No man is prejudiced in favor of a thing that is wrong. He is attached to a belief of it being right.
Thomas Paine

Karna is a man of strong belief and ideals. A man who knows difference between a right and wrong still manages to support a wrong deed.. On one end he feels about women having equal rights , he asks Duryodhana to honor his promise of keeping bhanumati's honor and guides him to win her love in right manner.. Here understanding the love that his friend had for the woman he acquired by force.. guiding him to not use that force for gaining love..

When we are just appreciating this karna and there is glimpse of gratitude in eyes of bhanumati as well. We see karna in next instance catching uruvi with eyes saying lot ..It gave a hint of his struggle.. in heart may be he knows uruvi is right but still he can't leave that hand as his loyalty comes in way..

This is just a beginning of many such conflicts..which will define ..make strong at times...will hurt at times..his relationship with his sangini..

I loved what Karna said to Duryodhan today, but more specifically how he said it.

The last scene was full of symbolism, or Karna's conflict between his loyalty to his friend that drove him to stop Bhanumati and Urvi vs his inner voice that knew they were not wrong.

He held on to her saree to stop her and even as the poison started to take effect, he did not let go. He knew the guards were on the way and that he had to hold on until then, which he did successfully.

The poison was not meant to kill him but in this scene it was to dull his senses slightly as Urvi finally voiced what she felt, that Karna knew what was right or wrong. I loved the expression on Karna's face as it changed from determination to stop them to pain and then a somewhat glazed understanding.

No. Never.😡 I won't buy that. I am a staunch feminist, a 100% shuddh one, of 916 purity. Karna should be brought back from whichever river his ashes were scattered into and hanged in public for treating women like that.😡 Also his poster should be stuck in every gali mohallas across this country so that any man who wishes to do what he did should think twice. 😎

😛 Sarcasm alert[ in your post JamyBR]
I could imagine the reaction of Karn's speech to dury 😆 , its not what some people expects him to say.. 😛

But I know my Karn is like this only.. the one who knows what it means when a woman says No.. No means No..

Are you referring to a specific incident here? Or Karna's attitude towards women in general in MB?

The "no means no" was a pretty obvious and clear statement from him today. I know he meant what he said to Duryodhan today but to me it seemed more like him trying to make amends instead of stopping his friend from kidnapping Bhanumati in the first place.

I agree with how you described the last scene.. his conflict was visible.. it was like he was praying to them to not make him do this...

I don't think he was praying. His body was struggling with the effects of the poison as he tried to hold onto Urvi's saree to stop her leaving until the guards arrived. At first I couldn't understand why he fell to the ground and then had a pained look on his face. Then I remembered that Urvi had dipped the dagger in poison, so it made sense that he would be physically weakened.

Ah poison! An age-old weapon that rarely fails. I also saw this as the start of slow poisoning of his clear-cut determination to support his friend no matter what. I expect this to turn into passive-aggressive appeals to his friend in future whenever Duryodhan does something wrong or is about to. Her words, and more importantly, her expectations of him with regards to being on the right side of mortality will bother him more and more.

Loved the quote and this post.👏
Karna is a man torn..knows what is right but still chooses the wrong. I think that is in essence who he was a conflicted soul who had sold his soul to the devil...though I like Duryodhana characterization in this show for nobody is fully black or fully white.

I am glad you also caught the gratitude in Bhanumathis eyes it was fleeting but there maybe a start of another beautiful friendship I remember herr asking Uruvi can a man and woman be just friends and maybe she will realize they can.

Conflicts and resolution of conflicts are part of life and will be part of lives of Karna and his sangini
