It is a tongue in cheek compliment. I was amused and intrigued by your nothing is really good and nothing is really bad approach.
Thank you. Thank you. *Flares up and takes curtsy*😆I posted my take on Episode 8 on the same thread, a little below yours, which I liked a lot and mentioned in my own post. But my anticipation of what Duryodhana would do was only half right. But at least we were spared an ugly scene, and I was duly grateful!
I haven't checked your post, I just finished completing my analysis of Episode 7 on Kim's thread. Do check it out too though it is addressed as a reply to her comment, it is relevant to the episode as well, I hope.
Today's episode was an extended pravachan, this time by Karna. I am getting seriously alarmed at the abundance of do-gooding in this show. At this rate, we had better order a halo for Karna, nicely burnished in 24 carat gold! 😉😉
I watched only the first half, but I loved it, because of the helplessness of Karn I am saved from watching. I am okay with anything good or bad as long as Karn isn't shown helpless and suffering silently at the hands of a stronger Duryodhan. He made his point clear. And, idk why not many are recognising this potent Duryodhan-Karn bond. I think this Duryodhan is vastly different from any other I have seen. And I love this Duryodhan. I already mentioned this in the other thread, but couldn't stop myself from commenting again. I am as impressed with Duryodhan as with Karn, as today I am impressed with Karn's arguments and 'tark' coz Duryodhan actyally listened to him. It could be holier than thou and may not be accurate, but I'd rather see it this way.
Also, this is my perception of mythologies and period dramas on the whole. Irrespective of the timeline of the story, the depiction is always in sync with the time we live in. BRC was a description of facts with lesser emphasis on feelings and emotions, and XYZ resulted in ABC consequence and how it affected etc, which was dealt with slightly in the new MB. And today's speech about No means No is relevant to today's times when irrespective of whatever happened in the story, Karn's interference (or anyone else's interference but coz our hero is Karn, it has to be him. 😆) becomes mandatory. A similar incident would have played out very differently twenty or twenty five years ago on Television.
As for Uruvi, she will now be out of trouble for a while in Duryodhana's personal dungeon, whatever than means😉. I hope there are no rats there! Eventually, Karna will free her , undoubtedly, and our maiden will be doubly ready to swoon all over her boy wonder after having heard him hold forth to Duryodhana about women's rights and sensitivities. 😆
I have watched only half the episode. Will revert on this. 😃
Shyamala Aunty
Now this, my dear, is a remarkable compliment. Thank you. Though I was not aware that I was "part fangirling". Absolve me! 70 is well past fangirling age!😆
When I mean fangirling, there is the mad swooning and drooling, and there's the genuine appreciation for the opposite gender, that is characteristic of very classical female characters. I think I was referring to the genuine appreciation for the masculinity of a man, not the fangirling as such. 😆 Sorry I wasn't clear enough. And trust me, it is superbly remarkable you are able to do that at 70.
And even in my salad years, I would not have been caught dead drooling over such a male lead!😆 I used to like the Rhett Butler, Humphrey Bogard types, and more recently, for sophistication, Colin Firth's Darcy.
You hit the bull's eye. I meant the neat and sophisticated nature. 😉 Wondering if you have read Judith McNaught's Paradise? One of the few romances I have read and appreciated its sophistication. XD
