It is the real, inner self of Duryodhana emerging, when he was faced with his first, public defeat and humiliation at the hands of Drupad (who, incidentally, looks like a streetside thug, not like a king. He was much better cast in the Mahabharata).
Duryodhana must have been like this only, as they say, only the trigger for his insensate rage was not there till now.
He won't call Karna a sootputra, don't worry!
What struck me as very funny was the way in which Karna was watching Duryodhana till the very last second. There was NO gathering alarm on his face or in his eyes, no hint of impending panic as Uruvi was on the doors of death. It was very odd.
He just stood there, looking with bland contemplation at his mitr, till, of course, he grabbed the descending blade in the last millisecond. I think they simply repeated the opening shots of his face.
Now one would have expected any sensible man to have grabbed Duryodhana's arm a few seconds earlier, and spared his own hand as well! But no, he has to hurt his hand, and offer an opportunity for the besotted Uruvi to do emergency upachaar for the man she is nuts over.😉
Another thing, no one seems to have been worried about septicaemia in those days, or else their swords were always gleaming bright and rust free!😉
However, I liked the way in which Karna was looking at Duryodhana, while still holding the blade. His eyes were still, firm and controlling, and he said not a word. It was like watching a lion tamer at work.
Yet another odd moment. Here is Uruvi's mother wanting to hide from her daughter the matter of the announcement, by Bhishma, of the Arjun-Uruvi engagement, as she is afraid Uruvi might refuse to marry Arjun. But how is she not worried about the even more embarassing prospect of having her self-willed and dheet daughter turning the proposal down bluntly in front of the whole raajsabha?

Bhanu is not wrong in thinking what she is thinking actually. Uruvi is between two boats...she needs to choose one..
