai I will marry you. I love you so much."
And then Jai put the ring in Bani's hand and then they kissed.
And then they hugged each other and loved it every minute of it.
