Hey guys,
An idea just popped into my head, so I just decided to give it a shot. It's a short story. I hope you all like it
SANGAM
PART -1
DELHI
The Kapoor residence was looking like a bride, with the streamers of tiny flashing bulbs hanging, garlands of flowers adorning the entrance. Today was a big day for nishikant and kiran Kapoor, their two lovely daughters pia the elder one and bani the younger one were getting married on the same day.
Ironically, the happiest day in their life was also the saddest for them, today their daughters would leave them and start a new life, from today onwards they will be their daughters later but somebody else's daughter-in-laws first. Kiran and nishikant couldn't help but get emotional over-seeing the wedding preparations and just thinking that pia and bani will not be here from tomorrow.
"bachion ke bina ghar kitna soona lagega na," kiran said in a choked voice to her husband who was trying to control his tears but failed miserebaly.

He silently remembered the fateful day when pia came to him and kiran in the study and timidly informed about her on-going love affair with pushkar, her boss at the workplace. Even he had met pushkar shukla a few times, though he was a handsome and well-bred boy but he was of different culture, not a punjabi. He clearly stated pia that he would have approved her choice if he had belonged to their community, but he feared that their community and relatives will not like it and might banish them from their social group.
He told her that after a few days the walias were coming to see her and that she should forget her miniscule fling and be prepared to get married to Jai Walia, the youngest son of Uday and Krishan Walia.

MUMBAI
"Maa meri tie kahan hain, mujhe der ho rahin hain," jai shouted from his huge room which was now a mess.
"Tie laga ke kahan jaa raha hain tu, tujhe yaad hain na aaj teri shaadi hain", Krishna retorted finally figuring out his black tie from the heap of clothes.
"haan ma yaad hain, flight toh 2 ghante baad ki hain naa, bas thoda sa kaam hain, yun gaya aur yun aaya", replied jai wearing the tie.
"tujhe toh sirf kaam ki padi rehti hain, aane de meri bahu ko who ek dum thik kardegi tujhe," complained Krishna.
"Ha!!Ha!!, very funny, dekhte hain," challenged jai and with that he collected his things and ran away in a huff lightly pecking Krishna on her cheek.
"Time pe airport pahunch jaana," shouted krishan smiling to herself. "Yeh ladka bhi na" and started cleaning his room.

DELHI
And here on one side where pia was happily getting ready for her wedding on the other hand bani was cursing her fate and the day when the walias came.
------------------------------------------------------------ -------------
Bani a very cheerful, bubbly and chirpy girl unlike her sister who was more shy and reserved.
Pia worked as a software engineer in the"Infosys" and she gradually fell in love with her handsome, sweet boss, which was unknown to bani.
Bani on the other hand was more adventurous and fun-loving. She was a print journalist, after completing her studies in mass media communication from the famous Delhi University; she joined "Delhi Times" a leading newspaper in Delhi. She had taken to her grandfather who was a famous journalist himself during the time of India's Independence. She possessed her grandfather's wit, humor, patriotism and the ability to see things from a different perspective. She was very hard-working and believed in writing quality stuff which would serve as an eye-opener to the society unlike others who commercialized journalism.
Though pia and bani were different like chalk and cheese but they were indeed very close. They were more like best friends than sisters; they shared everything with each other but one thing pia didn't tell bani was about her love.
Mainly because pia feared her reaction as bani was not the romantic types and moreover bani was very busy with her new work. With her sheer hard-work and dedication she earned a very respectable position in the office. For the past few days she was busy with her new article on "CHILD LABOUR" and was hardly aware of anything happening in the house.
It was only the day before the walias arrival that she knew that they were coming to see her di. Though she could sense some tension in the air, she ignored it thinking that she was just over-stressing herself.

MUMBAI
Jai was sitting idle in the back seat of his black BMW as his driver drove him to the airport from where he would leave for Delhi within a short while for his wedding. He couldn't help but let out a heavy sigh remembering about his wedding.
Jai a very handsome, sexy, happy-go-lucky man who loved his family to death and a self- confessed workaholic, though he had a few casual affairs but he was not serious about any.
His world revolved around his parents, his elder brother ranveer, his bhabhi rano and the 6-year old cutie varun, ranveer and rano's son whom he spoiled to death.
Until one day his mom threw a bombshell, his marriage. His mom complained that he was 28 and it was high time he got married and settled. And to his disappointment even ranveer and rano didn't support him this time and varun, he was super-excited to have a chachi, another person who could spoil him. Well, seeing them happy he couln't say no, already he rejected all the "suitable matches" without even looking at the girl's picture till now. He thought probably it was not that bad, he could at least give a chance. And Krishna gave him a dressing down before showing him the photo of his probably would be wife, Pia Kapoor, a software engineer in Infosys, and daughter of the Textile industrialist nishikant dixit, his company which was now mostly handled by his eldest son Daksh Kapoor, married to Anamika. And pia's sister bani who was a print journalist, which was quite interesting, he thought. This was the brief he got from rano bhabhi.
Pia was good-looking no doubt but he couldn't feel that tingle and skipping of heart beat when he saw her photo. Nonetheless he decided to give it a shot, as he didn't want to disappoint his family members.
His train of thoughts was broken as his driver informed him about their arrival at the airport. He quickly got off his car and headed towards the airport to join his family.
