this is a short one you guys.

Part 21:

"Tum kaun hoon?," (English trans: Who are you?) the man repeats himself when Muskaan doesn't answer, but continues to stare at him and the woman next to him, not knowing what to say. "What are you doing in Vijay's house?," the woman asks her.

Muskaan: aph lokh kaun hoon?

"Hum? (English trans: us?) I am Vijay's bhabi and this is his brother, my husband. Who are you?," the woman asks her.

Muskaan remains silent not knowing what to say or do. Should she tell them the truth? About what happened to her?

Muskaan: (mumbles) main muskaan hoon. (English trans: I am muskaan) Please come in.

She lets suraj and pooja enter into Vijay's house.

Suraj: kya tum Vijay ki dost hoon? (English trans: Are you a friend of Vijay's?)
Muskaan: (quickly) ji.
Pooja: how long have you known Vijay?
Muskaan: (lies) quiet a while now.
Suraj: but what are you doing in his house alone?

Muskaan twists her fingers, bits her lips, and continues to stare at Vijay's brother and bhabi, not knowing what to answer.

Mausi: So we will hold a party on Friday, announcing the engagement. Then we'll get both of your horoscopes matched to fix the date of your wedding!

Mausi says cheerfully as everyone agrees with her.

Mausi: Saach, my munna is very lucky to have a girl like you as his wife. (she says sweetly while holding bani's hand)

Touched, bani smiles happily back at Mausi. She grew very fond of Mausi, she was sweet and very kind to her, so were dadi and jigyasa didi. Even though they bothered her a lot, they were nice people. Bani had a feeling that she'd fit in perfectly in jai's family.

Jigs: You are so adorable, bani! (she hugs bani warmly)
Dadi: Why the wait, I say we get these two married as soon as possible!

Jai and bani look at each other and smile. The rest of the day, bani got to know each and every member of jai's family more. Everyone loved her and approved of her. Bani's cell phone rings and she picks it up.

Bani: hello?
Pia: Di? Where are you? You've been gone for such a long time now! Come home soon, rano and me were planning to go out tonight to celebrate, so quickly come home.
Bani: I'm sorry pia, I'll come home in a while. Don't worry.

She cuts off the phone and tells everyone that she needs to leave. Bani quickly says her farewells to everyone and promises to come over the next day, also. Jai takes bani outside to his car.

Jai: (laughing) They love you all,…maybe even more than me.
Bani: (giggles) Your family is wonderful!
Jai: (smiles) you'll fit in just perfectly.

Jai kisses bani gently on her forehead and seats her into the car.

Vijay leans back into his chair with his hands behind his head, staring at the ceiling. His body ached from last night's sleep on the couch, it was very uncomfortable. He shuts his eyes closed, wanting a five minute nap, but doesn't get to because of the rude awakening from his telephone.

Vijay: Hello? (he asks grumpily)
Muskaan: hello, Vijay ji?

Vijay could sense the tension in Muskaan's voice.

Vijay: (worried) muskaan, what's wrong?

Vijay hurriedly parks his car, not caring if it was perfect or not, and got out of it, running to his house. He opens it and looks around, finds Muskaan in the guest room, standing up while suraj bhaiya and bhabi sit down, looking upset. Vijay takes off his coat and hangs it onto a rack, he confronts his brother and sister-in-law.

Vijay: (fake cheeriness) Bhabi! Bhiya! Aph yahan?! (English trans: You here?)

Suraj and pooja stand up from the couch.

Pooja: Yeh ladkhi kaun hain, Vijay? (English trans: Who is this girl, Vijay?)
Suraj: kehti ki tum uska dost hoon? (English trans: She says that you're her friend?) but she doesn't know anything about you!

Vijay looks over at quiet muskaan, looking very worried.

Vijay: Muskaan, you can go into the room.
Muskan: Vijay ji, but-
Vijay: (sternly says) Muskaan.

Muskaan looks down on the ground and walks to the room, shutting the door slightly closed behind her. Vijay looks back to suraj and pooja.

Pooja: Vijay, I asked you a question, who is this girl? And what is she doing in this house?
Suraj: (angrily) is she living with you?
Vijay: Calm down, bhaiya. Yes, muskaan is living with me for now.
Pooja: (cuts off an angry suraj) but who is she?!
Vijay: Muskaan just needs a place to stay, she has no where else to go. A couple of guys were harassing her and I bumped into her. It was late and she had no place to stay, so I let her stay here. Is that so wrong that I helped someone?
Pooja: no, not at all, Vijay. In fact I'm proud that you helped her. We were just thinking horrible things, that's all.
Suraj: But how long will she stay here with you?
Vijay: I don't know…
Pooja: I say let her stay here until she finds a job and can support herself.
Suraj: hain, you do that.

Muskaan hears this gladly, knowing that she'll have a place to stay.
