Jatin's eyes glinted malevolently as he looked straight at Jai, and smiled, hugging Bani even tighter…
Jai clenched his fists in anger before noiselessly whirling round and stalking back into the house.
Bani soon pulled away from Jatin, a little uncomfortable at his closeness. She felt a strange prickling at her back and turned around expecting to see someone behind her… but there was nothing.
Bani: Chalo andar chale, thand lag rahi hai!!
They go back inside. Bani looks around for Jai and sees him still seated at their table holding a drink. Thankfully, he hadn't come looking for her!!
After much more singing and dancing the party slowly draws to a close. Bani bids goodbye to the last of the guests and sits down looking exhausted!
Dadi, laughing: Arre Bani, yeh kya, itne me thak gayi??
Bani: Dadi, mujhse to chala nahin jaa raha!!!
Jai, quietly: Bahut dance kiya aaj Bani? Maybe you should take it easy.
Ranvijay: I must say samdhiji, aap ke ghar ke party ka kuch aur hi baat hai! Ab bahut der ho chuki, hame bhi chalna chahiye.
Anu: Thank you mamiji, aapne hamara wedding reception itna achcha plan kiya tha!
Jigs looks hurt – she had after all done a lot of work for this party too! Rano notices her dejection and gives her hug, taking her by complete surprise!
Rano: Mujhe itni fashionable aur trendy saas milengi maine to kabhi socha hi nahi tha!! Aap ke decorations, invitations, aapke kapde kitne achche the mummyji!! Thank you so much!!
Jigs, trying not to look too flattered: Haan haan pata hai, of course achche the, mere pasand ke the after all!!
Dadi and Bani look at each trying not to laugh.
Roshni: Jatin tum hamare saath chaloge? Hum tumko drop kardenge ghar pe.
Jatin: Thanks Roshniji!
Achcha to Bani, thanks for the party! Pia… Rano… I'm so happy to see you again! Ab hame bhool mat jaana ok? Maine tumhe mere naye ghar ke address de diya hai!!
They smile and hug him. He walks up to Jai and looks him straight in the eyes with a defiant smirk.
Jatin: Thanks for the party Mr Walia, I REALLY enjoyed myself tonight… I'm sure I will see you soon!
Jai shakes his hand with a forced smile specifically for Bani's benefit, wishing nothing more than to be shaking him by the neck instead!
He walks towards the main door and once Bani has turned away towards the kitchen Jai follows him. Jatin has guessed that Jai would not let him leave without a confrontation and is waiting in the hallway alone. He leans casually against the wall waiting for a very heated Jai to come looking for him.
Jatin, on seeing Jai come storming into the hallway: You're so predictable Mr Walia… mujhe pata tha tum mere pichche zaroor aaoge!
Jai has had enough of his cockiness and thunders towards him. He pushes Jatin against the wall, his eyes blazing, holding him by the neck. Jatin refuses to look terrified and smirks even more, furthermore infuriating an already angered Jai.
Jai: Bahut ho chuka Jatin, TUMHARI HIMMAT KAISE HUI MERI BIWI KO HAATH LAGAANE KI?!!
Jatin: Bechaare Mr Walia… so worked up!!! Maine aisa kuch bhi nahin kiya jo tumhaari biwi nahin chaahti thi!!
Jai's eyes flash and he tightens his grip on Jatin. The old Jai Walia resurfaces – the passion, the arrogance, the crazed possessiveness.
Jai: ZABAAN SAMBHAAL KE JATIN!! VARNA ME-
Jatin: DON'T YOU DARE THINK YOU CAN THREATEN ME AND GET AWAY WITH IT MR WALIA! Mein Bani nahi hoon, jo chup chaap sab kuch seh loonga! I know all about your sham marriage, sab jaanta hoon me!!
Aur main TUMSE poonchta hoon, jis Bani ko maine bachpan se lekar aaj tak pyaar kiya hai, usse chot dene ki TUMHAARI himmat kaise hui?!!
His eyes are blazing too and Jai backs off in shock at hearing his words. Jatin steps up to him, so close that Jai can almost feel the heat of his anger.
Jatin: Surprised aren't you? Shayad aapko aadat hogayi hai auro se apni baat manvaane ki… but you're highly mistaken if you think I am afraid of you.
Bahut bholi hai Bani, aapne nashe me aake do mithi baatein kya karli, voh samajh bethi yeh pyaar hai!! She deserves better than you Jai Walia and one day she's going to realise this and come running straight into my arms!!
Jai lifts his hand ready to punch Jatin before he can take Bani's name again, but Jatin catches his wrist and forcefully holds him back.
Jatin: Don't even try it Mr Walia. Apne gusse ko bachaa ke rakho – jab Bani tumhe chhod ke chali jaayegi toh apni kismat ko kosne mein kaam aayega! And I promise you Mr Jai Walia, voh din bahut jaldi aayega, jab Bani tumhe chhod ke mere paas aajayegi!! Tab mein dekhta hoon tum kya karpaoge! Jis daulat or shoharat pe tumhe itna ghuroor hai – voh sab kuch tumhaare saamne hi bikhar jaayega!
He lets go of Jai's wrist – Jai is still in shock that someone has dared speak to him this way. He glares at Jatin who retreats towards the door. Just before he steps outside Jatin turns and smirks…
Jatin: Game on Mr Walia… … GAME… ON…
I know you all want a happy ending, and trust me there will be one - but things always get worse before they improve, right?? 😆
