Part 19:
Pia watches her happy sister, bani, getting dressed in a nice magenta suit, making her look very sexy and showing all of her curves. Her hair is loosely out, she is wearing nice earrings matching her suit, and wearing choodiya.
Pia: di, where are you going?
Bani: (adjusting her earring) pia, today is mine and jai's third month anniversary, so he's taking me out somewhere.
Pia: Jai is going to flip when he sees you. (commenting her)
Bani is about to thank her, but it is cut off by a car honking.
Bani: That must be him.
Adding a few touches, bani asks pia how she looks.
Pia: you look wonderful!
Bani: (smiles) Thanks.
Bani hugs pia before leaving. Excited, she runs to jai's car and lets herself in. Bani's heart does a flip by seeing jai dressed in all black, looking very handsome. She kisses him and hugs him tightly.
Jai: Hey.
Bani: Hey. Jai, where are we going?
Jai: (grins) You'll see.
Bani: (stubborn) no, jai! I want to know!
Jai kisses bani, shutting her up. He wraps his available arm around bani, making her melt and blush like crazy. He drives bani to their destination.

Vijay walks gloomily down the dark empty street, in deep thoughts. He usually takes walks at night outside of his apartment to clear his mind. But it isn't helping today, for some reason he is missing bani a lot today. He hasn't seen her for the last three months, and tried really hard to forget about her, but couldn't. He loves her too much. Vijay misses her smile, the twinkle in her eyes, her priceless laugh, and most of all, talking to her. It begins raining, making Vijay drenched in water, but this doesn't stop him from continuing to walk. Vijay immediately stops walking when he hears faint yelling, crying for help. He turns around but sees no one. He proceeds to walk ahead, but yet stops again by hearing a woman screaming. Vijay turns around and sees a young woman, somewhere in her 20's, running down the street heading towards him, dressed in a white suit that is completely soaked, making it see through. He then hears howling and whistling and sees a bunch of guys running after her, trying to catch her. The girl continues screaming helplessly, looking extremely terrified by the men chasing her. She bumps into Vijay and hides behind him. "p-please help me!," she asks desperately. He continues to look at the terrified girls face and sees that she is crying. "They-they won't leave me alone!," she says again. Vijay turns back, seeing the guys reaching up to them, he begins to feel angry, not liking how they are misbehaving with the innocent girl. "Muskan!," one guy, the leader, calls out to her. He is wearing a black t-shirt, with a red rumal on his head, and jeans. Vijay can feels Muskaan's hands tighten on Vijay's shoulders, while she hides behind him. The guy sees her duputta laying on the ground next to Vijay's feet. He laughs cruelly, "I found you, Muskaan!". She let's go of Vijay and tries to run, but Vijay holds onto her arm, not letting her go nowhere.
Vijay: What do you think you are doing to this girl?
Guy: Shut up and stay out of this! Ok? I just want my fianc.
Vijay turns around and looks at Muskaan, with questioning. She looks back and shakes her head to disagree with what the guy just said.
Muskaan: (gathers up courage, but voice is still shaky) Vinod, I am not your fiance! I will never marry you!
Vinod: you! (angry)
He picks up his hand to slap her hard across the face, but is stopped by Vijay who pushes his hand away. The next five seconds, vinod is punched in the face by Vijay, falls to the ground, and falls unconscious. The other three guys watch this, get scared, and flee. Muskaan, shocked, covers her mouth with her trembling hands.

Bani watches the gigantic ocean with fascination. She sees the huge waves hit the tall rocks, making crashing sounds. She could taste the salty air in her mouth. Bani badly wants to go walk on the beach, but instead is lead inside of the restaurant next to it. A waiter leads them through the loud and crowded restaurant. "There's barely any room in this place, where are we going to sit?," bani whispers to jai. He smiles to her and says, "You'll see". The waiter takes them to a door, and opens it for them, letting them go in first. She is surprised to see a pink colored room, with lit candles all over the room, a table in the middle decorated, covered with a nice lacy tablecloth with rose petals scattered onto it, and violinists playing gentle and soft music. Bani looks into the room in a daze. Jai grabs her hand and seats her down across from him.
Bani: (still surprised) Did you do this?
Jai: (giving her a grin) yeah, just for you.
Bani blushes and looks away from him. Another polite waiter asks how they are and hands them the menus to order their food.

Vijay: I'll let you stay in my home for tonight, and then I'll take you back to where you came from. Ok?
He says this and grabs a warm set of clothes from his bedroom. Vijay walks back into the kitchen, where Muskaan is sitting down and shivering, still a little terrified. She looks at Vijay and quickly nods her head in agreement. Vijay hands over his clothes to the trembling girl. He watches her take it, hesitantly. Vijay couldn't help, but notice how innocent and good looking the girl is. She has nice gray eyes, nice curly black eyelashes, and beautiful wavy black hair.
Vijay: You'd want to get changed.
Muskaan looks at Vijay for one hard second and starts bawling like a little child. A little surprised, Vijay sits next to her.
Vijay: Why are you crying?
He waits for her to finish crying and then she answers back.
Muskaan: Thank you. I don't know what would have happened if you didn't help me or give me a place to stay.
Vijay: (gives her a faint smile) Your welcome. (begins to wonder) Do you mind if I ask you something?
Muskaan: (wiping away her tears) no, not at all.
Vijay: Why were those guys after you? What did they want? And what are you doing out so late at night by yourself? Where are you from?
Muskaan doesn't respond and looks away from Vijay. He then realizes that he asked way too much and decides to shut up.
Vijay: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to….
Vijay stands up slowly and begins to walk back to his room to sleep, but stops when Muskaan answers his questions.
Muskaan: The guy that you punched is Vinod, and the others are his close friends. They have always been after me and harassing me. Vinod always thought that I'd marry him, and I'd always refuse every time he asked me. He thinks that I'm only for him, he says the he loves me with all his heart, but I know he's only in love with how I look, nothing else. Where I come from, ….I honestly don't know. But I was recently living with my grandma, the only relative I have left….she died about a week ago. (tears start welling in her eyes) I don't have any money to support myself, no place to live anymore, and am lost. I bumped into Vinod and his friends, and - they were trying to take me with them, but I ran away. And now…I'm here.
Vijay continues to look at Muskaan, and can clearly see the pain in her eyes.
Vijay: You've been through a lot, Muskaan. You must be tired, you can sleep in my room. I'll sleep on the sofa.
Muskaan: no, it's ok, Vijay ji. I'll sleep on the couch, I don't mind.
Vijay: (puts his hand up to stop her) no, I insist.
Muskaan smiles at her rescuer, sweetly and thanks him once again.

Jai reaches over across the table and takes bani's hands in his. He stares deeply at her with his muddy brown eyes, sending shivers down her spine. Jai smiles at her.
Jai: you know I love you, bani?
Bani: (smiles) yeah. I do.
Jai: and that I'm ready to give up anything in the world for you because you mean everything to me?
Bani: (touched) jai…
Jai: Bani I love you with all my heart and want you to be always mine. You are amazing. You have changed my life in so many ways. I can't even imagine one day without you in it. I want you by my side always. Bani, I want to spend the rest of my life with you and only you.
Bani: what are you trying to say?
Jai: What I'm trying to say is that with you, I feel complete. You make me feel whole, bani. I know that we belong together.
Bani, still not getting what jai's going at, watches him get out of his seat and bend down on one knew next to her. Then it finally hits her when she sees jai reaching into his coat pocket pulling out a black box. She immediately covers her mouth in shock, and tears begin dwelling in her eyes. Bani stares at jai, speechless.
Jai: (smiles sheepishly) Bani, will you marry me and be my wife?
As he says this, jai opens the box, showing the precious diamond ring to a very stunned bani. She looks at him, astonished.
Bani: (whispers) Oh my god…
The tears come flowing out while she smiles and laughs. Bani chokes down her tears and nods her head in agreement.
Bani: (quickly) Yes, yes!
Jai slips the ring quickly onto bani's ring finger, while smiling like a maniac. He kisses bani gently at first and then very deeply.
Bani: (happily) I love you, jai.
He kisses her tears away.
Jai: I love you too….

An anxious pia waits desperately outside of the house, in search of jai's car. She is hopping up and down in excitement, inpatient to see bani as an engaged woman. Jai had told her a few days earlier about how he was going to ask bani to marry him. Pia tried her best to hide her excitement from bani and rano the past few days, but couldn't help but smile at bani. Bani would give her weird looks and ask her why is she always smiling, but pia refused to tell her. Rano comes out also, asking pia what is she doing out here.
Pia: I'm waiting for bani di.
Rano: why?
Dying to get it off her chest, pia tells her confused sister everything. Rano looks at pia with disbelief at first, but then a huge smile spreads across her face and she hugs pia, overwhelmed with happiness.

Muskaan fingers her deep cut on her right arm, painfully. Blood was gushing all over her arm. She then lightly touches another stinging cut on her shoulder. Vijay comes walking into his room, which he is letting Muskaan sleep in, to see if she is all set.
Vijay: If you need anything, I'm right out-
He notices blood dripping on the floor and bed sheets and sees Muskaan hiding her arm and right shoulder with his blanket. Vijay comes quickly over to her and uncovers the blanket from her. His eyes widen when he sees the deep cuts.
Vijay: Muskaan, when did this happen?
She doesn't reply, instead she slowly shrugs her shoulders.
Vijay: I'll be right back.
She watches Vijay leave the room and come back with rubbing alcohol in one hand and bandages in another. Muskaan moves over a little on the bed, too make room for Vijay to sit. He takes her arm gently and dabs the alcohol onto her cut. Muskaan shuts her eyes closed and yells in pain.
Vijay: here, squeeze my other hand if it hurts, ok?
Muskaan nods her head. Vijay puts his hand into hers, letting her grasp it. He continues to clean her cut, while muskaan squeezes his hand, in pain.
Vijay: there it's done. (takes his hand from her and shakes it) you really hurt my hand. (jokes around)
Muskaan: (guilty) I'm so sorry!
Vijay: (laughs) it's ok.
He then quickly bandages her arm and her shoulder. Muskaan watches him intently, while he does this. She was getting a strange feeling with Vijay around, her body would heat up with nervousness. Muskaan's eyes roam all over him, examining him carefully. Muskaan has never come across a handsome man like Vijay before, she blushes when she thinks of this.
Vijay: (smiles) ok, all done. Now you go to sleep. See you in the morning, goodnight.
Muskaan: (shy fully murmurs) goodnight.
Muskaan watches him leave the room, closing the door behind him. She turns off the light and wraps herself warmly with the blanket and waits for sleep to overcome her.
sorry to disappoint you if the proposal isn't all that romantic... hope you guys liked it though!
