I have stopped watching Kasamh se (not even reading the updates), surprisingly my mind is so much at peace!!!! My dad got the shock of his life when he learnt this piece of BREAKING NEWS, he even offered to buy a gift for me, I am thinking of taking up that offer!!!
Since Christmas is around the corner, so I thought of giving you people a Christmas Gift.
Even though I come from a pure Brahmin family but I have been educated in a Christian school, so I celebrate Christmas (not in the traditional style) and I love it. I even remember the beautiful carols our singing teacher used to teach us, "Rudolf the red nose reindeer…" and "Jingle bells…".I even choreographed a dance on jingle bells for small kids in my school. I remember buying a flashy green Christmas tree and decorating it with tiny light bulbs and other things. I didn't sleep on one Christmas Eve to see Santa Clause, but eventually I feel asleep.
As I grew up education ruined me and I knew there was no Santa Clause, and Christmas celebrations got lost in the busy life. But even today I still believe there is a Santa Clause somewhere, and he fulfils all the innocent wishes of every child. He may not physically come but yes some way or the other he does fulfill our small or big wishes.
This Christmas please do pray for World Peace and Harmony. AMEN!!!

Santa Clause!!!
"Aur phir…" Krishna asked in her toothy voice…
"Aur phir, Santa Clause aate hain, aur aap jo gift maangte hain woh deke chale jaate hain…" bani said as she patted Krishna to sleep…as a ritual her 5-year old daughter didn't go to sleep without listening to a story form her, and today she insisted on listening to a story about Christmas…
"Saachi…" Krishna exclaimed her droopy eyes wide awake…
"Haan, saachi…" bani smiled looking at her enthusiastic daughter…
"Toh main bhi tree lagaoongi…aur gift bhi maangungi…"
"Haan…"
"YEH!!!!"
"Par aapko gift tab hi milega jab aap ache bache banke sojaayenge…Santa Clause sirf ache bachon ko hi gift deta hain…" bani said pulling up the comfy covers over her…
"Goodnight mamma…" Krishna said and closed her eyes hurriedly…
Bani patted her for sometime and after making sure she was asleep, she left switching off the bedside lamp… …

"Mamma, yeh wala…plesse…" Krishna looked in awe of the medium heightened artificial Christmas tree which was put up in one of the shops of the shopping mall…as promised bani and Krishna had come to buy things for celebrating Christmas…
Bani looked at her daughter's pleading eyes, as a child she had not celebrated Christmas, though she had read the fables about Jesus Christ. They used to go for a family vacation during the winter holidays but seeing Krishna's enthusiasm and excitement she couldn't refuse but to comply with her wishes…
"Okay…" bani said smilingly…Krishna gave a beaming smile to her mother…
After a few hours buying all the necessary requirements they headed back to home…

Jai entered the Walia Mansion, it was unusually quite, usually Krishna would bring down the house, since she was having winter holidays she was upto something or the other everyday, he walked in to find massi and daadi busy watching something on television while jigyasa was nowhere in sight…Bani couldn't be seen as well, he climbed the steps to his room, not finding bani he went towards Krishna's room, he heard soft giggles of his daughter…
He entered the all pink room to find his wife and daughter engrossed in decorating a Christmas tree…bani was putting the streamers of tiny light bulbs around the branches of the tree…while Krishna was hanging the balls and the branch ends…
Seeing jai enter the room, Krishna jumped in excitement…ad ran towards him…
"PAPA!!!" Krishna shouted, jai bent down to pick her up and plant a kiss on her soft cheek… while bani looked on to the father daughter duo…
"What is my Krishu doing…?" jai asked seeing the happily lightened face of his daughter…
"Papa, mamma aur main Chrismas manayenge, hum tree saja rahen hain, Santa Clause aayaga and he will give me a gift…" Krishna stated intelligently…jai looked amused…
"I was telling her a story about Santa Clause and she wanted to celebrate, and I didn't have the heart to say no…" bani said arranging other fancy things on the tree…jai smiled at her…
"Of course we will celebrate Christmas, papa will also celebrate…" jai said
"Saachi…" Krishna asked expectedly…
"Muchi…chalo lets decorate the tree…" jai said and carried her towards the tree…
And soon the threesome got involved in decorating the Christmas tree…

It was the Christmas Eve, bani was busy preparing a Christmas cake for Krishna…
"Tony, just give me some vanilla essence…" bani asked as she whipped the mixture to get a thick consistency…putting a few drops of vanilla essence, she mixed it again…She poured the mixture into a butter greased cake mould, setting it properly she kept it in the pre-heated oven and set the time…
Wiping her hands she walked out of the kitchen to fetch Krishna, it had been an hour since Krishna had gone out to play with her neighborhood friends but had not returned…
Bani walked out of the house searching for Krishna, when she saw, Krishna sitting on the cement slab in the garden, her small palms cupping her face which was dull with a frown…bani approached her…she sat besides her and said…
"Krishu, kya hua…" bani said picking her up and making her sit on her lap…Krishna remained quite…
"Krishu, mamma ko nahin bataoge…" bani said mollycoddling her…
"Woh meri friend, neha hain na…" Krishna spoke up…sounding tad bit upset…
"Hmmm…"
"Usne kaha ki koi Santa Clause nahin hain…" Krishna said almost on the verge of tears…
"Usne aisa kaha…"
"Haan, maine kaha ki Santa Clause aake gifts dekga, but woh hasne lagi…" tears flew down her soft cheeks which had now become red…bani wiped her tear strained face with her pallu end…
"Krishu, nahin rote…Santa Clause sach main hain, dekhna kal subah aap uthengi toh apkja gift hoga…" bani said with a smile…
"Sachi, mujhe ek doggy milega na…" Krishna said…
"Doggy…" bani looked at her confused; she had secretly bought a new doll-house for Krishna so that Krishna would feel nice, but here she wanted a puppy…
"Haan, mujhe doggy chahiye…" Krishna said…
"Haan, haan, doggy milega…aap toh kitni achi bachi ho na…" bani said, feeling guilty about lying…
"Sacchi…"
"Haan…"
"I love you mamma…" Krishna kissed her cheek…
"Chalo, cake pe cherries lagate hain…" bani said as she carried Krishna inside…

Krishna curiously looked at bani who was spreading the white cream over the spongy cake, she made a few designs using the cream filled cone, she put a few chocolate flakes on the cake…
"Chalo aap abhi cherries lagao…" bani asked Krishna who was sitting on the kitchen slab with her legs crossed… Krishna delightfully picked up the red cherry and placed it on the cake along the circumference carefully… seeing Krishna busy bani went outside, picking up the phone she dialed jai's number…
"Hello…Jai…" bani said…
"Yes, Mrs. Walia aaj humme kaise yaad kiya…" jai said in a flirting voice…
"Jai, serious problem...Krishna…"
"Krishna, kya hua Krishna ko…" jai panicked…
"Jai, kuch nahin hua hain, I had got a gift for her, maine socha raat ko uske pass rakhdoongi, she would think Santa Clause had given it, par she wants a puppy…"
"Puppy!!!"
"Jai, please get one na, or else she will be upset…"
"Bani, where do I get a puppy within hours…"
"God!!! The Jai Walia can't get his daughter a puppy…theek she will cry tomorrow tumhi sambhalna…" bani said irritated and slammed the phone…
Jai stared at the phone, God!! Bani at times can be so overbearing, just like him…now he has to get a puppy… he sighed…

Krishna clapped as bani switched on the lights of the Christmas tree…the tree was looking spectacular standing tall against the glass window pane, the crescent moon shining hazily in the sky made the perfect backdrop… …
Krishna kept the cake near the bottom of the tree…
"Krishu, the cake is for you, let's cut it…" bani said…
"Nahin mamma, Santa will come na, so he will eat…" Krishna said…bani was touched by her daughter's thoughtfulness…
"Okay…" bani said…Krishna started singing the Christmas carol which they had been taught in school…
"Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way…oh what fun it is to ride on a…on a…" Krishna couldn't recollect the following lines…
"On a one horse open sleigh, hey jingle bells…jingle bells…" bani completed the lines and they both sang the complete carol in sync… …
Jai came carrying a box of chocolates…he looked at his daughter who was looking pretty as a princess in that pink Barbie dress singing the song sweetly… …
"Hey krishu, look what papa's got for you…" jai said as he waved the box full of chocolates before her…
"Chocolates…….." Krishna shouted excitedly…and took it; jai looked at bani who gave him a tough look…jai grinned…
"Merry Christmas Krishna…" he greeted…
"Merry chirsmas Papa… thank you…" Krishna pecked his cheek…
"Chalo Krishna, dinner karte hain…" bani said…

Bani took out jai's nightwear, she placed it on the bed and was about to leave to put Krishna to sleep when she felt a pair of hands wound around her waist…
"Jai, leave me, I need to put Krishna to sleep…" bani said grimly…jai nuzzled her neck and kissed her shoulder… …
"JAIIII…"
"I have a surprise for you Mrs. Walia…" he said…
"What?" she asked rather uninterestedly…jai turned her and pointed his finger to the table…a cute little white puppy was sleeping in a cane basket…bani gasped…
"You got it…" bani exclaimed…looking at him…jai gave her a lopsided smiled…
"Well, nothing is impossible for The Jai Walia…" he said…bani hugged him…
"Thank you so much…Krishna will be so happy…" bani said…
"And I have another surprise also…"
"What?"
"You remember the orphanage which was being constructed…"
"Hmm…"
"It is complete…and I have kept tomorrow as its opening day, I thought what better day than Christmas to open it, every child's wish will be fulfilled…"
"Oh Jai! That is so nice…I am so proud of you…"
"No need to give me all the credit, the basic idea and design was yours…"
"Ya, but you executed it…"
"And guess what, it is called Krishna Children's Home…" jai said proudly…
"Wow!!!"
"Main soch raha tha, Krishna uska inauguration karegi…"
"It will be so nice…"

Bani entered Krishna's room to find her sitting by the window, praying with her eyes closed…bani was amazed to see the sight before her…
"Mamma…" Krishna squealed…
"Haan krishu…"
"Maine God se maanga, ki saabki wish puri ho…" Krishna said…
"Of course beta, sabki wish puri hogi, chalo let's sleep…" bani patted her cheek…
"Par, mamma, I want to see Santa Clause…" Krishna whined…
"Nahin beta, Santa Clause ko puri duniya main ghoomna hoga na, sabko gift dene ke liye, woh bas aayenge aur chalejayenge…" bani said…
"Par mamma…"
"Krishu, be a good girl, kal Christmas hain na, kal subah tumhe apna gift mil jaayega…"
"Okay…"
Bani made Krishna sleep… …

It was way past midnight, jai stealthily entered Krishna's room, Krishna was sleeping soundly…he carefully kept the basket carrying the puppy near the tree, he walked out of the room with silent steps…and went towards his room…

Krishna rubbed her eyes with her small fists, as if remembering something she jumped out of the bed…her face glowed in delight as she saw the cute little puppy staring back at her with large brown eyes…
"Mamma…papa…" Krishna shouted, picking up the puppy…bani and jai gave each other a knowingly look as they walked in…
"Mamma, see Santa Clause ne meri wish puri kar di…" Krishna cuddled the puppy…which was making funny sounds…
"Haan beta…" bani replied…
"And see…Santa Cause ne mera cake bhi khaya…" Krishna pointed out the half-eaten cake, a few crumbles of cake were spread on the floor…bani mused, thinking jai had eaten it she smiled back…
"Toh aapne iska naam kya socha hain…" jai asked
"Mmnn………mmmm….Santa…" Krishna said thinking hard…jai smiled and ruffled her hair…
"Chalo, krishu brush karo, main breakfast banati hoon…aaj hum ek special place jaa rahne hain…"
"Santa bhi aayega…" Krishna said…
"Haan haan…chalo jaldi…"

Jai and bani came out of the room…bani crossed her hands against her chest and looked at jai sternly…
"Aapne cake khaya na…" bani asked…
"Bani, common maine cake nahin khaya…" jai defended himself…
"Aapko pata hain na you are not allowed sweets Mr. Walia…"
"Bani, trust me on this I have not eaten it…"
"Acha, jhoot mat boliye…"
"Bani, I swear I didn't eat…"
"Toh kya Santa Clause aake khake gaya…"
"Ho sakta hain…"
"Very funny, aap hi ne khaya hoga…" bani stomped her foot and walked away…jai shook his head… …

Krishna looked at the morning sky from the glass window pane…the slanting sun rays filled her room illuminating it to a bright pink color…
"Thank you Santa Clause…" Krishna said and blew a kiss in the air… …
