Karna is a man torn..knows what is right but still chooses the wrong. I think that is in essence who he was a conflicted soul who had sold his soul to the devil...though I like Duryodhana characterization in this show for nobody is fully black or fully white.

I am glad you also caught the gratitude in Bhanumathis eyes it was fleeting but there maybe a start of another beautiful friendship I remember herr asking Uruvi can a man and woman be just friends and maybe she will realize they can.

Conflicts and resolution of conflicts are part of life and will be part of lives of Karna and his sangini

Karna is a man of strong belief and ideals. A man who knows difference between a right and wrong still manages to support a wrong deed.. On one end he feels about women having equal rights , he asks Duryodhana to honor his promise of keeping bhanumati's honor and guides him to win her love in right manner.. Here understanding the love that his friend had for the woman he acquired by force.. guiding him to not use that force for gaining love..

When we are just appreciating this karna and there is glimpse of gratitude in eyes of bhanumati as well. We see karna in next instance catching uruvi with eyes saying lot ..It gave a hint of his struggle.. in heart may be he knows uruvi is right but still he can't leave that hand as his loyalty comes in way..

This is just a beginning of many such conflicts..which will define ..make strong at times...will hurt at times..his relationship with his sangini..
