Jai's mobile phone rings loudly and seeing Pushkar's number he jolts to his feet running out of the door. The sudden gust of wind extinguishes the lone diya burning at Amba Maata's feet as Jai runs through the heavy rain back into the hospital…

As Jai had brushed past them without a word Jigyaasa had tried to go after him but had been stopped by Dadi.

Dadi: Jaane de usse… thoda sochne ka waqt do…

Jigs: Kya sochenge voh… Jai bhaiya ko maine kabhi itna toota hua nahi dekha… tab bhi nahin jab Police ko voh Juhu beach me laash milli thi… nahi dekh sakti main usse aise…

Pia: Bahut dard ho raha hai na aapko? Apne bhai ko taqleef hui aur aapka dil toot gaya. Apne kabhi socha ke hum par kya beet rahi hogi…?

Jigs, patiently: Maine kabhi inkaar nahi kiya ke you would be worried, lekin phir bhi baat karne ki tameez hoti hai Pia…

Pia opens her mouth to argue more but is interrupted by Aditya and Ranveer!

Adi: Kya hua… Jai kaha hai, aur Bani-

Jigs: Kitni der lagaadi Aditya, kitne ghante hogaya tumse phone pe baat kiye hue!!

Ranveer: Maa aap ke phone ke baad hum toh sidhe nikal gaye the Nasik se, voh bich mein traffic jam hogaya tha! Saahil aur Rano-

Dadi: Nahi puttar, hamne Saahil-Rano ko kuch nahin bataaya. Goa se aate bahut der ho jayegi aur voh khamakhaa pareshaan hojayenge. Waise bhi, kal subah Goa se nikalne hi waale the voh log…

A nurse hurries out of the operation theatre and Aditya tries to stop and question her but she brushes him off and hurries away.

Ranveer: Mamaji kaha hai?

Jigs: Operation shuru hone se kuch hi der pehle voh yaha se bahar chalegaye the… pata nahin kaha honge…

Dadi: Kuch nahin hoga mere Jai ko… bahut mazboot hai voh… kuch nahin hoga…

No-one contradicts her… but no-one is completely reassured either.

The Walia parivaar waits outside the operation theatre as minutes pass by excruciatingly slowly. Each time a nurse or doctor exits the room someone gets up to question them but no answers are forthcoming.

After a while Jigs becomes more and more agitated that Jai has still not returned.

Jigs: Kahan honge voh… agar doctor aagaya toh kya jawab denge hum unhe…

Pushkar: Jigyaasa auntie aap fikar mat kijiye main unhe phone karta hoon… bahut der hogayi hai…

He calls Jai's mobile. There is no answer but it is not long before Jai himself comes rushing down the hallway towards them, looking anxious, his eyes red.

Jai: Kya hua Pushkar, Bani ki koi khabar? Tumne phone-

Pushkar: Nahi, ab tak kisine hame kuch nahin bataya. Bas tumhare liye sab pareshaan ho rahe the issiliye maine phone kiya tha…

Adi: Jai…?

The two friends hug and without a word Aditya understand how terrified Jai was and exactly where he was and what he was doing alone.

Finally another nurse comes towards them holding a chart.

Nurse: Ji… aap me se patient ka pati…?

Jai: Main hoon, kya hua, kaise hai meri biwi, aur mera bachcha? Operation kaisa raha, usse ab tak hosh aaya ke nahin voh-

Nurse: Er… patient ko bahut gehri chot pohchi thi… doctors ne bahut koshish ki lekin…

Jai shouts: …lekin…? LEKIN WHAT?!!

Nurse, quietly: I'm sorry sir… hum aapki biwi ko… hum aapki biwi ko nahin bacha sake…

very well written, very sad at the end though anyways was expecting some bad news.
