Chapter 31-A

"GET AWAY YOU DISEASE!! YOU'RE LIKE A FUNGUS SID! A FUNGUS! JUST GET AWAY FROM MY ROOM!!!" she screamed and then hiding her head between two pillows she fell into a peaceful sleep of her and Mr Walia…

Sid thanked God Pia and Rano were asleep on the other wing of the house…though he wouldn't be surprised if they had awoken even the staff from their separate quarters with all their racket. Indeed, Pia and Rano came running along, night gowns flowing behind them, to see what the cause of the noise was.
Pia stopped dead in her tracks, causing Rano, who was busy re-adjusting her glasses on her nose, to bump into her.
"SID?!"
"P--"
"Sid, tum yahaan kyaa kar rahe ho?!"
"Ran--"
*door opens*
"EVERYBODY PLEASE, JUST SHUT UP!"
"Sorry di"
"Bani!"
"Leave me alone you fungus…I told you what I had to…now shove off and leave my sisters alone!"
"Fungus?!!! HAHAHAAHHA" Rano held her stomach as she laughed hard at Sid's nickname.
"Di, what's happening…why is this loser bothering you?!" Pia asked, eyeing Sid.
"Pia, Rano…Rano stop laughing!...You guys, forget it…it's nothing big…Sid here was just leaving…and so were you two" Bani said in a cool voice, already turning back into her room.
"Di…"
"Yea?"
"Can we stay with you?"
"Sure, go in" Bani said, holding the door for Pia and Rano to enter, while giving Sid a cold sneer and forcing him to turn around defeated and head to his room…Where he decided he would come up with a new strategy to deal with Bani, and the new problem: Mr Walia.

In B's Room:
"Di…what did that fungus--"
"HAHAHAHAH …FUNGUS!!!" Rano howled, slapping her knee. She honestly couldn't stop laughing at it!
Making a face at Rano, Pia continued, "Yea…what the heck did he want?"
"He was pestering me about our past…blab la bla…how I could not truly love MR Walia…bla blab la…Um…Bla bla bla?" Bani ended, innocently grinning.
"HAHA, di…you are so lame…OK, let's forget all this. I'm so tired…Hopefully we don't have to see that freak again tomorrow!!" Pia yawned, crawling under Bani's thick sheets, snuggling up to Bani.
Once Rano's giggles subsided, she too joined Pia in snuggling up next to Bani.
"Hey guys! Idea!" Bani whispered loudly and suddenly, causing Pia and Rano to shoot up.
"What di?" they both asked with sudden interest.
Bani leaned in and whispered something, all three pairs of eyes gleaming mischievously in the dark as they giggled and then went off to a pleased sleep.

Next Day…

JW's Office:

Jai had been flogged the entire day at the office. The press kept calling to see if all what supposedly happened at the Dixit Inc party hall was true yadda yadda yadda. Jai gave vague grunts and impatient answers till the pesky reporters got the idea and left his soul alone.
All the media and whatnot really wasn't helping his stress levels, as he was also trying to concentrate on his and Bani's project together. He had to go to her office today itself, and yet still nothing was ready! He began wondering if Bani even remembered.
Alas, he got 2 calls, that…he wasn't too sure if it eased his stress or gave him added worries.
The first call was from Bani:

B: Mr Walia?
J: Hi sexy
B: Oh..um…who
J: Stumped are we?
B: Shut up!
J: Acha baba. Toh, what's up?
B: Haila! The press is having a field day with last night's footage!
J: *groans* I know! They've been pestering me the entire morning!
B: Same here…I am frustrating myself on trying to explain and shut them up without giving too much info.
J: Same here
B: I already threatened tones of publishers already, thank God no one ever wants to be on the bad side of powerful people!
J: Amen to that!
B: So…what do you intend to do next Saturday?
J: What's so big about next Saturday? –He was clearly confused, scratching his head trying to figure out what really was happening next Saturday that he could not remember.
B: Acha…teekh hai, koi bath nahin.
J: What's happening Saturday Bani?
B: Nothing, nothing.
J: Baniii
B: Jaiiii
J: WOT?!
B: *blushing on her end* Kuch nahin, bas!
J: Common Bani!
B: Nahin…absolutely not, that was a slip of the tongue.
J: *sexy voice* You know Bani, there's many places my tongue would like to slip…
B: MR WALIA! Behave !
She was beetroot in her chair, and could only muster stammering answers after that.
J: *Laugh* Darling, get used to it.
B: haila! You'd always be a surprise for me
J: hmmmm, do u want me to…
B: Mr Walia! I have to go! Clean that filthy mind of yours and call me later!
Jai couldn't help but grin and recline in his leather chair. Talking to his beloved always eased the stress!
As he was about to return to his work, hustling to finish up his reports and what nots for their meeting, ;purposely doing it now so that he can tease Bani when he arrived, as she had so completely forgotten, not having mentioned it once during their phone call, the other phone call came, this time from Pushkar.

P: Jai sir!
J: Pushkar!
P: Yup! The one and only
J: *laugh* What's up buddy?
P: Just calling to remind you- next Saturday night, 9 pm, the Taj Hotel! Don't forget!
J: Arre, what's with everybody and Saturday?!
P: Haila! You don't remember?!
J: NO!!!
P: Jai sir!!!! It's…oh well…just be there okay?!
J: Lekin, Pushkar…Bani…
P: Don't worry about Bani Di…I have it all under control!
J: WHAT?!!- He was utterly confused!
P: No worries man! All the boys would be there, Karan, Aryan, Veer, Mohan, Nahar, Dhruv, Akshay, and oh yea, that new guy, Tarun!
J: FOR WHAT EXACTLY?!
P: *grinning* Not to worry, we have it all planned, all the ladies would be going out for a girl's night…so you don't have to worry!
J: Pushkar you never cease to confuse me, but ok, I'd be there…I hope this is not a waste of time, I have lots of work to do before Monday!
P: No worries! Jus chill, acha, mein chalta hoon! Byee!
J: Pu-- *sigh*
Calling his secretary, he made her jot down the info, and returned to his work, making a mental note to inform Bani of the latest development in his plans.

Bani's Office:
Bani sat grinning, thinking about the surprise she had planned for Jai on Saturday night. A romantic picnic under the stars, obviously in her mansion gardens, as it had the most splendid designs and flower work, and the most exotic vegetation anywhere in Mumbai, then…who knows what might have happened after? It would be the first time he would be visiting her house…and she had already planned to send Sid on some wild goose hunt and Pia and Rano would probably spend the night by some of their friends!! She had to go all out, I mean, after all…It was going to be Jai's 31st Birthday!! She was delighted at the fact that Jai appeared to have no apparent plans for his birthday, which was like icing on the cake after her and her sisters' gleeful escape from The Fungus, as they now preferred to term Sid.

Early that morning…let's say 6:05-ish
"Di!!" whispered Pia, peering around her shoulder to signal at Bani.
"Shh, Old fungi would hear us!" Rano snorted, sniggering as she also beckoned on Bani to follow them.
The girls had decided last night they would awake early, and escape the Dixit Estate before 'old fungi' could arouse himself and pursue his nagging of Bani again. Bani decided that today she would arrive at the office a little later than normal, figuring she could do with sharing a quality breakfast moment with her sisters, whom she had not really seen much of lately.
Pia was dressed in a casual jeans and a pretty tee, Rano in capris and a spaghetti strap top and Bani obviously in office attire…today she resolved on a short navy blue skirt, a silk button up shirt and her matching navy jacket, her hair in a high ponytail, void of makeup and jewelry, except of course the chain gifted by her Mr Walia, some matching earrings and Guess watch. (Note…trust me, the details of Bani's clothing is important for following part!) She had not felt in the least to don her usual pants suits, because something told her today was gonna be special, and she felt the need to dress up a little!

As the girls crept as silently as possible through the house, Bani couldn't help herself but giggle and marvel at the fact that 3 grown women…ok, Rano wasn't quite a woman yet, but she was getting there, were sneaking around their own house to avoid an unwanted guess.

The had planned an early breakfast at a cozy little coffeehouse Pia had come across while out with Pushkar, and she was adamant that Bani and Rano both visited with her, while suggesting that it might give Bani ideas for her new project with the Walias as well as Rano might be able to go there for alone time to read and stuff, because according to Pia, "the place was just absolutely amazing! With the trendiest designs and most comfortable seating and lighting and everything!! And don't even get me started on those scents! Haila! Di…" and the girls hoped against hope Sid would not be awake in anticipation of just this sort of behaviour!

The fears were confirmed however, as they rounded the corner and padded as softly as possible down the marble staircase, that a door was being opened in quick haste and the echoing, heavy footsteps were no doubt that of Sid. Without wasting a moment, squealing like 5 year olds, they made a dash for the front door, banging against it with all their weight and fleeing out into the now feeble sunlight, hopping into Pushkar's awaiting sports car and heading off towards the Coffeehouse, laughing and grinning at the sight of a perplexed and increasingly angry Sid chasing the car!

They had all made it to the coffeehouse, to which the owner, Mrs Khanna, had been all too pleased to open up the shop early for a certain Ms Dixit and her family, and Pia was right too, the place was absolutely marvelous, and Bani made sure to take note of certain details and styles. They had had a blast and Bani was thankful for this little break away from the office. Pushkar had insisted on a picture of the girls, in which Bani sat in the middle, hugging both Pia and Rano to her sides, until, as soon as Pushkar said, "now, say OLD FUNGI" Rano burst out in laughter and Pia nudged her over Bani and Bani bit her lips from following suit. The picture was a hilarious one, with all three girls smiling and holding hands, full of entertainment and memories.

After all of that, they all dropped Bani off at work, then Rano at school, and Pia and Pushkar headed off to do their own thing. Bani had then had a rather pleasant morning planning out details for Jai's Birthday, and what not. So far the day was going perfect, and it could only get better…she hoped!


Hey yodles!! (lolzzzzz) I'm sorry for delayed update..adn for splitting chapter 31 in parts a and b...but it was the only way to save my neck from my dear Rooj...who's been promised chapter 32...(which was originally supposed to be 27!!!!) ,...so bear with me....and do leave your comments and suggestions and stuff you'd like to see...because ir eally want to know what the audience wants..not just what i want to put!

Anyhow, take care...will post 31-B sometime tomorrow!
